"Good if all you need is a bed"
Stayed here with my family for 10 nights as we found a deal for it on Virgin Holidays. We have stayed at a few other Disney resort hotels but this time was the first 'value' resort we have stayed in. The hotel is busy, crowded and noisy all day, every day. Didn't really eat at the hotel so I can't comment on the food but it looks like the standard chicken nuggets, burgers and fries that you get in a lot of the quick service restaurants in the parks. Pool's are crowded, you do get free towels though! Rooms were small but clean and you do get complimentary toiletries. Wifi is good, air con is good, beds are comfortable. As it is a motel style hotel, I didn't like having the curtains open as there are people always walking passed. The check in staff weren't the friendliest. I asked three times for a statement to show how much I had been charged on my Magic Band. The first time, a week into the stay where one staff member told me no. The second time the staff members seemed reluctant to do it. The last time I asked was as we were checking out. I was surprised that on the last night we were not given a statement as the money automatically leaves the account you set your Magic Band up to at midnight. It would be nice to know in advance how much you have spent before they charge your card. Bus transportation can be hit and miss. If you're lucky the bus will come straight away, but If you miss a bus you can easily wait 25 minutes for the next one but we found that as we were in block 8, if we missed the bus back to the hotel and the All Star Music bus came first we would hop on that and just walk through the car park!! We saved money on breakfast and snacks by ordering it on Gardengrocer.com in advance. Everything is delivered to you on that day that you arrive. Although this is the cheapest of the Disney Resort hotels, you probably could find a better off-site hotel for the same price. However, the perks of the staying onsite make it worth it (extra magic hours, bus transportation, Magical Express etc). I probably wouldn't stay here again, but if all you want is a bed then give it a go!
"Nice budget hotel"
We didn't plan on staying at the resort much so this was the perfect pick. Rooms are small and can be loud due to large school groups and marching band groups. Bathrooms are dated but clean and fit our needs well.
"Glad I chose here for family trip "
I came here as a single parent with my 9,7,3 year olds from Scotland . I chose this as was the best offer I could find for Disney property as being a non driver it's a lot easier to stay in Disney .we used the room to sleep and shower , we would also rest mid day sometimes, the beds were comfy, bathroom as I would expect clean and a good shower . Tv with lots of channels and air con . Not a great deal of drawer space for a family of 4 but we managed with extra hooks and hanging space in the sink area . The hotel itself was very clean , pool areas in both main and quiet pool clean even though a lot of people dumped their rubbish and dirty towels around . Plenty of loungers available . The only comment is the small pool sometimes didn't have a lot of life vests left by the end of the day. Lifeguards plentiful . Towels available at both pools and a towel return box . We caught the afternoon entertainment once and the kids enjoyed this , we also watched movies under the stars a few times which was nice and relaxing .the staff were friendly and helpful , my son lost his band at typhoon lagoon and this was replaced no problem at front desk .the food court had the same options everyday really but this was a place to be fed not be impressed , pizza ,chicken, hot dogs amongst other basics that the kids would have if eating here .it was open late so great for the post park snacks or dinners and I refilled my cup a few times late night .would recommend the re fillable cups for value , my kids and i don't usually have fizzy juice at home but it was working out a lot cheaper than fruit juices every day and water does get boring after a while ! Yes it was busy with families and a few large school groups , this didn't affect our holiday , I couldn't imagine my parents coming here and enjoying it but for me this hotel was perfect for families . We walked to the McDonald's once 8min walk away just to get a change of scene . Our house keeper tere was great always kept everything spotless and had a smile on her face .blizzard beach a 5 mins drive and the bus driver ray was funny and informative .animal kingdom close too, other parks a bit further , to get to typhoon lagoon you take the Disney springs bus and transfer there to the typhoon bus it's only a few mins journey from there . Buses were frequent most we had to wait was 15 mins . They have a digital trackers so you get a guide arrival time . We only shared with other all stars for Epcot and blizzard beach and sports is first pick up and first drop off .i would recommend this hotel to fellow single parents and families . Previously stayed at port Orleans and apart from the water slide and the option of boat to Disney springs I enjoyed both hotels the same .
"Resort is okay for the money."
We chose this value resort to save some money because of the limited time we would actual utilize the room, after all we were there to visit the parks and for an AAU tournament. The cost was economical yet had all the conveniences of Disney. Great transportation to the parks and other attractions. The pools were okay however adding a slide to entertain the children would be nice. The food was good, I didn't choose a dining plan because I knew my time at the resort would be limited. The arcade was fun and I really liked the fact the arcade has massage chairs located right at the entrance so I could allow my children to roam the arcade without me hovering over them. Checking in was quite the wait due to them only having one person doing checkin and that annoyed me. I also had a problem with the mattresses, both my husband and I woke up with a back ache, I complained to guest services and 2 new mattresses were bought up that morning. They were better but still caused me a little discomfort. I would recommend this hotel for families who want to pay less but get all the perks of staying on a Disney Property. It's also great for guests who don't want to rent a car. They also provide complimentary transportation to and from the airport. I attempted to check our bags at the resort but was told my flight was too early so I would have to check them at the airport.
Stayed here for 2 weeks on a family holiday , sadly not 4* accommodation. Rooms very small and smell damp , not very well maintained. However the rooms were cleaned every day and fresh towels were provided daily. Food is atrocious and I'm not a fussy eater! It was served on paper plates with plastic cutlery. Breakfast time was like eating in a school hall, there was no order or organisation , a bit of a free for all. The positives for this hotel was location and surroundings, my grandson enjoyed watching a huge variety of wildlife, that wandered around freely. The pool and its attendants were very good. Buses to the parks were pretty good, apart from letting 10 relatives on with 1 disabled person whilst 50 other people were stood in pouring down rain! I have a disabled relative and I'm sure they wouldn't expect that excessive treatment. This holiday was not a budget holiday, it was in fact quite expensive and for a Disney hotel very disappointing. I wouldn't stay there again if I was paid to!!
