"Beautiful setting, service isn't 5* "

   21-11-2017
An absolutely stunning setting, gorgeous scenery, quiet, lots of bird life, wonderful diving on the doorstep, it could and should be 5*, but it felt disorganised and so doesn't currently meet the standards i have had from other 5* small hotels I went there to dive - having previously emailed to that effect only to find the dive shop closed. I was told diving would be organised for day 2 of my trip, and then in the evening that it would be available in a few more days!! I sorted my own diving with a local operator who were fab and collected me daily from BWI. BWI could have given me the details but didn't. The tobago food on the menu was nice, but very limited in choice and so repetitive when staying 10 days. A number of items weren't available. Service was extremely slow when we arrived and my breakfast eggs didn't come in the hour before i had to leave a couple of times, so i went without. One evening we waited over an hour for a table and then another hour for the food to come. Service speed did seem to improve over the length of our stay and so hopefully this will continue. The staff at the hotel are all established and very friendly, as were all the people we met on tobago, and an asset to the hotel. I understand the manager is new. We stayed in a beach bungalow which was very nice, but in need of some minor upkeep - oiling stiff door locks, a missing handle on a drawer, replacing the fresh flowers in the room when they died rather than leave them to dry out, no beach towels available; the details that distinguish 3* from 5*. I was glad to see the infinity pool topped up to the max before we left. The grounds are filled with different types of birds, hummingbirds, pelicans and nice gardens. We hired a car for the day to see some of the island. BWI was a little chaotic at the start of our trip but improved over the 10 days - its a stunning setting with beautiful scenery and hotel grounds and has lots of bird life and over 40 dive sites within 10 mins boat ride.

"Fabulous place!"

   19-11-2017
We have just returned from a 10 days stay at Blue Waters Inn. What a place! Stunning view from the beach, restaurant and pool, really comfortable well appointed rooms and very friendly staff. We are not bird watchers but sitting by the well kept infinity pool watching pelicans dive bomb for their supper and the visit to Little Tobago island, courtesy of Randy, the knowledgeable guide from Frank T glass bottom boats, could almost convert us. It's an hours drive from the airport but with it comes absolute peace in a gorgeous bay surrounded by rain forest and with only the sound of the waves to listen to. This should be a five star review but sadly the food let BWI down. The menu felt tired with the food very formulaic and expensive. Where were the local dishes? Hamburgers and spare ribs can be eaten anywhere. Boiled frozen mixed veg with every choice and how come most nights the ice cream was 'too soft' to be served? The restaurant staff couldn't have been more helpful, especially smiling Erica and quietly caring Dora, and when requested, they organised two nights of delicious local food obviously more lovingly prepared then anything we ate all week. We loved BWI and want to return soon with friends. Come on management, sort out the food and you will get a faultless five stars!

"Peaceful and Lush"

We stayed here for 1 week, ending November 5, 2017. We enjoyed the "Deluxe Studio" accommodation on the main floor: it was roomy, with a king-size bed and kitchen/dining facilities. A few comments: 1. Staff was lovely: helpful and kind. 2. Location is stunning: a green jewel set inside a lovely bay. Would recommend a rental car as it allowed us max flexibility. 3. Breakfast was very good, especially dishes ordered off the menu (loved the cod & bakes). 4. Lots to see and do: bird-watching, scuba diving, hiking. 5. Ate a light dinner here: delicious, but a tad pricey. Would recommend local eating establishments; for example, Suckhole and Sharon/Phebs are really good restaurants in nearby Charlottesville. Also, the very local roti takeouts were yummy. A few concerns/suggestions for improvement: 1. This resort's web site includes an on-site scuba diving operation (Blue Waters Dive'N). I contacted them 5 weeks prior to our arrival. I was advised re: costs, dive schedule, and relevant paperwork that was required. I had planned for 5 days of diving. When I turned up at the dive shop, gear in hand and paperwork completed, I found the dive shop was closed, not to re-open for at least another few weeks. No one advised me/updated me on this! When I checked with Reception, I was told that the dive shop communicates separate and apart from the resort. Resort staff does not have access to email info from incoming guests who are expecting to dive. As an alternative, the Reception staff member referred me to a "freelancer" in Speyside who could oversee my diving agenda. It was a bit of a scramble, but I eventually did sign on with "Spencer" for 3 days of diving. He's a very bright, personable young man: smart, professional and intuitive. My 1500+ dives have taken me all over the planet--I would highly recommend Spencer. I mention this because I think Blue Waters Inn should have some kind of communication linkage with the on-site dive op, if and when it re-opens. No one at Blue Waters Dive'N ever took the time to update me that they were no longer in operation--I was blind-sided. 2. We liked the layout of our room, but one suggestion for improvement to "freshen it up" would be attention to re-painting, as the ceiling was very streaky, making it look half-finished. 3. I would also recommend guests use an insect repellent as the no-see-ums were ever-present! We thought the room door might need a tighter fit or caulking to keep out the critters.

"Best of the best. "

What can i say. Traveled Tobago for 2 weeks and returned the seekend to Blue Water Inn. Staff is so kind and want the best for the guests. I even was upgraded and got my own jacuzzi the seekend stay. Dont miss this place when u are on TnT. Its explosive😉.

"Upgraded and peaceful"

   31-10-2017
Had a great weekend at this peaceful resort on a cove. The setting is gorgeous, and you're never away from the rush of the waves. If too many people find BWI, it might get crowded, but that definitely was not a problem during my stay. It's a small place, perfect for sitting and watching the water, but there are also activities available. It is clear that management is making efforts to upgrade facilities and service. Staff was kind, and the simple room was comfortable. I had all meals in the on-site restaurant and found them to be quite good. The dive shop is currently shut down but will reportedly re-open soon. There are other dive operators nearby that will pick you up. My suggestions: Give the glass-bottom boat operators a desk that guests can approach if they desire. Having them sitting around and calling out gives the grimy feel of touts. Keep working on the small maintenance issues in the rooms. Improve response to e-mail inquiries to all published addresses. Overall, an entirely enjoyable and relaxing stay. I'll be back.
