"Ok"

   22-02-2017
We had missed our flight the night before and called to advise them that we would arrive early the next morning and readily accommodated us when we arrived. The check in process was fast and efficient but lacked the warmth you would expect from an island. The rooms are what you expect for a three star hotel and would've been sufficient if my housekeeper was attentive. She missed too many things - the dirt at the base of the sliding windows, the dust on the creases on the door, the replenishment of amenities, etc. I doubt the room was ever properly outfitted. Towels were on the yellow side and there was an unpleasant "damp" odor on the corridors and in the room. While I understood the importance of mosquito fogging, it was most disturbing to be awakened by the noise from the machine and I was on the 3rd floor. Another issue was the intermittent smell of sewage that occurred several times in my 4-day stay. Breakfast was the standard continental. We ate at Anthony's (literally a minute away) after the first morning. Given that our meetings were at The Atlantis, this worked for us.

"Nice hotel"

   22-02-2017
Hotel was good, literally across the street from Atlantis. Unless you have a view room at Atlantis, don't spend the extra money to stay on resort property. Very nice full breakfast by the pool. Only downside to the trip is that good food was very expensive at Atlantis. Ended up eating more burgers than I would have liked, but didn't want to spend $50 per person for dinner.

"Location "

   20-02-2017
The hotel is next to the Atlantis and it is an affordable alternative. Staying here gives you privileges to the Atlantis. The rate is extremely high for a similar hotel in the US. The breakfast could be better for the amount of money I paid.

"Solid three star hotel"

   20-02-2017
This is a solid three star hotel for the price if you are going to be at Atlantis most of the times. We had a morning flight so got there by noon. We were told absolutely no early check-ins before 3:00pm. Not even a slight chance. Went to Atlantis and got back at 4 pm, still room not ready and they had to move us to a different room. Room smelled quite a bit. Asked the reception desk to switch but was told they are at full capacity and it seemed that the staff didn't want to take the extra effort to look into our issue. The hotel wasn't that full and this was non-peak Atlantis season (literally no lines at the rides) and when I looked online where were many rooms available so I knew they were lying. When I booked the room online it said only $25 per room extra will be charged. I emailed a couple of times asking about this in advance but got zero responses. Turns out that there are 4 additional fees - resort fee and some levy was included in the online price but mandatory gratuity and energy fee per person wasn't, so $20 more person was $160 more for us two for 4 nights. Breakfast was average and the same every day. Scrambled and boiled eggs, breads, french toast, pancakes, cereal, orange and apple juices, coffee and some yogurt. The room keys stopped worked every day after returning from Atlantis and had to get them re-keyed at the reception desk. Advantages --- Free Atlantis passes. Had to walk to the Beach tower reception desk to get them. There was miscommunication here again - all the verbal and written communication we received from Comfort Suites said we had to get the band every day but Beach tower told us that the same band is good for all days as it has dates on it. Why was this so hard to communicate? A small shopping center with a good size (not huge) grocery and alcohol store is right across the street if you want to save some money on meals and drinks. The grocery store had bread, turkey/meat slices, cheese, etc to make your own quick sandwiches. Atlantis entrance is a 5 minute walk, plus 10 minutes inside the resort to get to the slides area. If you don't mind walking 15 minutes each way this is great. If you would rather only walk max of 3 minutes then stay inside Atlantis. The walk would be the same from Beach Tower also. Almost all food places inside Atlantis (near water slides and pools) are strictly no cash (room key or credit card WITH ID) only. If you are on Atlantis beach, it is strictly cash only. So, you have to carry both. So, if you need a room for the nights only and don't mind a mild smell, this is definitely worth the cost as the hotels inside Atlantis would be 2x-3x the price. We will likely stay here again if we come back to Atlantis.

"Wonderful People"

   19-02-2017
After back-to-back, to back-to-back, to back-to-back, to back-to-back trips covering meetings, a wedding, christmas, new year and finally the Oriental New Year of the Rooster ( actually it's a Fire, Iron Hen year ), I get to write this for fellow travellers. I stayed here in Room 586 from December 21, 2016 to January 2, 2017. Facing the covered entrance, my block is to the right-hand side. It is away from the pool and views were unobstructed but nothing to shout out about. Very quiet, well-appointed and neat in layout, there's a designer screen that cleverly separates the sitting area from the 2 beds ( and one can change behind it privately ). Some neighbors found it tucked away a little far but it was ok for me. And, the breakfast area is right below on the first floor. Very convenient - good coffee and scrambled eggs/bacon too. Note : There are 2 breakfast areas. This and one by the pool ( both can get very full when the hotel is at max ). I would like to thank Ms Sophie Saunders and her team / everyone. Right from check-in to check-out, everyone was very accommodating. Maybe it was my cheerfulness and humility that brought out the best in all of them. I did meet lots of staff and so do not want to leave anyone out. Wonderful hotel staff. 3 thumbs up. To be realistic, there were some issues we had at breakfast and at Crusoe's. However, they were taken care off with heart. So, no harm done. In fact, I had more problems with Nature at the Junkanoo parade on Boxing Day. It was so windy. You have to be there to see a strong Six-footer being pushed back by an invisible "wall" of wind or the ill-balanced parade float being tipped over. There were no injuries but lots of red faces and "torture" though. You have to be there to "feel" it and also the rhythm and sounds that will stay with you long after the event. I took the advice to sleep in the afternoon, wake up for a late dinner and attend the early morning festivities. Go early to avoid the traffic and get a good spot. Opposite the VIP stand to the left is great for cheering and taking photographs. No intense glare and flood-lights pointing away. They will come right up to you, so cheer loudly. Access to Atlantis was very convenient. With instructions from the front desk, once you get your identifying "pink cards", bring them to the nearest Atlantis hotel and get your wrist bands ( Bring supporting Photo ID ). Easy as that. Remember : No wrist bands, no entry through certain check-points ( Sad that some were turned away for the New Year's fireworks. They said they took it off to be dressy. A mistake ). Have fun. Take care all and thanks again :-)
