Klein, stijlvol, met een persoonlijke service en een ongedwongen sfeer (ook wel aangeduid als een 'old-world hotel') ademt dit hotel een zekere grandeur uit. "Best beach staff!"

Georgia and Damar and all of the staff at the beach bar were so gracious and wonderful. They made everyone around feel special. Truly amazing staff, good food and terrific drinks. Try the dirty banana!

"Like stepping back in time to a more civilized era..."

If you value peaceful, quiet luxury, this is the place to go. Even before we arrived, Sherlene was warmly understanding and responsive to my many questions, going so far as to email me a photo of the sunny beach when weather.com had me worried! From the moment we left the airport and were met by our driver, to the check-in process at the Inn itself, it was clear that our comfort and happiness were everyone's top priority. The Jamaica Inn completely lived up to its reputation--the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Our room in the West Wing (room 17) looked out over the water and was totally quiet, private, and peaceful--the only sound was the gentle lapping of the waves. I couldn't possibly have asked for more. Every day, Sadie made our room even more beautiful with fresh flowers and other special touches. The beach was beautiful, clean, quiet, protected, and perfect. Each morning, Bucky set us up with towels and deck chairs in our favorite shady spot on the beach, just steps from our room. There we stayed most of the day, enjoying drinks and lunch between swims. Other guests were friendly but never intrusive. Every day, we had breakfast on our beautiful veranda, overlooking the water, lunch on the beach, and dinner on site, under the stars. We enjoyed tea and treats each afternoon (and the chef made sure there was always something for my gluten-free husband) and cocktails and hot hors d'oeuvres each evening. We were treated like deeply valued guests at every turn. I cannot wait to go back!

"Absolutely Lovely but please unplug the band!"

   08-10-2017
A week at Jamaica Inn will set you back in time. A time to white glove service, afternoon tea and a place where the warm welcome of staff who know your name. Exquisite! A small boutique hotel leaves you a perfect oasis to truly relax. The beach is expansive and quite, so no battle for beach beds to be had here. Plenty of room to spread out and avoid your neighbors. It's easy swimming on this clear stretch of ocean. No tides, undercurrent or hidden rocks to distress the unconfidendent swimmer. Only two things of irksome note to mention: 1. You're paying expensive US$ prices for meals that don't warrant it. Don't get me wrong the meals are good but you'd get far better for the same price at a restaurant in Atlanta. J.I may suggest it adds to the "exclusivity". I'd suggest it's the rip off of a captured market. Take yourself off the hotel and experience some wonderful local, inexpensive meals. 2. And then there's the house band. I still have nightmares about the house band. There were nights we didn't want to go to dinner because the house band were playing AGAIN! Like the hotel, set back in time - the 80's! With a limited repertoire of bad synthesized tunes. The problem being, the hotel being small and quiet, there was no hiding from them. Even the one night it rained, dinner was taken inside from the terrace. No respite - the band followed! On other nights You could still hear them from your room when you chose to order in room service! Like I said, we still have the nightmares! We had hope the one night of the managers cocktails, when they brought in some local mento players. They were awesome! Except then, the house band followed. Now J.I, please add to the timeless beauty you've carefully crafted, unplug the synthesizer and play the olde time mento. That's real Jamaica!

"Excellent place to relax and unwind"

   03-10-2017
My wife and I spent a week at this place and loved every minute of it. We got lucky - they were filming Like Father on the grounds and needed all the rooms and suits in one building, so we were upgraded to a cottage! It's a large one bedroom free-standing villa on top of the 30 foot cliff, with wide veranda, dipping pool, outdoor shower and stairs leading straight from the veranda into the ocean! It was a paradise! We got to hang out with Kelsey Grammer, Seth Rogan, Kristen Bell and some of the other film crew members, which by the way were extremely nice. The staff at the hotel was genuinely courteous, from the owner Eric who came up to us several times inquiring about how our stay was, all the way to the administrative office, housekeeping, food services, room service, beach services and grounds maintenance crew - everybody was concerned about how we were doing and had "is there anything else we could do to make your stay more enjoyable" type attitude. Unfortunately you don't get to experience this type of service very often these days - kudos to the management for a great selection of employees and high level of training. This place has a long tradition of excellent service and it shows - you meet employees that have been there for 40-50 years! The only suggestion I have is to add more local dishes to the menu. That way people don't have to drive to nearby restaurants off the premises to experience the local flavor. Overall, this was probably the most relaxing and enjoyable experience we've had in a long time. Highly recommend to give it a try!

"30th Anniversary"

   26-09-2017
My wife and I just returned from celebrating our 30th Anniversary at the Jamaica Inn and I can tell you it was one of the best things we could have done to celebrate! The resort is family owned and the staff are all so friendly that you would think everyone was family! What a beautiful resort! It takes about an hour and a half to get there from Montego Bay airport (which may shorten significantly in the future with a new airport access possible) which can be made MUCH more comfortable by taking advantage of the hotel/resort transportation. It will cost about $135 but is only minimally more than getting transport from the airport and MUCH more comfortable and reliable! We stayed in Cottage 7 and I cannot say one bad thing about it (or the resort for that matter). I have never been to a resort where I instantly felt at home and relaxed until this visit. I would recommend the meal plan but get the one that skips lunch. You will not want to feel that scheduled and besides, there is afternoon tea with sandwiches! If you are celebrating a special occasion you may want to have a private dinner on the beach. They will only allow two a night and it is truly a great experience worth the extra cost! If you go, say hello to Shadow (the "Hotel Hound") who is well behaved and an active swimmer! If you go to Dunn's River Falls (recommended) take the boat with Marvin and stop and snorkel on the ride back! Believe it or not, I lost a GoPro camera doing this and two days later we went back to the approximate area and I found it! When it was time to leave my wife actually teared up. I rated this an excellent value. It is not cheap but you will NOT be disappointed in the service, relaxation and atmosphere. You will not want to leave and as I have told everyone, I never knew Jamaica was so close! We will be back to the Jamaica Inn!!
