Over Lago Mar Beach Resort & Club

Several of my friends and I stayed at Lago Mar for 3 nights. We had adjoining rooms which were quite nice and very clean. The views are amazing. The bellhops were attentive with all our luggage and bringing us lots of ice. The lounge served one of the best cheeseburgers I have ever had. The server was quite accommodating & had a great sense of humor. Cool atmosphere as well, good comfy place to chill with friends and have a drink or 2. My favorite of all was definitely the concierge, Kevin Boyce. I had lost my phone & he went above and beyond to send it to me. Then he even followed up with a phone call to confirm I had received it. Very professional to say the least.
"great place to stay"
We only stayed for one night but wished we had more. Great facilities and lovely location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Pools were very good as is the beach access. Rooms large and roomy. Great beds and pillows.
"Back to our paradise "
Well we made the trip, it came and went So fast. We brought our children and grandkids down for a family vacation They had a ball, all my grandchildren We're so amazed how many kids there were to play with. They were all friendly. They had so much for the kids to do. The staff is the best, love everything about the resort. Counting the days till We can go again. Nicole had our glasses Filled and Keirtha, Eric and the front end team are so welcoming. Love the beds and pillows so comfy. chef Phil and his F&B team are great. The coffee shop with Fran and Maria are so upbeat even In the early morning. The free parking is a plus and only 10 mins from the airport. Till the next trip, Thank you Largo Mar For a great vacation. Marie G
Great family oriented resort. Rooms could use some updating, but still has that old Florida charm. Restaurant was GREAT and chef Phil is outstanding! 2 pools, one for family activities and a quiet pool. Service attendants were available and friendly. One small disappointment was having to pay for chaors and umbrellas on the beach. After all, for $500 a night, $25 for a beach chair and umbrella? Overall, a great experience. Will recommend the family stay here again!
After reading all the reviews, I thought this hotel would be the prefect place for the last few days of our vacation, spending over $500 a night on our room we thought we would have gotten a higher quality resort; we were quite disappointed. Pro's-More private beach(away from very crowded public beaches). Small children welcome, safe neighborhood, pool was nice. No lifeguard, no spa tub. Some beach chairs are free. If you have a car, there are many restaurants within a short distance. Many outdoor activities-mini golf, playground, outdoor chess. Dining locations onsite. Free wireless(although connectivity is not great) Con's- The resort is quite dated, the furnishing are mediocre. I'm sure it was beautiful 35-40 years ago, but it doesn't appear that there have been many improvements. The walls are paper thin, you can hear footsteps above you on another floor. Bathrooms appear dated with low ceilings. Resort staff was indifferent, stayed here for 3 days, no one greeted us or even acknowledged us in the hallways. Housekeeping came after 4pm every day, and by then it was too late for us. However, on our checkout day the entered our room before 10am asking when we were leaving-how nice. Upon checkout, the staff member barely said two words to me, did not smile or greet me when I walked up. Did not ask me how my stay was, very unpleasant. The free beach chairs looked as if they were from the original 1960's resort, we thought they would surely break on us. After staying here, I am thinking that the people who wrote all the fabulous reviews haven't traveled much or have seriously low expectations. For 500$ a night I expected a little more than this hotel offered. See the Marriott on Marco Island for comparison.
