"5th visit to Sandals resorts"

Every room has a sea view which is a bonus. We were in the Italian block, third floor. A recently renovated block, therefore the fittings were all in good order. The bathroom was very nice, but the shower was over the bath, and as the bath was quite deep, thosenot to agile would have difficulty climbing over the side. The balcony overlooked a small grassed area and the sea. To the right was a small pool, the water was very warm and comfortable. I would recommend the Italian block for those chosing peace and quiet. Other blocks overlooked a swimming pool and could be noisy during the day with people playing volley ball. In the same area is the latitude bar, very nice over the water, but very busy late at night and as sound carries over water could disturb some guests. The beach is very clean and was swept every morning. There were plenty of loungers, but the Butlers had a habit of reserving whole areas of beach/umbrellas. The food was of an excellent standard, but there was no fine dining, nor Steak House. we were looking for fine dining as we had experienced this at other Sandals Resorts . shorts and flip flops and caps were not permitted in the Dining rooms, says the brochure, not true. We were surprised that this was not brought to the attention of guests by the Management

"Amazing Honeymoon, best trip we've ever had!"

We were here for our honeymoon during the 2nd week of January 2017 and it was amazing! The hotel is absolutely beautiful. Our trip was a gift so we didn't have options in picking where we wanted to be or what level we were in. Although we heard great things about the newly renovated rooms in the Italian Village and butler service we were really happy with the luxury level in the French area. The room was beautiful with a small balcony that was perfect for us. The housekeeping, stocking of the room and turn down service is exceptional. We were never inconvenienced. On our first night they put rose petals on the floor and bed, spelt love in the middle and made it look really special. There were towel animals/designs throughout the trip that were fun to find. That bathroom was basic but it was clean and everything worked properly. We loved the location of the French area. We had heard complaining about the walk but it's seriously 5 minutes and when we were eating all that awesome food and drinking all those fabulous drinks we looked forward to it! Our favorite pool was the French pool so we enjoyed being right there. It was lively with the swim up bar but we never had an issue getting chairs and even got one of the pool bed loungers two days without reservations (that we've needed at other hotels). The bartenders are awesome and while my husband sticks to Red Stripe Light, I loved trying the different drinks. I figured out that there was an actual menu for them the third day and wish I would have seen that sooner, maybe they can offer that up to people that are having a hard time deciding? We spent most of the early evenings at Latitudes watching the sunset. The new over the ocean bar is awesome. We'd grab a drink and then hang out in the hammocks or chat with other guests at the bar, it's a very fun atmosphere. We never found it too crowded and didn't have to wait, again GREAT BARTENDERS! We loved all the food that we had minus a chicken burger that my husband had for lunch. We tried every restaurant besides the Sushi on the Sand because my husband does not eat it. My favorite meal was the candlelight dinner for two that we had. It was really amazing, with butler service and just a wonderful experience. We'd definitely do that again, the extra cost is worth it. My husband's favorite meal was the rib eye at Neptunes. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet almost every morning. There are so many choices, everything is really fresh. Wayne makes the best omelets and new my all veggie, no onions with cheese by the end of our trip! My husband loved the eggs benedict at Eleanor's so we went there two mornings for that. We were supposed to get room services breakfast in our room the first morning that we were there but they forgot to pick up our order sheet so we got it the following day. It was okay but that is a long way to bring food so I think it would have been better to have gone to Eleanor's or the buffet. I probably wouldn't do that again. The entertainment is alright. It seems that they try hard but the participation from the guests was minimal, guess it depends on who is there when you are. We tried the evening activities and stayed at most of them. The beach party was a bust though due to the high wind that night. We participated in a know your partner game which ended up being hilarious. White night was really fun and the chocolate bar that went along with it was delicious. We went to the Martini bar the first couple of nights and danced but then figured out that Neptunes was open late too and went there for a more laid back, intimate bar atmosphere. Ate late night there and it was great too. All in all a fabulous vacation that we can't wait to do again!

"Not every luxury is included"

The grounds, accommodation, food and service are excellent. The beach is well maintained and has enough chairs, but the sea is full of seaweed sometimes hiding inside sea urchins (I was "lucky" to step on one of them a year before – a very painful experience – and had needles in my foot for a few weeks). Unfortunately, there were much less smiles and greetings from the staff compared to our previous vacations at this resort, but we could live with this. Our main complaint is against the resort management: we spend much of our past time playing pool, but the condition of the pool tables is terrible. First, it used to be 4 tables, but now, after their relocation, only 3 left. All tables are unlevelled and with uneven surface covered with a worn out fabric. The holes are "through holes" and if you are lucky to send a ball into one of them, it goes straight to the floor. The table location is wide open and the sun is in your eyes most of the day. Most sticks are crooked and some are without a tip. No talk for hands is provided (it is really needed in the Caribbean climate). Only 2 chalk remnants for sticks are provided. Over the last few years, we complained several times to the management both orally and in writing, but our complaints were ignored. The resort has spent, probably, millions in the latest renovations, but could not find a few thousands for pool tables of at least the lowest bar quality. We have talked to quite a few vacationers that tried to play pool there, but left either angry or laughing at these so called "pool tables". So, if you don't play pool White House (now "South Coast Jamaica") is an excellent resort (except the sea condition), but if you are planning to spend some time playing pool, this resort is not for you. We gave it 4 stars as a compromise between 4.5 star rating for those who don't care about pool and 3 star rating for those who want to have the "luxury" of playing some pool in their spare time between the food and the beach.

"First time at south coast"

First time at sandals south coast formerly White House! Beautiful property with lots of space to walk both beachfront and garden! Food has been good with lots of diversity. Lots of activities to do and the new latitudes bar is phenomenal with the hammocks around the perimeter. Would love to come back again.

"Sandals south coast"
