We enjoyed our stay at the Pioneer Lodge. It was very convenient to the park, and the room was exactly what we needed: a clean place to stay. Nothing fancy, but very comfortable, and a great view of the canyon from the porch.
"Absolutely filthy and worse than most third world accommodation"
This is the most disgusting and filthy place that I have ever had the misfortune to stay at. It is reputed within the Springdale township as a notorious dump, and is an embarrassment to the residents (who fear that everyone who stays there will think the entire community are filthy grubs). There were bare wires hanging out of the ceiling, hair throughout the sheets, dirty hand prints everywhere, a stench you would not believe, and stains on the pillows that dark they showed through the pillow slips. The kitchenette was dirty and the front leg was missing off the fridge resulting in it trying to tip on you when you opened the door. If it was not for the fact that my child and I were both too unwell to travel any further, there is no way I would ever stay here. Management absolutely refused to speak with ANY of the unhappy guests at the time I was there. And all of this for over $200 per night! You would be better off camping under the branch of a tree somewhere. If they have got good reviews, I would wonder why...maybe they wrote them themselves. DON'T STAY HERE
"Great Location, Modern room, affordable lodgings"
We enjoyed our stay at the Historic Pioneer Lodge. The room had modern amenities, including a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, and housekeeping did a nice job keeping the room fresh and clean. The walls/windows might be a bit thin, as one can hear noise from folks passing by outside the room or in the parking lot, but it was not disruptive to sleep and did not affect our stay. The location was very convenient to dining in town or hiking in Zion National Park. Really, the town is small enough that the relative location of each lodgings is somewhat inconsequential. There was sort of fancy multi-option coffee machine in the lobby area, and the lobby also had a printer and informational resources about the area. Couldn't have asked for better from this place. The price was very reasonable, the room was clean and comfortable and offered everything we needed, and the location was good. I would definitely stay here again.
"Good location for Zion National Park"
We had a room on the second floor up concrete steps that looked fit to collapse- it was a very careful ascent and descent each time! Room was clean and comfortable and staff friendly. Website is out of date as they claim to have a restaurant which has closed down, however there are eating options in the town, and a decent restaurant almost opposite. There is free coffee/juice in the lobby which is nice. We stayed 2 nights and the property served its purpose but was nothing out of the ordinary.
My daughter and I stayed at the Pioneer Lodge in February while visiting Zions. I initially planned to book the room through the Southwest Airlines site in order to earn rapid rewards points. I opted to book directly through Pioneer Lodge website because it gave me the option to select a second floor room with a view. When we arrived we were given a room on the first floor with no view and told there were no second floor rooms available. So, I lost the rapid rewards points and did not get the room that I booked. The room was nice and clean. It looked like it had been recently renovated. The sheets on the beds were old or cheap as they were pilling and not comfortable. Other than that the room was acceptable.
