"A great small hotel"
My wife and I stayed here and had a spectacular time. This was our second time to Luang Prabang and this hotel is our favorite so far. Right on the main road in the historical center; get a room upstairs with a balcony in the main building where reception is and enjoy an evening meal and a nice glass of wine while watching the slow pace of life unfold below you on the street. Very clean; rustic charm; and very comfortable.
"Wonderful 3 nights stay"
Wife picked a place to stay I thoroughly enjoyed. Staff is friendly, helpful and we had many laughs throughout our stay which really made our holiday memorable. Complimentary bicycle was a nice value add. I would encourage the use as you can see more of city. Locals are very accommodating on the road so no problem cycling. Spa at Sofitel (discounted for guest) good option to relax body.
"Good and beautiful boutique hotel"
We spent 2 nights in this hotel. Love the Laos-French style villa that are so well kept. We wanted to be in the old town and to be close to all the interesting places. The location is excellent for such purpose! The room is unique and beautiful. Staff is attentive and friendly. Breakfast is good with variety of dishes both international and Laos'. One thing....we would have like to have more drinking water in the room. All in all we had a good stay! Thank you.
"Timeless elegance in a stunning town."
We stayed 5 nights and felt perfectly at home and we wished we could have stayed more. The hotel was everything we expected and more. We had read about what a beautiful historic building it is and how charming the staff are, but when you arrive and see the vintage car, and the beautiful gardens it doesn't quite feel real - almost like you've stepped back in time to another era. We arrived earlier than expected, wet, bruised and very tired from a 3 day kayaking trip. Despite it only being 10am and us looking dirty and bedraggled, the team gave us welcome drinks and had us checked into our room right away. The staff also booked me into the spa straight away to help recover from the kayaking and arranged a car to take me to the sister hotel where the spa was located. First impressions of the room were 'wow, we made a good choice.' Beautiful dark wood furnishing, including some lovely intricate lattice carvings on the wall. A huge, very comfortable four poster bed complete with mosquito net curtains and a nice comfy sofa. The decor was lovely, with nicely tiled bathroom and nice ethnic touches like little elephant statues and local cushions and photos / paintings. We had a lovely big veranda out the front of the room where you could watch the world go by, this was perfect for watching the mornings alms giving from a polite distance and seeing the parade go past for the Festival of Lights. We had a window that looked out over the private gardens at the back too. There was free coffee and tea in the room in jars which were refilled every day (they were all delicious) and a bottle of water every day too. There were lovely local toiletries provided (chamomile shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion). There was an evening turn down service and the housekeepers left a different little sweet treat wrapped in banana leaves every day. There was also a fruit bowl which was well stocked, complete with napkin, plate and fruit knife. We were also provided with a beautiful flower float, complete with candles to put in the river as part of the Festival of Lights and I received a delicious birthday cake (banana and chocolate I think) with candles and a little note. Breakfast was served in the little cafe downstairs, which was also decorated beautifully and a great place to watch the world go by too. There was a nice selection of fruits, pastries, cereals and yoghurt as part of the buffet. There was also hot food to order. We tried most of it, Lao and Western and it was all delicious. The coffee and tea are superb and I love the crockery it is served in - with the little milk jugs etc. There were free bikes that could be used to explore the local area, and we were offered advice on routes if we wanted them. There were tours which could be booked, although we didn't use this service. We ate in the restaurant twice and it was our favourite meals of our south east Asia trip so far. I won't say any more on this as I have written a separate review of the restaurant. We also used the facilities as the sister hotel, the Sofitel, the food was delicious there and the pool in the gardens is a little haven of tranquility. Again, I've written separate reviews for these. Finally a word on the team. The service is impeccable, professional but warm and we loved chatting with the staff in between food and cocktails! I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
"Beautiful little hotel with outstanding staff"
We stayed here for five nights in a gorgeous room above the restaurant. Very comfortable and tasteful hotel. It was perfect for our visit to this beautiful and very laid back place. The staff are truly outstanding and we felt very welcome here.
