"Does not live up to M Gallery equity"
For an global chain, the service is slow and reactive. We had to drag our luggage across the street while the staff looked over from their desks, seemingly surprised that we were checking in despite visibly heading in that direction. I've been a gold member for some years now and every single time I check in (already providing the departure flight details), the staff is able to provide an indication of how late I can check out. The manager had to wait for me to go back to the desk to remind him about the unanswered question during check in. Then there was the incident of the umbrella. We took one of the hotel umbrellas at the front desk and went to a restaurant 300m away, as we were leaving the rain poured and we were happy to have had the foresight of bringing an umbrella. The umbrella was defective and did not lock - we promptly googled the contact number of the hotel, which apparently was the number of sofitel (another Accor hotel). The staff at sofitel said they were going to send someone over to help. We waited for 30mins, knowing how service is much slower in Laos, then when we called back, they said to call 3 Nagas directly instead! When we did call 3 Nagas, the staff kept insisting for us to go back and get the spare umbrella from our room, disregarding the heavy rains. When I talked to the manager, he said to wait 15 mins (again, remember restaurant is 300m away). Good thing the restaurant owner lent me an umbrella to go get a working one for my wife! When I got to 3 Nagas, the manager was lounging around with 3 of his staff smiling at the computer with no other guests. All he gave was excuses thereafter. My most horrible experience in an Accor chain. And I was so looking forward to this stay. The rooms weren't great either, especially the bathroom. Satri or Belle Rive were better options.
"Charming Heritage Hotel Stay"
We stayed as a family of 3 with a teenage son in this lovely heritage hotel. Unfortunately we only stayed for one night but it was thoroughly enjoyable. The manager and staff are welcoming and efficient. The heritage room was big enough for a trundle bed for my son quite comfortably. Our room was at the rear of the property and overlooked a lovely garden area. The room is well appointed, beds comfortable and quality linen. The toiletries are good quality. We were not troubled by excess noise. Breakfast was a good standard - you order from the menu and there are also a small amount of buffet items like fruit, pastries, yoghurt. The coffee was very good. The hotel is well located in the central area of town and a short walk to the night markets just down the same street. There are many restaurants and boutique shops all around. We walked one day to the Sofitel to use their pool but you could easily use one of the hotel bikes and cycle instead. A tuk tuk ride back to the 3 Nagas cost 30000 kip. Wifi works well.
Very conveniently located. Not too far from the excitement and not too close to all the "noise". We enjoyed our stay here and the operations manager Mr Aurelien Camart was exceptional in his recommendations and provided assistance above what was expected. The food and drinks from the hotel restaurant was also to a very high standard and not particularly pricy when compared to the restaurants of similar standards down the lane from where we are. Overall this was a very good outing for us. Thank you Mr. Camart!
"3Nagas Hotel - The Perfect Choice For Us"
We were fortunate to receive some excellent advice from experienced travellers in the Trip Advisor Forum before our first trip to Laos, as a result of which we booked accommodation at 3 Nagas. We were visiting from Singapore and had a 3-night stay, fitting in with Silk Air’s flight schedule. On arrival, we knew we had made the right choice. The French manager Aurelian and his able Laotian staff could not have been more helpful. Our room #6 above the main entrance had a creaking floor but an imposing four poster bed which was one of the most comfortable we have ever experienced, great shower pressure and a broad private balcony with a commanding view through the tree canopy over the streetscape and heritage buildings opposite. It was also a great vantage point from which to see the daily alms procession of the monks the next morning. The facilities offered by 3 Nagas were ideal for our stay: participation on the alms procession was happily arranged; use of hotel bicycles to cycle around the local area was fun; breakfast at the heritage building opposite watching the town stir to life and enjoying the wonderful garden was a great start to the day; and the connection with the Sofitel where we could use the pool and enjoy discounted rates at the Spa was greatly enjoyed. 3 Nagas, which is easy walking distance from so many attractions including the museum, the night market and many shops and restaurants, was the perfect choice for us.
"Outstanding boutique hotel in the middle of old town"
We had an excellent 2 night stay at 3 Nagas Hotel. Some highlights: - The hotel is comprised of 3 historical houses converted into 15 rooms. The hotel is postcard beautiful. The photos do it justice! I think this hotel is for a more adventureous traveler who prefers a more authentic experience vs. resort like luxury. We are in the former! If one prefers resort like seclusion then I think the main Sofitel a bit away from town is for you. - The staff was very friendly and helpful. Their English proficency was in general very good. Vong was especially helpful to us, from checking us in to arranging our experience the last day before we depart because we had an evening flight out. More on that later... - Location: Smack in the middle of old town. Cannot beat the location. Walking distance to local restaurants, bars, night market and most sights. - We stayed in room 6 which has a nice veranda overlooking the street and the morning alm ritual. - Breakfast was good - good mix of Asian food and western fare. Choice was a bit more limited than other Asian hotel breakfasts we've been to. - As mentioned earlier, on our last day we had an evening flight out, so we decided to book a massage in the afternoon after checkout at the sister property Sofitel. The hotel car came to pick us up so it was super convenient. The massage was good and the spa facilities were very pretty. Good way to spend an afternoon! We dined at 2 nearby restaurant - L'Elephant and Tamarind. Both extensively reviewed on TripAdvisor and both were excellent. L'Elephant has great ambiance in addition to good food. Overall, great stay at 3 Nagas.
