"Fantastic location"

   22-02-2018
The location is simply fantastic, right on the waters edge in it's own secluded bay with views of Little Tobago and Goat Island. This was the third hotel we stayed in on our two week trip, chosen as it is in the north of the island. Our superior sea view room was large enough but had two queens instead of a king size bed, and the balcony was rather small. We upgraded to a one bedroom villa on the beach, much more room with a good sized terrace, and two loungers - there were only 6 by the small pool & those along the beach had to be moved up under the trees at high tide. The staff were friendly once you made an effort to get to know them. Service for our first lunch was incredibly slow but thereafter not so bad. Plenty of choice on the bar & restaurant menus & the food was delicious. Both the curry buffet & the BBQ buffet were very tasty but sadly the food was cold. We had a great trip to Little Tobago for bird watching & snorkelling with Frank's tours, also took a taxi to Flag Staff hill & Charlotteville. We walked the short 10 minute trail to the beautiful Pirates Bay, though it is possible to get a boat ride from local fishermen. The information sheet we were given in arrival needs updating, as several things on it are not current. Watch that you are not charged for food if you are on full board - we were & only noticed on check out. The management were very apologetic and soon corrected our bill, but we found this to be another example of lack of communication between management & staff. Overall we really enjoyed our stay though we were very disappointed that there was an unwillingness to provide a room for showering and dressing on our last day, when we had to check out at 11 but didn't leave til 3.30. Every hotel we have stayed in over the last 5 trips to the Caribbean have offered such a facility and we would encourage the management to consider it ( especially when the hotel is not full, as was the case during our stay.)

"Lovely lunch and snorkel trip "

   15-02-2018
Fantastic afternoon snorkelling Angel Reef off Goat Island in North Tobago thanks to Frank’s Glassbottom boat tours. Thanks most beautiful loving coral I’ve ever see. Excellent visibility. This followed a lovely lunch at the blue waters inn restaurant. A truly idyllic spot worth the trek up the island to visit.

"Back to a Gem "

Well second time to blue waters, what a warm welcome from staff we befriended last year Erica, Dora,Sylister, my apologies for Not remembering everyone . This such a lovely place to stay not a big hotel so you can get to know the staff, it's tucked away surrounded by lush forested area with plenty of wildlife to see just by wandering around the grounds to start with. Being on uk time you'll be up at four am the next morning so use this time to see the early morning wildlife and go down to the jetty and watch sun come up over little Tobago (see pictures). We had three day wind down before are jeep arrived from sheppies car rentals would advised a jeep so you can explore some hard to reach beaches and places down old tracks. Their has been some reports of lack of choice on menu, this person either cannot read or has a poor palet. Found menu more than adicquate my favourite was the batteaux Bay salad with shrimp fruit, walnuts yummy. Breakfast has a good choice loved the tobagian salt fish. Trips are in abundance from a variety of operators we use Peter cox nature tours as have found him to be one of the best, touring around the island is a good experience, plan to have a bit of sun in the morning head out and turn right towards Charlotte'sville aiming to get their for midday stop at suckle hole for lunch then set of from their and take old coast road (slowly) as you will see lots of wildlife, landslides, fallen trees weather dependent. Short route you can go back through rain forest road and back to speyside or carry on. If you have rain at speyside you can drive down to pigeon point for a bit of sun but it does get busy especially if a cruise ship has docked. Their are many things to see around the island old sugar Mills old colonial houses (Richmond House) and villages up In the hills somethings are very sobering, old slave trade buildings in Scarborough!. We have found Tobago a safe place to holiday as long as you use your common sense, Sunday school is a must for first visit starts at nine with calypso then at 11 you get modern tabagian music until five in the morning if your up for it lots of local characters on the dance floor looking for a chance! (So be aware) . Please don't be put off just be aware and get their early as by 10 you'll be walking along way. Street food is on tap all good. Sorry if this rambles off in all directions but that's me as I love the place and want to get everyone to come to Tobago but not spoil it engage with people and you will happy if you make a friend its for life. Back to blue waters, cannot praise the staff enough they make this place work. Had a management change gear since last year, not a engaging person seemed only interested in a person that was a serial complainer didn't engage with guests to see how they were enjoying their stay. Friday Gérard comes down and plays his pan for you good friend now as I had him play for Janet's 50th on the veranda when we were staying at coconut heights in castara. Picture allocation is not enough for what you need to see, but have loads on my Instagram site of Tobago. Don't follow the crowd to Antigua or St Lucia go to Tobago. 😆

"Wonderful location on unspoilt Tobago"

   22-01-2018
Had a weeks stay here, part of BA holiday. First and foremost the location is stunning. Completely on its own, right by the waters edge and with its own private bay (Batteux bay). The sea is great for a swim and is slightly warmer than the infinity hotel pool. There is a tennis court and a nice games room with table tennis and table football. For those interested there is a dive shop and boat trips out for diving. Also boat trips to nearby Little Tobago. Birdwatching trips and rain forest expeditions can be organised from the hotel. We found the staff helpful, friendly and typicaaly laid back, caribean style. Meals are expensive and tend to be a bit samey after a while. The best eal we had was a barbeque which they did around the pool one evening. They also had a curry night which we missed. The hotel is at the opposite end of the island from the airport. The transfer takes approx. 1.5 hours and is a bit of an ordeal on small very windy roads.

"Beautiful setting and views; excellent lunch"

   22-01-2018
This is a truly Caribbean dream setting for a restaurant, which we visited twice for lunch. The food was very tasty and there was a wide range of international and local dishes. Service is attentive and genuinely friendly. Well worth the trip to visit, particularly if you want to try the trip to the reef and Little Tobago Island.
