"Feels like home!"
We enjoyed our 3-night stay very much; the Deluxe rooms with balcony are very beautiful and give a warm feeling, with wooden floors and very large terrace with good easy-chairs to relax and enjoy what is going on around in the street. The bed is super-comfortable, with a good bathroom. Breakfast is also delicious. The restaurant is top-class, serving authentic Lao-dishes as well. Price-qualtiy is quite correct; the restaurant -terrace is very nice to sit. We loved Luang Prabang with its easy-going way of life. With the hotel-bikes - free for guests - we discovered the whole city; location is phantastic. Accor-members: check your points, it can be hard to obtain these! However, we can recommend this hotel, the boutique-style and the care of the House-Manager, Mr.Kao, who wants to make your stay unforgettable, give you that warm feeling.
"Great downtown location - just a little noisy"
We stayed here for 2 nights at the start of our stay in Laos Prabang. Whilst it's at the quiet end of the town the hotel itself can be a little noisy. The hotel is split into 2 blocks - they are just over the road from one another. We stayed above the main reception and restaurant area which has a lot of history and a lot of its original features. Room was a little dark but this was in keeping with the style of the hotel. Perfect location for seeing the Buddhist Alms Giving Ceremony at sunrise and walking into town for the night Market and other bars and restaurants. Dinner at 3 Nagas was excellent but a little expensive for Laos Prabang.
The hotel could not be more perfectly located - within walking distance of all the sites and the monks "alms giving" procession passes by the door (which is very convenient given the procession starts at 5:30am!). The building is beautiful and has been restored perfectly - heritage with all the mod-cons. Our room (7) was just beautiful. The hotel also provides free bicycles and access to the facilities (e.g. swimming pool) of the sister Sofitel hotel. The French (?) hotel manager is really excellent, and has a nice gentle confidence in handling all issues to a perfect solution. The only tiny gripe is that the hotel does not run as perfectly when the French or other managers are not clearly present e.g. on our last day someone had forgotten to arrange our hotel airport transfer (which was 15 minutes late - although we had left plenty of time so no real issue), and used breakfast items often do not get cleared so we ended up having to put them on other tables to make room. A manager may wish to oversee the breakfast service. These are small gripes and in no way should put you off enjoying this otherwise excellent hotel.
"Pretty hotel - shame about the noise "
We stayed three nights. The hotel is based in three very attractive original buildings on either side of the main road leading to the Old Quarter. Staff wear traditional costume and are all very attentive. Our room was beautiful and extremely comfortable with lots of extra touches like beautiful four poster bed, cafetiere and good coffee, fruit bowl, luxury toiletries etc. Guests can borrow bikes free of charge and can also use the facilities at the sister Sofitel which includes a spa and pool. This was around a 30 minute cycle away. The two things which let the hotel down were the breakfasts which were served in a room open to the road with staff serving by crossing the road with food and drinks. The range and presentation of food for buffet was poor and cooked breakfasts were small portions. Our room was also situated on a busy corner with traffic noise and construction noise from the plot directly opposite. This is not the fault of the hotel but did not allow us to have the restful stay we were hoping for. If you plan to stay here ask for a room away from the adjacent building plot.
"Truly wonderful boutique hotel with a great restaurant"
This is a charming, elegant, spotless, comfortable, friendly hotel in beautiful Luang Prabang, Laos. It is a true boutique hotel, with only 15 rooms. The hotel itself is comprised of three Lao/French style houses which are more than 100 years old with beautiful wooden floors, wooden ceilings, and wooden shutters which are closed over the windows at night. In addition to all the historic elegance, the friend I'm traveling with and I agree that the 3 Nagas chef make the best chocolate ice cream we've ever had. We managed to consume quite a bit of the ice cream during our three day stay. The hotel is in an excellent location -- an easy walk to the Temples, restaurants, the night market, the Mekong River etc. The staff is exceptional -- great service and lots of good information on everything from what we should pay for local transportation to where we might find certain items. If I return to Luang Prabang I will most definitely stay at 3 Nagas again.
