"Laid back and beautiful"
This is our first time visiting this resort and we are thoroughly enjoying it. The main pool area overlooks the ocean and has a pool and hot tub. We found plenty of lawn chairs for our family of 5. They have poolside food and beverage service which allows us to stay poolside for most of the day. It is located to c to stores
I have stayed her a few times in the past 10 years. They recently did a major upgrade. One advantage is that the hotel is on a point so it's very close to the beach. Rooms were fine. I was in a tower with only one working elevator. The ceiling in my bathroom needed painting. There is a new main restaurant ( a Roy's spinoff) which was fine. I'd stay here again only if it's less expensive the the other 3-4 nearby resorts.
"Excellent Resort Location and Amenities"
This location has just completed a major upgrade of all the rooms and public areas -- a fantastic location and place to stay while visiting Hawaii. The location has access to two beaches (off either side of the resort), and has beautiful views into the ocean/bay area where the whales play all winter (easily seen from the shore). Location has 3 main pool areas -- one is a kids pool (with a brand new pair of 4 story water slides), one tranquility pool area (no kids allowed) and a set of pools in the main area for anyones use (including 2 hot tubs) There are 4 places to eat (fine dining, bar-type, food-truck type and a small beach/coffee shack) to serve the resort -- PLUS it has a Starbucks inside. There are decent sized conference facilities available, and also a SPA on site providing traditional spa services. Parking is available as either self-park or valet.
"Heavenly Honeymoon "
We're 2 nights in to a 5-night stay that has exceeded all expectations so far!! We had a seamless check in, including a room upgrade with a beautiful ocean view. My husband is an Elite member, so I assume that has helped, but I've seen the hotel staff being so hospitable to everyone. We came back to our room on our first night to find TWO bottles of champagne with chocolate covered strawberries--so nice!! Yesterday, we came back from the pool to find another welcoming note and cookies. Speaking of the pool--wow!! I'm writing this while sitting in a cushioned dual lounge chair that is free, with the most enchanting view of the ocean (and whales!!) Plenty of free lounge chairs available. Snacks/drinks by the pool are delicious. We've been eating at nearby restaurants so I can't speak to Humble Kitchen yet, but we look forward to checking that out this weekend. This place has been Heaven on Earth; we've already been referring to "our next trip". Almost sad that we're moving to a different part of the Island on Monday but we wanted to check out different scenery on our visit.
"One of the best properties in Wailea!"
The newly renovated Marriott Wailea Beach resort is truly fantastic. I had my worries upon making my reservation as the resort is one of the oldest in Maui. After undergoing a $100 million renovation, I can honestly say this resort is on par, and if not better, than Andaz, Grand Wailea, and Fairmont Wailea. The photos on the website does not do this hotel justice. The rooms (if staying in one of the Hales) are fantastic and the new infinity pool has spectacular views of the ocean. Experience: Upon arriving close to midnight the resort I was promptly check in and placed in a garden view room and near the elevator by one of the front desk staff. I had requested flowers to be sent to resort prior as we were celebrating our Valentines weekend getaway. The flowers were lost and misplaced and did not received them until close to 2am. I was disappointed and frustrated as it felt like the pieces of this vacation was falling apart. The next day I approached the front desk and spoke with Terence who was nothing but professional and polite. He dealt with each of my issues individually and addressed them to beyond my expectation. He moved us to a much better room that was more private and had requested a bottle of champaign, chocolates, and a personal letter to be sent to our room to make up with the troubled we had to be dealt with upon checking in. This was truly a nice gesture and made our stay that much more memorable. The following days we were met with warm Alohas from housekeeping, grounds crew, front desk, and all the staff from this resort. Food: This resort has three main dining opinions (Humble kitchen, The Bistro, and Whales Tale) Humble kitchen - the food here is amazing and we had the honor to dine here for breakfast and dinner. The food consists of Hawaiian, Japanese, and Western fusion and is one of the gems of this hotel. Whales Tale - This restaurant is a nice casual breakfast spot for quick bites and has great outdoor seating. The Kapa - Great poolside food with bizzard tables and patio seating. The poke and chicken wrap were amazing and was definitely a surprise as we were not expecting much. However, the waiters can be a bit more thoughtful and should learn a thing or two from the staffs at Humble Kitchen. Candlelight dinner (Pictures Below): We had the pleasure of having the Candlelight dinner on Valentines Day and was blown away by the setup and experience we had. Blake from food and beverages had help us arrange this experience. The pictures you find on Marriott website does not do it justice! The dinner was near Hale 6 set up under an big tree with views of the ocean. The dinner was very exclusive and had multiple people taking pictures of the set up as they were strolling down beach walk. The service included a vase of half dozen roses, four course dinner service with a private waiter, and breathtaking views of the sunset over the ocean (have I had breathtaking views enough yet?). I would highly recommend inquiring about this if you are planning on doing something special for that special someone! Overall: Great service from all of the hotel staff. Special thank you for Terence from the front desk as he was amazing and really went above and beyond to meet our needs. I would highly recommend any couples looking to spend their vacation in the Wailea area. For its price and a category 8 hotel you really can't beat it comparing to the other properties in Wailea. Suggestions: Please consider updating the hotel website pictures and descriptions as it is missing important information about the hotel and does not properly portray the property after the renovations. I could not find information I was looking for prior to check in despite calling the hotel, flyertalk, and other blogs. Best, -B
