"Birthday getaway!"

This is my second time to Montego Bay, Jamaica First time at this resort. Absolutely LOVE the beach! It was private and not overly busy! Buffet was decent! I found that there was lack of direction when you arrive! NO information on allowed A la carte restaurants. They kinda just checked us in and then you are on your own! The room we were in did NOT have a mini fridge so you did not have water in your room which I found to be so weird. The bathroom was also very small so I would suggest you upgrade to a larger room for comfort and a mini fridge! Excursions: Negril sunset and 7 mile beach was great minus the fact that we got left behind twice and ended up having to take a taxi to chase the bus down when we wanted to go to Negril...all part of the story I guess!! Rose Hall Shopping Center was an adventure interesting to see how many stores carry the same thing! BARGAIN BARGAIN BARGAIN. Nothing too authentic at this shopping center but it is VERY safe! Luminous Lagoon was cool, far less amazing than they say...the bottom of the water feels like "peanut butter" as they say but I did personally felt disgusting when I got out of the water!!! But it is cool to see if you have never seen it before. This excursion I could have done without!!! Bob Marley Tour is hands down the best excursion! Its so awesome to see the towns and real people in their real life. I personally enjoyed this excursion the most and not because of the Ganja as I dont participate in that but its still so fantastic! Evening Entertainment was alright I wished to have heard more Reggae music and more cultural themed shows.

"Great for families "

   21-01-2017
I'm starting off this review by saying that my husband and I have been spoiled by staying at several high end all-inclusives in the Carribean, mostly adults only. This was our first time taking our 2 children, ages 7 and 9, to an all- inclusive. We stayed for just 4 nights, so I wanted a resort close to the airport. Although there were several noticeable things that keep this hotel from being much more than just average, it worked out really well for the kids. The kids snack bar with all you can eat ice cream, nachos, popcorn, etc was a huge hit! We were able to let the kids grab a snack while my husband and I stayed in our lounge chairs by the pool. It felt very safe and not so big that our kids could get lost. All of us also enjoyed the Barefoot Grill by the pool for burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches and fried fish and french fries. There was a coke fountain at the bar that you could help yourself to when there were actually clean cups available. We LOVED the island. I liked that it was super close and the water was shallow so I didn't have to get soaked to get over there. We snorkeled on the right of the island by the rocks and saw tons of fish. We got some bread from the buffet at breakfast and also the Barefoot Grill for feeding the fish. The kids loved it. I will say that there was a woman 2 different days lying on the island topless sunbathing. To each their own, but a little strange since there were kids everywhere and it is a family resort! My kids mentioned it but then just went about what they were doing and didn't seem to be bothered but it, so no big deal lol! I am a very picky eater but I definitely didn't go hungry. There was a big selection on the buffets and even I found something. The menus for the a la carte restaurants only had a few items. The Jamaican restaurant did not impress. The atmosphere was kind of boring and our waiter barely acknowledged us. Italian was on the other side of the wall and it was much better! We were going to pay the surcharge to go to the Japanese restaurant on our last night but then found out it was closed. All in all, the food was just okay, but no one is going to go hungry. Entertainment was so so. Activities were on a schedule daily but then the time would come and the activity never happened. They did spend an hour or so having games for the kids by the pool which was great. They even won prizes. We were all disappointed by nightly entertainment though. It was just music. Don't get me wrong, the singers were pretty good, but singing every night gets boring for kids. They did have a guy in a light up costume one night making balloon animals for the kids. Different and cute. Would of liked to have seen fire show, acrobatics, something fun for kids besides just music. Rooms were not good. Oh, and like I read in many reviews, the air conditioning was extremely LOUD and annoying at night kicking on and off. We never had a good nights sleep. Also-no fault of the hotel I guess but my daughter and I spotted a gigantic cockroach crawling underneath a door into someone's room!! She was freaked out that we were going to have one in our room too! Weather was wonderful! Forecast called for rain at least a few of the days we were there...one time I ran up to the room quick to grab something and it had apparently rained for a minute or 2 while I was gone and then back to beautiful. Don't let rain in forecast scare you. So, I would recommend for families who are not expecting luxury. I would not recommend for adult couples, as there are so many nicer places. We always end up back in Mexico...luxurious 5 star resorts, very friendly people who always answer with "it's a pleasure", and excellent prices. You get more for your money.

"Amazing!! "

Visited this hotel 2 weeks before Christmas, as my partner is a spire member we went into the VIP lounge we're we got offered a refreshing cocktail and also a cold cloth to cool us down as was really hot!. The VIP gold sparkly band is good gives you access to the club lounge with champagne and other food. Shame the band Kept coming off and was covered in glitter for 2 weeks. Had an amazing room. Overlooking the sea! Shame couldn't see the sunrise or sunset as on other side of hotel but was still amazing view. Drinks were nice not watered down and staff were very friendly.. the food was really nice and did Vary from day to day. Entertainment was good something different each night, they do a Micheal Jackson night and we missed it as was still set lagged coming from England but we heard it was very good! Visited all restaurant bar the Japanese as didn't take our fancy. But the sea food was our best!! We had the lobster and steak but as I don't eat steak they gave me 2 lobster tails which were amazing and really really big! If you do end up going out hotel I would visit ricks cafe go in bed and spend all day there. Get to see beautiful sunset. Drinks are good and lots of food to choose from. Also there's a pool so take your bikini. Overall mine and my partners experience on this hotel and Jamaica in general was perfect! Will deffo be returning as we made a couple of nice people out there who go every year. 🏝🌞

"Birthday Celebration"

   18-01-2017
The lights went out 5 times yesterday at the resort. The key cards stopped working and we had to keep going back to guest services. Took a cab across the street from the hotel but didn't get dropped off at correct place. Take taxis in front of hotel will cost more but they will wait on you and take you where you want to go. Hotel is ok I've stayed at better. Would give it 3 stars.

Great All-Inclusive on Montego Bay. Hotel gave us a free upgrade with ocean view. This hotel has everything for a great vacation. The food was good and we enjoyed the Japanese restaurant at additional fee, but well worth the fee. All kinds of water sports, and activities for the family
