"Average "

I stayed here with my wife for a couple of nights in early May. Pro’s: The hotel is in a great location and has the beach at its door step. Make sure you visits Maxine’s across the road as they provide great food and a good atmosphere. The pool and garden area is nice - the only issue I had with the pool is that the pool staff appear to think that you should tip for absolutely everything - even if involves putting a towel on your lounger! It felt a bit desperate in all honesty. The Happy Hour is very good and the barman is a good guy. Room was clean, of a reasonable size and had all the amenities you would require. Cons: At night the hotel is very loud - it’s very difficult to get a good nights sleep as you have other guests shouting and running up and down the hotel corridors at all hours. Appreciate that we are in Miami but the hotel appears to attract guests who don’t seem to give any consideration to other guests. Appreciate that this isn’t entirely the hotels fault but I felt the staff could have done more about the noise. In summary I would rate this hotel as average and would probably stay somewhere else if returning to Miami.

"Amazing time at Marseilles"

After reading a lot of positive reviews, we decided to book at Marseilles. Previously we had stayed a couple hotels over at the National. What a great choice Marseilles was. The staff is amazing, they go above and beyond. The backyard is awesome, amazing pool, games, hot tub, happy hour drinks. We stayed at Marseilles pre cruise 2 nights and post cruise 2 nights, both times we had a blast. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is the rooms have thin walls, so you do get outside noise a lot. The first night we got a room on the 4th floor, the street side, and the noise was too loud, we asked for a quieter room the next day, they moved us. The staff does go above and beyond. We will definetly be staying there again. Thanks Marseilles.

"weird crowd, weird rooms, spotty service"

My boyfriend and I were here for a few days midweek. The highlights of this hotel are the prime location on the beach, the pool/backyard, and beach access. That being said, it was a very loud and weird clientele. One night there was a drunk fight in my hallway. Maybe that's what you attract with "free cocktails" at happy hour? (Not surprising, the bartenders were by far the best of the staff). The chamber maids only replaced a couple towels, and never the washcloths. There were odd noises all hours of the night (metal marbles rolling???), and the mattress was old and very noisy (unsure what kind of mattress makes squeaky noises). The rooms on the whole need updating, and the staff needs better training. Unprofessional and unfriendly overall. I would not come back.

"Weekend getaway 4/20-4/23"

We checked in on Friday evening and while a little slow we did get the rooms we requested on the higher floors with an oceanfront room. Only complaint with the room would be we didn't have any control over the temperature. 1st night we put the fan to on for noise and even though we had thermostat at 74 degrees we woke up to a frigid 65 degrees in the morning. Other people with us didn't have a problem with it as far as I know but their room had a funky glass window in the room looking directly into the shower and you could see into the toilet area also. Like others have said the Happy Hour does not include beer or wine and line is very slow so just order 2 right away and go sit on front patio of the hotel and people watch. Never know what you are going to see on Collins Ave that runs by all these hotels. We rented a cabana for 1 full day and it was great. Ordered our lunch and had it delivered to cabana and was very reasonably priced and tasted good. On Sunday the hotel to the South of us had a large party with terribly loud music. If that would have been the day we had the cabana I would have been pissed because it's literally on the other side of the fence and you couldn't even talk to anyone it was so loud. Michael at the pool is very friendly and works hard all day long to keep it clean and make sure everything is OK. I priced many other hotels in South Beach and for $300/night I suppose this isn't a bad deal. Would be $140/night hotel where I am from but just have to know it's a tourist trap and you are going to pay high prices for food and drinks along with an 18% gratuity and 9% tax whether the waiter says hi or does anything at all for you. Backyard was a nice place to hang out and beach access is top notch. Checkout was quick and easy and the bill was correct.

"Lovely hotel"

The location was perfect. Disappointed that there was no gym, And you can't actually get a free drink at happy hour because the line is so long, but everything else was great. The backyard area is beautiful, with hammocks and lawn games and a hot tub. The guy who helps around the pool, Eddy, was our favorite. He was kind and knowledgeable and an asset to the hotel. We had a great time!
