"Perfect Place To Stay in Curacao"
Everything was perfect for our 5 night stay at Bon Bini. This resort is a community of bungalows, each surrounded by trees loaded with fruit, bushes, flowers, colorful birds. We saw 2 different kinds (different coloring) of iguanas strolling by. The bungalow is completely furnished. The kitchen has everything you need. We ate all our meals there and on our patio while we watched the birds flying from tree to tree. Some perched on our bush and the patio railing, watching us eat, waiting for us to feed them bread crumbs. There is no oven, but there is a stovetop a microwave and a full sized refrigerator, everything you need to cook and eat comfortably. There is a nice pool area and a reception building with very friendly women who like to hear about your adventures. They gave me a list of the best beaches to snorkel and they were beautiful. Some beaches have an inexpensive entrance fee, but the free ones are just as beautiful. At Playa Pizcado, on the west side of the island, we snorkeled with 3 large turtles and I saw my first eel! We also loved Tugboat Beach on the east side. It's free to enter and the man who rents the lounge chairs ($3), gave me a water bottle filled with cut up bread. While snorkeling, I opened the bottle, shot out the bread, and hundreds of fish surrounded me, coming for the meal. All the beaches had crystal clear water and a lot of fish. From Bon Bini, you just cross the road to go to Mambo Beach and 2 blocks further is the aquarium. There is a security booth to enter and we felt very safe. The resort is quiet and peaceful, and the adventures begin as soon as you leave the gate. Also, it is close to the town Willemstad. It has free wifi somewhere on the property, I didn't use it. But I paid $20 to have wifi in our bungalow. It worked very well and it was that one fee to include all the days we were there.
Bon Bini Seaside Resort is the perfect location, perfect bungalow, immaculate grounds, best staff. Edward gave me a tour of the grounds and i found a nes friend in Mita. The kitchen is stocked with everything except food, the porch is great for relaxing
"Family Trip at Home Away from Home"
Bon Bini is much more than I could have imagined. It can be very difficult to come to agreement with your sister when the question comes up of where to stay on an island or even where to eat dinner for that matter. This was the very best place to stay if you are traveling with children and other people. We had bungalow 2.. which was Turquoise and has two bedrooms. The décor is island white tile that everyone uses and bc its white you can see if its clean or dirty. The units were very clean and the beds very firm which I LOVE. We had 2/2 with living room, full kitchen, long deck on the back, and a driveway. This is all behind a wall in a 24hr gated and manned resort. The grounds were immaculate with our entire yard covered with white stones front and back which "popped" among all the desert vegetation of Cacti and other very lush flowering bushes. There are no restaurants nor cleaning except on the dates listed on your schedule which is in your room. This is not beachfront and doesn't need to be b/c by the time you wake up and have your coffee you can walk right off your rear deck to the pool and then down the hill to the beach. but prior to tis you go to the office or the gatehouse and get your ticket for beach access. The resort sits on a hill and is VERY quiet. Once you leave the gate you are literally up the hill from a mall that is "oceanfront" If you have ever been to Honolulu the mall sort of reminds you of that as it is open aired with little boutiques and Avis rental and many very good restaurants. They have mini-playgrounds on the upper/lower (on the beach) levels for kids to play before or after Breakfast, lunch, or dinner. My daughter loved it they meet new friends eat and all of this is oceanfront day and night. Their is a club that is like the posh spot to be b/c at night its a whole new group that comes in and dances to the DJ. Depending on which lounge chairs you choose you pay $3.50 USD or $9.00 USD (as this is a Dutch Island) and with the $9.00 you get either an Evian Water or a glass of Champagne, nice I know! Its so convenient, there is all the food you can want and there is a full size grocery store not corner store which the resort takes drives to 2x a day for free. Its like what we in America have that is compared to a Kroger. They have an Organic section and all the fresh breads and cakes you could ask for. Since we were on vacation, we weren't interested in cooking but I love to go to grocery stores everywhere I go. The staff at the property are very attentive and actually do look out for you. People are very friendly on and off the property which always makes for a great vacation. Please consider Bon Bini if traveling to Curacao. Its a straight shot from the airport (we rented cars). Its a wonderful place to come home to but that's if you ever really get up to go. If I was to have plastic Surgery I would literally want someone to drop me here to recover. Just fabulous to sit on your porch while the winds blow as you watch the iguanas and they watch you!
"Great little resort!"
I recently traveled to Curacao with my friend and we had a great stay at Bon Bini Seaside Resort! It was centrally located, about 10 minutes from the center of town, right across the street from Mambo beach and 10 minutes from Jan Thiel. The first day, we went food shopping at the local supermarket (5 minutes away) and bought some food for us to cook at the bungalow, which provides pots, pans and cooking utensils. Mambo beach is right across the street, which has a bunch of restaurants and shops. There are a few sections of the beach and it costs about $5 to have a beach chair all day! One of the days, we went to Jan Thiel and got beach chairs ($6 each for the whole day) at the upscale Papagayo resort. There was a beautiful infinity pool overlooking the ocean as well as various restaurants and beach activities. Another day we traveled up north to Shete Boka national park which was BEAUTIFUL and then went to the various beaches on our way back to Bon Bini including Knip beach and a few others. It was about a 45 minute drive to the national park and then 10 minutes to the various beaches. There are also restaurants along the way where you can stop for lunch. Notes: - Bon Bini does NOT provide beach towels, so bring your own! (This and the fact that there wasn't air conditioning in the living area were the only cons of the resort) - There were some ants in the bungalow, but if you spray some bug spray they go away - DEFINITELY rent a car!!!!!!! We were iffy about it (city girls who don't drive often) but it was 100% worth it. You can easily get around by car and it will allow you to have a way better vacation. Mambo beach across the street is nice, but it is nothing compared to the beaches up north or even Jan Thiel. Overall, we had a great stay at Bon Bini!!!! Definitely recommend!
