"Vacation 2017"

Stayed in the Divi Phoenix Beach Villas, new section... first of all the resort is very nice and in a great location. Loved the pools and the beach and ocean are extremely close and this was great to switch between pool and ocean. We stayed at other places where the beach was extremely long and it deterred us from going in the ocean. My complaints are the kitchen was not fully stocked with cooking supplies although the front desk did arrange for more supplies brought up to the room without incident. I feel this should have been inventoried before new guests arrive. They only give you four of all pieces of silverware. Also, we had to ask for wash rags to shower with. We stayed at many other timeshares and were provided more supplies without having to ask constantly. The other complaint we had was that the bar prices were outrageous.. they have one happy hour a day and have a limited drink menu. Even the drink of the day is not at a discounted price. The bar staff was not friendly unless you were paying those outrageous prices. There again we stayed at other timeshares where you have your choice of any drinks 2 for 1 and they offer 3 happy hours. Finally made our own. On a positive note the free wifi is a PLUS. This is the first time we stayed at a timeshare and the wifi was free. We loved the set up and the location of the resort and would stay again but I wish they would improve their practices.

Everything about Divi Phoenix is great. My husband and I travel a lot and Aruba and the Divi Phoenix were perfect. Everything about the Divi Phoenix makes you feel good and helps make that vacation a dream.

My husband and I just came back from our beautiful vacation in Aruba! It was our first time there and already planning on returning! Hotel was beautiful, rooms very clean, bed and pillows comfortable, wifi worked everywhere, beach was breath taking with white soft sand! Had supper on the beach at pure ocean restaurant the fish was amazing! A five minute walk to the strip for dinner or drinks! We also rented a 4wheeler to visit the island( its worth doing) I really don't have anything negative to say about Aruba and about the hotel divi Aruba Phoenix!

"Lovely property, staff not so much..."

I'll start by saying that this was our fifth time in Aruba and each time we come, we choose a different hotel to stay in. I love the Divi properties! Here at the Phoenix, we stayed in a beach villa one bedroom on the ground floor, just steps from the ocean. It was wonderful! As for the room, the pros: bed was super comfy, two bathrooms, spacious, easy access to the beach and pool, housekeeping adhered to our schedule and did a great job! Cons: no stove, jacuzzi and washing machine were hard to figure out, after taking a shower, water would be all over the floor. All in all, a nice room that could have used a few instructions for us for their appliances. I think the location is perfect. It's just a 10 minute walk to the Riu and other high rises. The walk back was always quiet and safe, although cabs are always an option. I see a lot of fuss over the whole palapa situation on this site. I'll tell you, if you get out to the beach around 11, yes, it's going to be crowded BUT, there are extra chairs stacked up and extra empty palapa areas that are empty. Grab a chair and enjoy! A side note, if you are there on Saturday, the place is empty! You will have the beach all to yourself. Most of the tourists are heading home/checking in. Finally, the staff... I never got a warm and fuzzy from anyone. The check-in process was a bit cold. I never received a welcome packet, wifi password, etc... had to hunt that down. The sundries store on site had two very unfriendly women working there. The swim up bar... welll, the iguanas gave us more attention than those bartenders did. This place isn't getting any awards for customer service. Last but not least, the WIFI was awesome in the rooms. I watched Netflix at night, downloaded movies with ease, no problems. Don't try using it in the beach. All in all, I would book this place again. It was a great value for the money!

"Just ok"

We love Aruba for the sun and beaches. This was our 3rd stay in Aruba and 2nd at Divi Aruba Phoenix. Not sure if we will return here after this visit, was not impressed! Upon arrival at the check in desk there was a long line with only one staff member that was working while the other staff stood there laughing and talking. Only after standing for over 20 min did any other staff acknowledge us. This was the same for the check out process. Very inefficient in my opinion. Once we got the room keys we had to make our way up a single small elevator to our room. This was the elevator of terror. On our floor they were servicing the old elevator and making so much noise not what we wanted to hear after traveling all day. Since we couldn't sit in room and listen to the noise we decided to go lounge by the beach. We asked about the elevator situation and was told our floor was the first floor the started the work on and was brushed off. We decided to make the best of the situation. The work continued on our floor for 2 whole days after our arrival! We were woke up every morning before 8 am by drills and banging! The elevator was a nightmare. One night it hit my husband so hard as he entered almost knocking him down, God forbid that had been a small child. The people working on the elevator kept it tied up constantly for hours, the only other option was to walk up and down the stairs. Avoid the tower above the spa at all costs. The pool near the beach villas was nice and less noisy for us to relax. It had nice lounges with shade. We never had issues getting a seat. However, the last 2 days of our stay the pool was so dirty that we did not want to go in it. We enjoyed the property other than those 2 issues. It sits on a very nice beach that is on the end that is quieter which we enjoy as we are there to relax.
