"Amazing honeymoon stay "

   22-03-2017
The good… The hotel rooms and grounds are simply beautiful. We stayed in one of the Garden residences which was lovely, the bathroom area is huge. As it was our honeymoon, when we first arrived a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine was chilling in our room which was a nice touch. You get as much complimentary water as you like during your stay which is good, and also complimentary mini insect repellents (they had these in the restaurants in the evening too). The staff were very good and attentive, they couldn’t do enough for you – when we sat by the pool or on the beach we were given iced water which was frequently topped up. The breakfast was really fantastic, it’s was an a la carte breakfast which you can have anytime you like from 6.30am – 5pm and you can choose as much as you like from the menu. The highlights of our stay have to be the two excursions which we did. We did the snorkelling trip to the Similan Islands on the Lady Sarojin which was fantastic, it was a group of just 12 of us from the hotel and as well as the snorkelling we got a wonderful seafood lunch (I’m vegetarian so they made a special meal for me) and it was an open bar! The other trip we did was the Mahout experience at the Phang Nga Ethical Elephant Camp. I have to say I didn’t enjoy riding the elephant but we were able to feed and bathe it too which was a fantastic, memorable experience. This was supposed to just be my husband and I but the hotel asked if another couple could join us which was fine. We did venture out a couple of times – once to Peter Pan’s pizza restaurant in Khao Lak where they did such good pizza! And also to Krua Thai – I’d highly recommend this place but think you’d need to book as it gets very busy. The food at Krua Thai was amazing and it was so reasonably priced, the staff were really friendly too. Not so good… Although the food and drinks were good, they were very pricey compared to outside of the hotel and everywhere else we’d stayed during our stay in Thailand, especially the alcoholic drinks – we were paying London prices! I have to say the Bingham cocktail was to die for though! The beach was nice but it wasn’t as picturesque or as private as I’d imagined.

"Another fabulous holiday at The Sarojin"

   17-03-2017
We have just spent 16 days at the Sarojin. It is the most amazing hotel, and every member of staff went out of their way to make our holiday so wonderful. A special mention to Tar, Son, Peak and James at the beach - so friendly and helpful. An extra special mention to Aoy (at Fiscus) a lovely lady. The food at both The Edge and Fiscus restaurants was excellent. Thanks also to Kade and Alex - great management skills. We will be back!

"Beautiful hotel with fantastic service"

   17-03-2017
We stayed at The Sarojin for six nights on our honeymoon and absolutely loved the hotel. The transfers to and from Phuket airport were very comfortable. The hotel is beautifully designed and although it is not huge, the grounds are very well laid out to make it feel quite spacious. The pool is as beautiful as it looks in photos. We found that there was no problem finding a sun lounger any day and most days people were not reserving them when they left the pool area. We particularly loved the All-Day breakfast option and the delicious pastries. The beach bar is a nice place for a cocktail and the Thai food at the Edge was excellent quality. We loved the seafood bbq on the beach - the setting was fabulous and the staff had clearly put a lot of work into it. We would recommend the snorkelling trip to the Similan Islands on the Lady Sarojin. It is expensive but it was worth it for the quality of the food and comfort on board and also to get to places before they were swamped by other boats. The only very minor negative is that the beach is less private than it appears on photos. There are restaurants and resorts on both sides and a constant flow of people on the beach. The beach staff at the Sarojin do a very good job keeping the service levels consistent with the rest of the resort so it is still a very enjoyable place to spend an afternoon. The service is fantastic throughout the resort and all of the staff seemed happy to be working there. We are so pleased we chose to stay there for our honeymoon and would love to return at some point in the future.

