"One of the Finest"

We recently stayed at The Breakers to attend a wedding. It was our first visit to this iconic hotel. The service is by far the finest I have ever experienced in my travels. We flew to Florida at the tail end of our vacation in Turks and Caicos. The wedding was black tie so we shipped our formal attire to The Breakers in advance. When we arrived, we were notified that our gown and tux had been steamed/pressed and hanging in the closet in our room. Our shoes had been polished, wrapped in tissue and placed in shoe boxes. Considering we had but a few minutes to change for the rehearsal dinner, this was such a relief. 'The following morning, I took part in an aqua fitness class that was fabulous. I also had a mani-pedi at the spa. One of the best ever -- the polish lasted nearly 2 weeks and they give you the bottle of polish for any touch ups! Our room was nice, not fabulous. Our view was not the best but we had delayed making a reservation so we were happy to have nabbed one of the remaining rooms with a King bed. The bed was comfortable with high-end bedding, and the room was well attended to. If I were to have any criticism it would be: (1) The rooms are small for such an opulent hotel. I realize this is because the hotel is historic and room size in older hotels tend to be smaller. No big deal. (2) We stayed in a room with an adjoining door. While we heard nothing from anyone in the hallway, above us, below us, etc., we could hear every conversation from the adjoining room. TIP: Definitely ask about whether your room has an adjoining door and request one without. Honestly, these were minor when considering how beautiful this hotel is and how much we enjoyed our stay. Every employee at The Breakers has but one objective: to ensure you have what you need and to do so with a smile. We could not have asked for more in a hotel.

"Beautiful hotel and beach, one bad apple"

This hotel is gorgeous. The facilities and service are exceptional. I have food preferences and they accommodated these with no extra effort needed at the buffet and at 4:30am when extreme extra effort was needed from in room dining. The Ocean Room was AMAZING when I ordered the Tuna Bowl (half) with greens no rice and edamame where there was none. DELICIOUS! I exercise daily and the fitness facilities were premium. I am thinking about changing the flooring in my home gym to match. It is a luxury experience without a doubt. This is my second visit, associated with a conference, and I look forward to returning to the extensive Christmas decorations and holiday spirit. I do NOT recommend the banquet meal. This year I ate before the formal dinner which did disappoint (crunch in a crab cake will always be perceived as pieces of shell and how did they make a rare steak dry?). But forgiven (reference Tuna Bowl above). I am less forgiving of the employee who asked me and my guest for key tag ID (after seeing my conference badge) when strolling the sidewalk in front of the fitness center, a place I have walked without ID countless times, that day and many others, but never before with a black man. Your racial bias is showing Miss.

"Iconic Hotel"

One of the Grand Hotels in America. Beautiful grounds and open spaces. Terrific service and you do pay for it. Expensive. Lunch in HMF was a little ridiculous in terms of price ($10 for Fiji water, $24 for 2 fish tacos, etc). Quality of food is good but not fantastic. The experience was worthwhile because they do make you feel special. Hotel room is modest in size. One can certainly find better value but you didn't come to the Breakers for value. Relax and enjoy the experience-you're in Palm Beach. If you want a value priced place, this isn't it.

beautiful grounds, rooms are nothing special...bathroom was quite dated, water kept leaking out of the bottom of our toilet. Service lacked at times, waited around awhile for someone to serve us and once served, orders were messed up. It was very minimal though and our stay was fantastic and if going to palm beach, i would highly recommend staying here.

"Very Overpriced - Only Good as a Status Symbol"

This hotel is very overpriced - those who appreciate 20th century vintage architecture might enjoy this hotel and those seeking bragging rights, all others, please look elsewhere. The rooms were VERY small for the price paid $600+. This is a five-star hotel with five-star pricing, and I was expecting much more. My hotel room needed a modern refresh - the floors have dirt-stained grout, the comforter was yellowing, and the shower needs to be re-caulked. The restaurants on property have last seating at 8:45 pm! I saw plenty of people who were turned away because the restaurant maintained their strict last seating call. I had to fuss with the hostess to have my family seated five-minutes before the call, with an obvious half-full restaurant, very rude in my opinion. The only other option for on-property dining after 8:45 pm was the tapas lounge in the main wing of the hotel. This is the perfect hotel for the retirement-age crowd. The only way I would be going back was if I expensed this through business or if I was attending a wedding. Those seeking a luxurious getaway, go to the St. Regis or Ritz Carlton in Bal Harbour, much better bang for your hard-earned buck.
