"Would recommend if you are patient and low-maintenance"

I'd probably rate PCI more like a 3.5 but since that's not an option I went with a 4. PROS: - The decor is VERY cute and really well done. - PCI is in a great location on a main strip with lots of restaurants and attractions within walking distance. - The Beach Bar was really fun and we spent most of our time there. The bartenders were all friendly. We were worried about it getting crazy because its spring break but it wasn't bad at all and everyone was well-behaved. - There is a really pretty courtyard area with string lights that has ping pong tables, a fire pit and chairs for hanging out. - The pool area is huge and we had no problem getting a spot to layout. - There was a good mix of people staying there (couples, families, young/old). CONS: - Customer service is not their forte. Check-in is not until 4pm but our flight arrived at 9:30 am so we figured we'd just go straight to the hotel and see if they could possibly do an early check-in. When we walked up to the front desk the girl never greeted us. She just stood there looking at us and we actually weren't even sure if she was working the front desk. We told her we wanted to see if there were any rooms available for early check-in. All we got in response was "Check-in isn't until 4." I would think basic customer service would be to offer to keep our bags for us and tell us to check out the restaurant, visit the bar, etc but she didn't say a word. We had to ask if we could leave our bags and if it was ok to wander around and use amentities even though we weren't technically guests yet. She said it was fine and we went on our way. We ended up eating at the Boathouse restaurant in the hotel and service and food were good. After having a couple drinks at the Beach Bar and walking around the strip for a while we went back to the front desk around 1:30 pm and thought maybe we'd see if any rooms had opened up. It was a different, friendlier girl working and she said told us early check-in wasn't until 2pm - Ok so there IS early check-in, then? So we come back at 2pm and she adds our name to the list and says she'll give us a call as soon as something opens up. We never received a call so around 3:45 pm we figured maybe it's close enough to the check-in time of 4pm so we head back to the desk. This time it's another different girl working. She checks the computer and she says "Oh yeah your room has been ready for a while." It just seemed like there was a bit of a communication fail there. Not a major issue and we finally got into a room so it was no biggie but the attitudes we received at the front desk just weren't a great welcome. - Restaurant is understaffed We grabbed food here on a first day while we waited for our room but it was close to the end of breakfast so they were dead and service was good. We went back for breakfast around 10am on our third day and they were SLAMMED and only had 2 servers working. There was no host/ess and no manager in sight plus no bussers so many of the tables were dirty. These 2 poor guys were literally running around trying to take care of everyone. They were doing their best to keep up but there was only so much they could do. It took 10-15 minutes before one of them finally got to us. I watched two tables come in after us and wait about 15-20 minutes and then get up and leave because nobody waited on them. We had to refill our own coffee twice and the poor servers were also having to make their own bar drinks. I felt so bad for the servers that there was no manager there to help them out with running food, getting refills, cleaning tables, etc. But have no fear - there is a Dunkin Donuts right across the street! - Resort fees I read a few reviews that they charge a resort fee during your stay and that is definitely true. I'm not sure why they don't just include this in the price when you book, but they charge $10/day for "amenities." We were only there for 3 days so we only had to pay $30 at checkout but just be aware so that you can factor this into your trip budget. - The bathroom (at least in our room) was pretty cramped but it was fine. I read another review that the water pressure was bad so I was nervous about that. It definitely isn't the best but it was definitely lower than normal. You may just have to spend a little more time washing shampoo/conditioner out of your hair but it isn't too terrible. We are in our early 30s and were just here for a quick, kid-free vacation. We didn't have any plans and are low maintenance so we weren't too bothered by some of the customer service issues. However, my husband and I both agreed that we could never imagine our parents (in their 60s) staying here because they are higher maintenance and have pretty high expectations. So, all in all, I would still recommend staying here but only if you're fairly patient and aren't in a hurry or have ridiculously high expectations.

I would like to first say that I do not write reviews to damage a business but to help them fix what is broken. The room was poorly lit, the wall unit a/c was very loud, the internet signal was so poor it worked about 25% of the time, and the room was not the cleanest. Most employees were pleasant but some were downright rude and should not be working in a customer service driven business. I understand that they have new management so hopefully they can make the changes needed. The morning we were to leave they had workers at our window covering it up and taping it (for paint I guess.) Was it necessary to do that at 7:30 am? You pay a resort fee, $30 a day, at most of the hotels at the beach but I am at a loss as to what it covers. There was not an attendant at the pool for towels so we had to pick them up at the front desk in the morning. NBD but at the end of the day there were piles of towels at the pool because there was nowhere to put them.

"Great place to visit!!"

We had a great time, nice place to stay. Located close to many restaurants and shopping. Our room was very nice and updated. 2 things I was not happy with....1. we were told they provided pool and bath towels. They were out of pool towels everyday, or just not available. We had to use our bath towels. 2. Not a fan of the "resort fee" $10/night PLUS TAX (which was never explained). Why can't this just be added to our room charge and be paid up front when we booked? The restaurant was very expensive, we chose not to eat there, but many other choices around. Drinks were pricey, but we bought our own and made in our rooms. Great ambiance out by the pool/beach, loud music and fun.

"The Beach bar was exciting and fun, controlled environment"

Bartenders were pleasant, the crowd was filled with young professionals. Prices were too high unfortunately. I will be back, but maybe limit our drink intake. The access to the beach was perfect. Lots of shade and seating available.

"Better than Expected "

The location is simply the best!!! Right on the beach & close to everything. We had a parking lot view room on the 2nd floor. At first I was disappointed with the view but these rooms are MUCH quieter than any other room in the place! There also aren’t any rooms that are right ON the beach. Rooms were clean, remodeled in trendy surfer decor & had a fridge. Beds were comfy too! Beach is awesome! White sand, blue water...the real deal! If you want a chair & umbrella it’ll cost ya about $35 for the day (2 chairs & umbrella in Feb 2018). You can bring your own and sit for free tho! It’s an older motel that they have updated. It’s still an an older motel so hallways, etc. show some wear but overall it’s clean! The staff was super friendly & helpful! Beach bar is super fun but kind of spendy when not happy hour. They have bikes you can rent for free and a managers reception with snacks, etc. We didn’t partake in those things tho. One tip-they have a different postcard at the front desk everyday that you can keep for a souvenir. I wish I’d had know that I would have grabbed one everyday. :)