"Managing Errors and Keeping Commitments"

   16-03-2017
This review is focused on two specific issues. An error in the pick up from Phuket Airport. 24 hours before my arrival "Fon" and I exchanged E Mails confirming flight details and I would be exiting through the domestic terminal. The driver sat for 30/40 minutes waiting at the International Terminal until another brand representative on my behalf telephoned the hotel, the number I had been provided with missed a digit, and hey presto the driver appears. At no time was this error, which I learned was a repeat of an error four days before addressed. How a property responds to an error or a misunderstanding is often the making of a deeper more lucrative relationship. Apart from a shrug from Mia on the front desk I received nothing. Pick up and the first ten minutes at the location set the tone of the stay. I now had to manage my way out of this and I did in no small part due to the lovely couple who had suffered the same problem. A Change to previously made agreements. The following morning Khun Sam advised me after attending a management meeting that the hotel intended to renege on the agreements for excursions set out in an E Mail sent to me on the 29th November on the grounds it required a minimum of 2 persons (the previous year it had been established that on the ground for a solo traveller this requirement can be waived). Sam and I had a frank exchange of views (she was unaware of the previous days error) and she to her great credit got the message I was conveying and the excursions went ahead and were absolutely superb. I wish the Sarojin and their delightful staff continued success (the creative towel arrangements were even better this year thank you "guys") but the management of this hotel might benefit from re looking at ways to handle the inevitable errors that occur so that any loss of goodwill is immediately made good by offering real and measurable recompense which then communicates to the client that they really are concerned for their uninterrupted enjoyment of their time at the Sarojin. It doesn't have to be much but it has to be tangible. As for the cancelling and re instating of the excursions that was simply clumsy I can think of a number of very easy ways this could have been handled without causing me yet again to call upon my own mental resources of determination and a positive mental attitude. In all other respects my views chime with others here, though I agree with the critique of the Beach area it is set right next to a very large cafe and loungers business. I am not likely to return a third time not because of the foregoing but because my views of how I like to organise these breaks on the way back to the UK is constantly evolving and so are the options available. I have rated this stay average but some bits were poor and others excellent but that is more the short comings of the review system.

"Indulgent luxury - a honeymooner's paradise"

   14-03-2017
We decided upon Thailand as a honeymoon destination and booked The Sarojin as part of a 15-night trip through Turquoise Holidays. We went in early December 2016, and this hotel was our last stop – we spent 7 nights here. Khao Lak as an area is simply beautiful, and The Sarojin itself lives up to that beauty fully; when you arrive into the reception, you are greeted by a member of their staff and are truly treated like royalty. We stayed in one of their garden residence suites, which is beautifully laid out with a huge bed and wonderful open-plan bathroom towards the back of the room, equipped with a Thai sala! The pool is just as stunning, although we didn’t actually spend any time there; it does get extremely busy and unfortunately, the old adage of sunbed saving via towels was quite apparent! The Sarojin has its own stretch of beach which is private and is laid to sunbeds and parasols; the staff on hand are wonderful, and will help you move your sunbed into your desired location. The Sarojin is an adults-only hotel, however the stretch of beach directly next to it is a public beach, so be aware – children will be seen at this resort. We went on a number of excursions during our stay at this hotel, and Sam and her team were absolutely wonderful in making sure we had the most amazing time – we thoroughly recommend a trip to the Similan Islands with Ou on the Lady Sarojin. We witnessed a sea turtle swimming freely within the coral, and the lunch served was absolutely incredible – a full seafood platter! We did also have the private sunset cocktail cruise booked, but unfortunately owing to bad weather, we couldn’t go on this. Our last experience was the private seafood BBQ on the beach – this was absolutely incredible. We ate under the wedding tree about 500 yards away from the hotel, on the beach. The food was beautiful and our private chef and waiter were a wonderful addition. Pathways Spa is another must when staying here – although expensive, the massages are utterly indulgent. I thoroughly recommend the Sun Calming treatment – 2 hours of utter bliss! In our opinion, the standout element of The Sarojin was the food – you have two main places to eat, The Edge and Ficus. The Edge is located just off the beach facing the sea, and is a fantastic place for lunch and cocktails whilst watching the sunset. The menu is comprised of Thai dishes and is just fantastic. In contrast, Ficus offers more western cuisine, but is equally amazing – you are also located in front of an amazing large pond; the moonlight reflections at night are incredible. There is also an added bonus of the wine cellar being right next to this restaurant! Breakfast in the mornings is fully a la carte, and you have the added bonus of being able to enjoy the first meal of the day at any time up until 5pm! Ultimately The Sarojin is an incredible destination and perfect for honeymooning couples; we wouldn’t hesitate in staying here again.
