"Anniversary trip"

My husband and I traveled here from July 13-18th for our fifth year anniversary. We chose South Coast due to reviews and love for the other sandals properties we've been too. I gave it 5 star but would have given it a 4.5 if that was an option. Overall it was a fantastic trip with just a couple hiccups. I'll go over the positives first: The resort: 5 The grounds were beautiful. There were flowers, trees, fountains, and everything was so pretty. We loved the layout of the restaurants and how they looked like a small town. It is a big resort and there is a bit of walking involved. The pools: 5 There are three pools the Italian, Dutch, and french. My husband and I preferred the French. It was lively and had pool volleyball and more activity. The Italian both times we went had a few activities but was mostly for sunning and a bit more mature of a crowd. The Honeymooners are definitely more at the French. The Dutch was quiet and right out of our walkout room. The beach: 4 The snorkeling is excellent. We had never seen as many fish, urchins, and coral as we did here. The snorkeling was much better than mo bay, ochi, or Cancun. The cost for such excellent marine life was the sea grass. There is alot of seaweed and urchins. We used our water shoes and so this was never an issue. I do wish I had my scuba diving certification though because everything was so neat to see. The room: 4 We had a club level walkout room. While it was very nice and clean there really wasn't anything super special about it. It was a typical hotel room with a shower tub combo. House keeping was great, they kept everything spotless and turn down service at night was nice. Know that most rooms walkout to pool or lawn and not directly to the beach like most the photos on the website advertise. Entertainment: 4 We loved the pool volleyball and the playmakers were very interactive and good about getting to know you. If you are like me though and want to play beach volleyball to work off all the excellent food know that this isn't the resort for you. It rains everyday in the afternoon. Usually the same time they have beach volleyball scheduled. Also there is a drain that drains water off the main resort that is located right in the middle of the court, so ever time it rains it washes the court out and even when they fix it there are huge holes which makes it dangerous for players. I wouldn't play on this court I. Certain areas for worry about blowing a knee or ankle. This really isn't the fault of entertainment or the playmakers but was a big negative for me and possibly a reason I would not return. As much beach as they have perhaps they could find another location for a court. Otherwise the steel drums were fantastic as was the beach party and other night activities. The restaurants: 5 We didn't have a bad meal here. Everything was fantastic. We loved the restaurants for breakfast lunch and dinner. The only one we didn't try was Jasmines. Highlights for us was all the sushi we tried(we are from Kansas and didn't even know we liked sushi). Crab cakes at Neptune's, smoked marlin at Schooners. Swordfish steak at Schooners, jerk chicken appetizer at Eleanors, Chocolate lava cake at Guiseepes and the chocolate Carmel cake from room service. Bars: 5 The pool bars were great, Latidudes over the water bar had fantastic views and drinks. Our favorite drinks were humming bird and dirty banana. Exceptional staff: we haven't connected with the staff at any other place like we did here. These people really went above and beyond to make our trip great. First and foremost was Bradley one of the entertainers. He is a great people person and felt like a long term friend from the moment we met him. Annecia was also fantastic and a blast to be around. Deshae aka Bones was good at volleyball and a contorcionist as well. I don't think he ever stopped dancing. Stacia was excellent at the spa and was so sweet. Plummer at Eleanors brought wines for us to try. Fitzroy at latitudes bar was a blast to watch and made fantastic drinks. Amanda at loyalty made our return booking enjoyable and quick! Chef Napoleon made such excellent creations at sushi on the sand and Ryan the restaurant manager was fantastic. Because of these two and the food, sushi on the sand, was the only place we went to twice. Suzette the food manager even took time out of her busy schedule to take a picture of my husband and I. All in all the people and the service have made this our favorite resort. If you've made it this far, the ride wasnt that bad. I wouldn't let it stop me from coming. The wifi was spotty, don't plan to FaceTime or call home. If you want to text it works. We have Verizon not sure if it makes a big difference. All in all fantastic place for couples.

"Amazing Vacation/Birthday Celebration!"

