"Texan Scuba Dive Trip"

Staff at Juliana's was very good and very accommodating and friendly. View from rooms and Tropics were great with location a very short walk to the dive shop, restaurants and grocery stores. Food at Tropics was also good, especially the breakfasts. All prices very reasonable

"Beautiful Lily Pond Cottage"

We had the Lily Pond Cottage for 2 nights. It was a charming and comfortable place to stay, full of character & roomy. Loved the bed, the gorgeous old floors, the old chimney in the kitchen. Loved the bathroom with shower (have never understood why anyone wants a bathtub in hot climates) with resident tree frog and ferns. Tropical garden was lovely with humming birds. Breakfast was really good and plentiful. Happy Hour with wine and beer was welcome, bar tenders were great esp Picky who made amazing mojitos with mint from the hotel kitchen garden. All staff were friendly and helpful. Juliana's is a gorgeous place to stay.

"Fabulous place !!!!!"

I stayed at Juliana's last month , to leave my son on the Island for medical school. Never being to Saba , this exotic remote island is a paradise . I stayed at Juliana's for three nights. The Hotel is owned and operated by a wonderful couple Johanna and Wim. They have surely have hand picked their very friendly , knowledgeable staff. From Xiomara in the reception , who answered so many questions for me, Lisette who wears many hats well, to Picky the amazing Bar Tender ,who makes his must have Pickilicious drink. I stayed in in ocean view room, where there was every thing you would need for a fabulous stay. The bed was more than comfortable . The owners obviously take a lot of pride in keeping this Hotel immaculate. The grounds , room, bar , pool and restaurant were impeccable. The Tropics Restaurant , where you have your choice of many amazing Breakfasts free when you stay and I had several meals their. A must try is the Burger and Caesar Salad. The Tipsy Goat Bar is one of the friendliest places you will find on Saba. Also a drink you can't miss is ,the best Mojito I have ever had , with fresh mint from their garden. Juliana's is must place to stay in Saba ! Check out the video on their website, because everyone really is Happy ! Thank you for a FABULOUS vacation.

"Pleasant Stay"

We spent three nights here in the Mango Suite. The couple who own and operate the hotel were very nice and helpful. Saba is a beautiful place, and Windwardside is quiet and picturesque. Bottom-line, I'd stay at Juliana's if we were ever lucky enough to return to Saba. Here's a summary of the best things about Juliana's, and a couple of downsides. The Good Stuff: *Breakfast was provided for guests. You can choose from the various breakfast items on the menu at the Hotel's Tropics Cafe. *There is a nice view of the ocean from the pool deck. *The Mango Suite also has an ocean view, and a big balcony with a table and four chairs. A good place to enjoy a morning cup of tea. *The room was big, clean, bright and airy, and quiet. There was a separate sitting area and a kitchenette. *You could hear the birds and tree frogs singing in the trees, and there was a nice breeze in the room at night. There are also ceiling fans in the sitting area and bedroom, and an air conditioner in the bedroom. We didn't use the A/C much, because of the breeze. *The bed sheets were soft, and a comforter and blankets were provided to fend off the evening chill. *The room had a large, flat screen TV. *The complimentary toiletries were very nice -- Tommy Bahama brand products -- and there was an ample supply of them. *In addition to the hotel restaurant, there are several good restaurants within walking distance. While some of the streets are steep, we had no problem walking to and from the restaurants. I would just recommend that you take good, comfortable walking shoes to wear to dinner. *The hotel works with Sea Saba to accommodate scuba divers. I dove two days with Sea Saba, and they arranged for our taxi to and from the airport (at our expense since we didn't sign up for a stay-and-dive package). Sea Saba also arranged for our taxi between the hotel and the dive boat; the cost of these trips was included in the price of the diving. Very convenient. The Downsides: The only minor issue we had with the hotel itself was that the ice machine didn't have a scoop. Not a big deal to use one's hands when scooping ice, but probably not the most sanitary arrangement. Most of the downsides we experienced during our stay were related to the Mango Suite itself. If we were to stay here again, we'd consider staying in a different room. *The room was upstairs. There is no elevator, although the proprietor automatically grabbed our biggest bags when we checked in, and he hauled them up the stairs himself. *All of the rooms have keyless entry, which is handy if you are diving or hiking, because you don't have the added burden of carrying around a hotel key. Most rooms have a keypad on the entry door. But the exterior doors to the Mango Suite are sliding glass doors. You can lock them from the inside, when you are in the room. But they don't lock from the outside, so you can't lock them when you leave. And there is no safe in the room for securing your valuables. There is a gate at the foot of the stairs leading up to the room, and it does have a keypad, but during our stay, we found we could just reach over the railing and unlatch the gate from the inside, without using the keypad. Saba seems like a very safe place, and we didn't have any security issues during our stay, but it would have been nice to be able to lock the room when we weren't there. *There is a queen-sized bed in the Mango Suite. We would have preferred a king, but the bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately, the bed frame is about 3.5 feet off the ground, and supported by the slender legs of the headboard and footboard. So if there are two of you, and one partner is a restless sleeper, the other partner will experience a lot of movement owing to the configuration of the frame and the lack of sturdy support from the headboard and footboard. Kind of like sleeping in a washing machine. *There are no nightstands in the bedroom, and it's a long way down to the floor, so there isn't a convenient place to set a glass of water by the bedside. *One lightswitch controls all of the lights in the closet, shower, basin and toilet area. This makes it awfully bright in the bedroom if one person awakes at night to use the bathroom, and switches on the lights. If you are planning to stay in the Mango Suite, you might want to bring your own nightlight with you. *There is no bathtub in the room, but there is a nice big shower. However, if the showerhead isn't pointed at the back wall of the shower, water will leak out under the shower door and all over the floor in the basin and closet area.

"A beautiful "GEM""

Stayed here for 4 days, loved it. Handy to everything, and everything is within a few hundred meters walk. Very laid back excellent service has a pool and a great bar near the pool where you can meet other guests as well as locals. Great if you are a solo traveler. Rooms are airconditioned and very roomy .(mine will need to be upgraded) Has good views and a nice little veranda to sit on and read. Xiomara does an outstanding job of checking you in and out, introduces you to others and always has a smile on her face, never complaints hooking you back into the wifi. (had to do it 6 times with me).
