The Crowne Plaza is a very nice hotel to stay at. Front desk staff was awesome. It's within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. The only thing I would say needs improving, is more counter space in the bathroom. Will stay again.
"Crown Plaza Hotel - Denver Bronco Game"
The hotel was very nice, our room had a few issues like mold in the grout around the tub and toilet. The bathroom floor didn't look like it had been swept in a while and the curtains were torn to close at night. Being from a small town I felt it was a little pricey but overall a nice stay. Thx.
My first impression as I checked in was the lack of warmth I felt in the lobby area. It just seemed cold and I immediately thought that this was a lower rung hotel. I had stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn down the street before and I instantly regretted not staying there again. When I got off the elevator on the 11th floor (where my room was located), the hall seemed dingy. I wouldn't say the carpet was dirty, it just was dark and the hallway was uninviting. The same feeling of dinginess and darkness extended into the room. The "new" color scheme didn't do anything for me. It may be that the lighting in the room is serious lacking. The slide show of the new rooms in the lobby area are much brighter than the reality of the rooms. The bathroom was clean and bright, but the workmanship around the sink and tub was not very good. Because I wasn't sure, I confirmed with a worker I met on the elevator that my room was one of those that had already been renovated! There was nothing inviting about my room (with the possible exception of what looked like a 55" Samsung TV mounted on the wall at the foot of the bed). Almost forgot to mention two other irritants. The insulation between rooms is lacking as a crying baby was very audible. Also, I tried my best to reset the time of the "new" alarm clock next to the bed as it was incorrect. I could not do it. I was careful not to touch any alarm buttons. Unfortunately, someone before me had. Didn't enjoy the alarm going off at 4 AM! Bottom line is, I wouldn't stay here again. Too many options within a short walking distance. It may be the cheapest, but I would pay a few bucks more and enjoy my stay.
"Dirty, nasty hotel"
I just stayed there for work. They say they're spending millions on upgrades. None can be seen yet! The elevators are terribly slow, the restaurant is closed, I was directed to a brightly lit room with liquor and wine in a metal locker with a small makeshift "bar" with a very expensive wine list for a drink. My room was on the 18th floor, carpet badly stained, 2 double beds that have depressions in them because they are so old. The mirror in the bathroom is peeling and the brown paint on all of the door trim is chipped off. The beds looked to have new spreads but I'm not sure why. The rest is so crummy. Also hammering and banging was loud until 5 pm. Don't stay here. Also, it took 10 full minutes of the shower running to get hot water. The connecting room had 1 lousy turn lock keeping them from entering, don't like that either.
"In town for the Bronco game"
The Crown Plaza was priced right and in a great location (just a block off of the 16th Street Mall). We hadn't stayed here before but would absolutely consider booking a reservation with them again. Our room was comfortable and very clean. We appreciated the reasonably priced shuttle to the game and we were able to get free parking (gold member perk). Front desk was friendly and helpful. One note of caution: the hotel is currently under renovations so it was noisy while they worked on the floor below us, but it was quiet by 5pm each day we were there. But if you are hoping for a nap mid day, don't count on peace and quiet. I would also note that the parking garage is convenient to drive in and out of, but getting from your car - with luggage - to your room, you have to lug your items up a short, dark set of steps to a narrow and somewhat dingy hall to the elevators. Our room was on the 10th floor and we had a nice view of the mountains and the stadium. All in all, it was a pleasant stay and would stay here again.
