Maui, eiland van tegenstellingen. Enorme vulkanen, ruisende watervallen, fantastische vogels, reusachtige bergen, vruchtbaar land, een landschap van onbeschrijfelijke schoonheid. De krater Haleakala beheerst het eiland. Het noordoosten biedt een weelderige plantengroei, het westen is droog en winderig. U zult het met iedereen eens zijn die zegt: 'Maui No Ka Oi!' (Maui is het beste).
Best adult serenity pool ever! Ask for Terry. She has been there 23 years and she remembers us every time we return! Her service canâ€™t be topped, you wonâ€™t go very long without a cold beverage in hand. She works 6 days a week, always has a smile on her face and makes your vacation spectacular! Great sunsets!
We really enjoyed our stay and the staff was always courteous and professional. I would have given 4.5 Stars if this option was available, and 5 Stars if the beach was located directly in front of the hotel. While the property is on the ocean, you have to walk 4-5 minutes to the beach. Otherwise, this is a beautiful resort property in a gorgeous and upscale part of Maui. Kihei is close by with more great restaurants and beaches! Mahalo!
"36th wedding anniversary"
Gorgeous property. Restaurant is terrible. Filet was ordered medium rare came out well done charred. Manager came out threw the plate in front of me and said now itâ€™s medium rare. The rest of my family had already finished their meal. No offer of desert , or anything else to make up for it. Next morning went there for the breakfast buffet. Waiter brought me a coffee and never came back to refill. Also never cleared the plates when we went up for more. Again I asked for a manager. I explained that thei was suppose to be a high end Marriott property and I expected much better service than we experienced. Again I was blown off. Like I said this is a great property but Marriott needs to look in to this restaurant.
It's been 9 years since I last stayed at this hotel/resort for my honeymoon and I remember thinking before that it was just OK. My husband and I always wanted to go back to Maui one day but having young kids, Oahu was just so convenient. When I read about the remodel, I wanted to give this place a try again and my husband and I don't regret it at all! The friendly valet, the cool breeze through the open air lobby, and the welcome refreshments when we checked in were all we needed to forget about out crazy/hectic experience at the airport. We decided to splurge and book an oceanfront room and it was totally worth it. Waking up to the view and sound of the ocean could not be beat. It's true that there isn't much privacy as people walking outside can see in. Because of this, I was so glad we had a second floor room. It was perfect. People can still see in but only to your lanai. Also, the birds can be a little aggressive and try to get into your room. Don't forget to keep the screen door closed! Other than that, everyone we encountered were always smiling and friendly. Our kids got a welcome stuffed animal at check in. Our room was extremely clean every day. In fact, the whole resort was immaculate. Each building was spread apartment but I actually liked having to walk. Made for good exercise. Food options at the hotel were good though expensive as expected. My kids in particular weren't too impressed with the food options on Maui which would be the only negative for us. We ate a lot at Island Gourmet Marketplace in the shopping center next door because of our picky kids but that worked out just fine. Our kids loved the kids pool!! I loved that we had that option and didn't have to worry about our kids being too loud. I do wish the pools opened maybe even an hour early to 8am. The sun was pretty brutal by the time the pools opened at 9am. Plus because of the time difference, our kids were up by 5:30am every morning. I really can't find any wrong with this hotel. We did have a minor inconveneince when valet lost our rental car key and had us wait 30 minutes while they pretended to get the car. Everything else was so awesome about this stay that we chose to just forget about that experience. I loved this resort and can't wait to come back!
This Marriott reinforces why we are loyal to the properties. Excellent kept grounds, service from the people is second to none, and great location to shops and walking path. There isn't a beach, but the multiple pools with plenty of chairs, made that such a minor point. It didn't matter! Our group of 4 (2 couples) enjoy the pool and service on our vacations. The service by Terry and Trevor was second to none. We can't remember the last time someone provided that level of extreme service from remembering your name, what you liked, there when you needed them, etc. Never short on providing water too. The best part when you think about it was never did you see a cell phone with them. All business and maximum service. The front desk and bell hops were always helpful and friendly. The worse part of the entire property is that the Humble Market Kitchen by Roy is NOT affiliated with the Marriott. So you can't take drinks out to the great pavilion. I would say there was poor table service at the bar, if there was any. Another change the restaurant needs to make. We plan to return, but would continue to eat at the Wailea shops. Great selections of places to dine.
