"Nice hotel with perfect views but bad food and service"

My girlfriend and I stayed there for two nights this summer. The hotel itself is great and well located. They have some good tours from the hotel (in particular the horseback riding tour, where we visited "Leonardo Da Vinci's" farm). We had a nice room with good air conditioning and a perfect view of the Vinales valley. The food and the service on the restaurants were below average and not what we expected (even in Cuba). The service and drinks we had from the bar were nice though. I would recommend people to go, as long as you don't expect much from the restaurant at the hotel.

"Amazing view"

Hotel jasmine is worth staying for the views along. The place was clean and it's easy to get in and out of the town centre by taxi. The tour info desk inside is very good fororganising tours and transport to your next place. Food was ok but not the best even in Cuban standards. Would stay again but would eat in town each day instead. Waking up each morning to the views of the valley though are breathtaking

"Views to die for !"

The first thing you have to remember with Cuba is that you cannot judge any of it by American or European standards; by and large Cuba has a long way to go before it reaches those. However, this hotel is not half bad and certainly the best in Vinales. Like much of Cuba it is a little 'tired' around the edges but the staff were friendly and helpful, many had quite good English, but we may have charmed them by having a young and extrovert Spanish speaker in our party! The rooms were clean, the facilities good (as in flushing toilets and hot water) and the beds very comfy - we slept well. By far and away the best thing about this hotel is the location; it overlooks the valley and the views are, quiet simply, breath taking. The swimming pool is fairly large but we did notice a slightly acrid taste to the water, but this didn't stop tourists and locals alike having lots of fun on scorching hot days. The food, as was often the case in Cuba, was bland and not particularly interesting but the quality was good and the breakfasts plentiful. Another aspect of Cuba is that it is a cash economy and you find yourself having to shell out for everything and this takes a little getting used to. A bottle of water at breakfast? That is 1 cuc please. You'd like a pool towel? that is 3 cuc please. But that is not just this hotel, it is the same almost everywhere but it is something to prepare for before you visit this country. Overall, this is a good hotel, and is roughly equal to a good 2* or average 3* hotel in Europe. The views from the room balconies however are priceless.

"Service needs much improvement - views great"

We arrived for a couple of days before heading off to our next destination. Vinales itself was great fun and we took the kids out on a 2 hour horse ride which was well worth doing. The hotel is grubby and apart from the man in red teeshirt who organises the trips the rest of the staff were unhelpful. I told the man on reception that all the ladies toilets were blocked and he strugged his shoulders and said other visitors had complained. They really were disgusting! We tried to change some money and the same man said that he would only change dollars as he needed this currency personally which considering they have an exchange rate sign behind him was very unhelpful. He told us to go to the bank. The rooms were ok and fresh towels were delivered each day. The food was average and we chose to eat in town which was exceptional. The mojitos in vinales are very strong and very delicious. I suspect the hotel has a captive audience. You also have to pay £10 per day for towels which is a rip off given the hotel isn't that cheap to book. If you can find somewhere else I wouldn't recommend this hotel unfortunately. Stay in a casa as they look much more appealing!!

"Amazing time!"

I had an incredible time at Los Jazmines! The room was beautiful, the views outstanding, breakfast offered a wide selection. I would hike in the mornings and cool off in the afternoons poolside. Julio Cesar was a great concierge and organized several excursions for me. Daphnel was so kind and helpful as receptionist. Thank you to all! I highly recommend Hotel Los Jazmines!