Me and my GF took an amazing vacation at Sandals South Coast (June 26 thru July 2) and had the best time of our lives. We stayed in a 1 Bedroom Walkout Butler Suite and we were extremely impressed with the room and our Butlers ( Claudius and Devaughn) they were are the BEST! There was nothing they couldn't provide! Celebrated my GF birthday at the resort and both of them made it a day/night to remember! From the balloons, animal towels to the special dinner the whole day was amazing. The only draw back was Room Service, out of the 7 nights we stayed we were only able to reach Room Service once! Every other time we had to go thru the Front Desk and request that they contact a member of Room Service. But all in all the grounds, food, pools and nightly entertainment was great! Would we return????? YES!!!!

"A relaxing visit"

We arrived at the airport and had arranged to go through Club Mobay which expedited the customs process. We had booked a private car through Reggae Tours. We arrived after a very interesting drive at the resort. We were greeted and shown to our room. We were in the French Village in a walkout room. The rooms are a good size and have a tv and stocked frig. There is free wifi throughout the resort. We tried all the restaurants and the Jerk Shack and found the food was excellent. We had to walk a distance but that was fine for us. There is construction going on next to the village but it wasn't distracting for us. We enjoyed the water bar Latitudes. There is plenty to drink although only Red Stripe beer. We waned to go deep sea fishing but could never arrange it with a four person minimum. We went out on the free glass bottom boat and tried the paddleboards. We took a wild ride on "Big Mable" and then we went out on a Hobie Cat. The staff was very pleasant and most of them smiled and were engaging. The room was noisy at night due to the incredibly loud insects and frogs outside. After the first night we got used to it and slept well. The beds were comfortable. The grounds are well maintained and the plants are stunning. The only downsides were at the front desk. On the first night we hung our swimsuits on the drying bar outside the room and in the morning, mine had been stolen. I told a young man at the front desk and he said I could buy another when the gift shop opened. Fortunately I had brought another because the gift shop prices are very high. I read that the resort was in a wildlife preserve and had hoped they might have a tour of the grounds/preserve but i was told they did not. Out of all the employees we encountered, the front desk staff were the most unfriendly. We also saw guests smoking pot on their balconies which seemed a little bold. The restaurant servers were all very nice, as were the guys at the beach front watersports area. We would consider going again. I thought there was good value for the price we paid. I would definitely hire a private car. We were picked up about 15 minutes after the resort bus was to leave and it was still sitting there. It was packed. The ride is very intense so I am glad we experienced it from a smaller van.

Staff is exceptionally friendly! Food and drinks were good. Entertainment was fun and lively. Pools are very nice. Willis at the Bar at Dutch pool makes an awesome Willis drink and CurTayne so very accommodating. Tiffany did our maid service wonderful sweet lady goes out of here way for our room 3323. Here's where resort loses some rating with us. I am sure we were suppose to get a room with a walk out patio, we did get a balcony but we overlooked that. First entering our room water on the floor. Thought it was just mopped later figured out it was the refrigerator leaking. Maintenance fixed that the next day. Our bed was terribly hard. Request an egg crate mattress. We should have but just tolerated it. Air conditioning was out 2 days and 1 night. Constant power surges our whole week. No storms just rain came fast and gone as it does in the tropics. Not many sunsets but you do get a moment the clouds turn color after a rain to grab a photo. Our tile in our room was stain dull residue stretching across the floor never wood come up again room 3323 if you don't want to see that every time you walk in. Resort failed to put one of my bags in the van that took us to the airport. At my cost of $120 a taxi just got my bag there in time. MoBay at the airport is a must do they help with customs and with my bag. Actually asked airlines to delay flight take off 10 minutes as I ran to get on the plane. My group last 4 to get on because of my bag, everyone else was seated buckled for take off. Hats off to MoBay young lady Gay Veta. The bag situation very stressful I was in tears it had all my souvenirs.

"Our Best Vacation Yet"

We have been on a couple other all inclusive trips to Cancun & Dominican Republic but this was our first Sandals experience and it did not disappoint. By far the best all inclusive we have been on. The food is absolutely delicious & the staff is truly awesome- so friendly. The beach is really beautiful too. It's a big enough property that we never had to wait at any of the restaurants or beach chairs/spots. The over the water bar with hammocks is where we hung out most of the time. We also did some of the included water activities which were fun. We would definitely go back! If I had to say anything bad about it (which I really wouldn't) it would be that the rooms in the Dutch village are nice but a little out dated.
