"Disappointing....."

   24-03-2017
Just returned from a two week stay at the Divi Phoenix. We are owners at Divi Phoenix and have stayed there 10+ times. We have always thought of the Divi Phoenix as our 'home away from home'.....not anymore this time was very different in that it was not what we have been accustomed to, details below: 1. Check In: Horrible...We had requested an early check in as we were leaving a hotel close by and had to check out at 11 am. We arrived at Divi Phoenix at Noon and were given a buzzer which would tell us when our room was ready. We left for a little while but had all of our luggage with us so couldn't go far. Came back at 2:00pm room was still not ready. Waited and waited and finally at 3:45pm the buzzer went off....not impressed. 2. Got to our room which was fine on a higher floor as we had requested. However that night found out the queen size bed was broken, sagged and creaked all night = lousy sleep. 3. To add insult to injury they had a private function at Pure Ocean restaurant that evening which had very loud salsa type music playing until 02:30am. We called the front desk several times after 1:00am complaining and front desk clerk had no idea how long it was scheduled to go on and that he would send security, he also recommended we complain to the front desk manager the following morning. E-mailed the front desk manager and the general manager next morning and told them about the 'broken bed' and the loud party music. Received a response from the general manager later that day and went out. Came back in late afternoon and our room was full of maintenance guys and the head of housekeeping. She informed us they were trying to fix the bed.....I also requested a new mattress as it was past its best. Left again and came back in the early evening. Bed seemed less squeaky and no more sagging. Unfortunately the squeaking and creaking came back a few days later and was never resolved. We requested to be moved to another unit with a king bed this time but was told they were completely sold out. The following Saturday we were offered to be moved to another unit with a king bed but it was an upgrade and therefore would cost us additional $$'s....I told them it should be a free upgrade but never received a response.....we stayed put, husband slept on sleeper bed! 4. Wi-Fi was supposedly being upgraded while we were there.....our Maintenance Dollars at work?? Wi-Fi was intermittent at best and no better than previous visits. All in All a disappointing stay at the Divi Phoenix from the front desk staff to the maintenance staff to the housekeeping staff to the general manager.

"Plumbing Problem"

   20-03-2017
We have been vacationing at the Divi Phoenix for years and have witnessed a much appreciated transformation that includes kitchen renos in the tower and villas, entertainment several nights a week at Pure Beach and Pure Ocean, reliable tower elevator service, etc. That being said, I was very dissatisfied this year with the plumbing. Three out of four weeks I was showering in tubs that did not drain, so I was standing in my own dirty water up to my ankles. Unit 1301 has long been a problem and I was looking forward to moving to 1102, which historically as not had a drainage problem. I requested assistance while in both units, and while in unit 1102, I escalated to a more senior level because the maintenance (snake and drain cleaner) did not yield a positive result. By the end of my 4th week I was still standing in dirty water while showering. Cleanliness is sufficiently important to me that I cannot rate the Phoenix this year more than average. Since I heard similar complaints from some other guests, I'm guessing that there is a broader plumbing issue that needs to be addressed. I hope that the Phoenix staff and management can address this concern. I want to and expect to be delighted.

"Always Great at The Divi Phoenix"

   15-03-2017
Our fifth time in Aruba and we always stay at this resort. We love the pool area and we love the beach area. The Pure Beach swim up pool bar is the best. Great food, great drinks. Pure Ocean restaurant is highly recommended. You can eat at a table right on the sand. We always get a one bedroom unit which is really roomy and comfortable. We take advantage of the full kitchen for many meals during the week. Restaurants and Casinos are all walking distance which we loved. We love Aruba!!!

"Very nice, clean place"

   14-03-2017
Spent a week here. Had a room on the ground floor which I loved. Had a nice patio that was shaded, very near a pool. There were lots of little cabanas to sit under and be shaded around the pool and at the beach. Beach is an inlet so you don't get the big waves. Bus is very easy to use, get a day pass, it's cheaper to go downtown. Or taxi is always available. There is a walkway we discovered this time from the resort all the way to the restaurant's. Nice exercise or evening walk. We ate breakfast at the resort cafe and supper once at the Pure Ocean at resort. The rest were downtown and took a taxi to Red Fish where the locals eat. Wonderful. Did the sunset cruise with drinks and hors d'oeuvres, which is fun and the semi submerged boat to see the sunken WWII ship and tropical fish. Don't recommend it, windows leave a lot to be desired, not very clear. Did take a taxi to the Aloe factory for tour, love their products. Only rained once and cleared up fast. Had lots of clean towels everyday, whicj is such a plus. Everyone speaks English and the water is the best in the world.

"Great vacation"

Stayed at Divi for a week. Check in was fast. Upon arrival room was a little musty. Ants in room , I travel with organic bug spray (recommended) so I sprayed the room, next days ants were few. I felt master bathroom was a little small, jacuzzi was behind door taking up much needed space. Pool area clean, beach a few steps away which I love. Staff friendly and helpful. Overall pleasant stay. I would stay here again.
