"Clean, nice, quiet and good location"
Expensive, but comparable with the rest of Yellowstone lodgings. Grant Village is in a good location...centrally located in the park. It was a nice lodge. Be prepared that mosquitoes will get into these rooms during the summer and can be annoying. But they are clean and quiet. There is a grocery store, gas station and post office on site as well. The staff was very friendly. We didn't hear a soul at night the three days we were there and it was fully booked.
The hotel has a fantastic location to get to know the central and the south parts of the Yellowstone NP. We stayed in the Bear Building and the room is very old, small, uncomfortable and needs an update. The bed is too small and noisy.
Grant Village Lodge was a great place to stay in Yellowstone. Location was perfect but do not expect a multi-star hotel and amenities. We stayed in Yellowstone to see the sights and experience the National Park and not for a hotel experience. The check in staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was at the Bear Lodge. The room and furnishings were very nice and comfortable considering we were in the middle of a National Park. The approach to conservation and recycling in the room was also refreshing. The visitor center, gas station, grocery store, gift shop and restaurants were all conveniently nearby. A short walk from the visitor center takes you to Yellowstone Lake. Housekeeping was very slow and never made it to our room even after we came back from our long day after 5 pm. Grant Village Lodge was a pleasant place to stay and I would recommend it if you would like to stay within Yellowstone.
"Small and expensive room in Yellowstone"
It is great to stay inside a national park especially Yellowstone. Because we booked rather late, there was not much of a choice left. Only the motel-style rooms in Grant Village near Yellowstone Lake. We had a 2xdouble bed room at the Bear complex. Very small room with not much of a view at a steep price of almost $280/day. Quality of the room is OK (bed, shower). Not much furniture though and also no in-room safe, TV or microwave. Noisy refridgerator. WiFi is not free and furthermore of poor quality (even in de Badlands were we stayed earlier it is free and of excellent quality). Cleaning of the room was not great too. What was positive? You are inside Yellowstone! Breakfast is in de restaurant next to the gift store and is expensive/poor quality. Problem seems to be that almost everything is run by students; they are willing but not able. Service was very slow and inaccurate. Overall: beter stay away from Grant Village, maybe better stay outside the park.
"Great location, but fairly basic"
We stayed here in August on the first day of our Yellowstone visit, driving up from Jackson. There is so much to do and see in Yellowstone, we did not want to waste a lot of time commuting in and out of the park, so opted to stay inside and pay the premium. For that, Grant Village Lodge was great. It's a great early morning starting point for covering the southern half of the park with relatively quick access to Old Faithful and upper geyser basin. But, that's about it. The lodge itself is nothing that great, just a place to rest your head. It was clean and well maintained. No wifi and bad cellphone reception but that's a function of the park. It's pricey, but options are limited unless you're willing to stay outside the park.
