"Amazing Birthday Stay"
This hotel is amazing! My girlfriend and I visited Boston in February. I'd let the hotel know in advance that we were visiting Boston for the first time, and that we'd be celebrating a birthday. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with very friendly and helpful front desk staff that let us check in early. Throughout our stay the hotel staff was helpful with dinner recommendations and securing reservations, greeting us as we left and returned, and overall making our experience a special one. The hotel gave us a top floor room with amazing views of the river and the golden dome. Hours later, the hotel sent us champagne on ice, as well as chocolate covered strawberries, and a birthday card signed by the whole staff! The location is fantastic. We were able to do the freedom trail, shop, and walk anywhere we wanted to go. The happy hour free wine was such a welcomed surprise as well. We enjoyed that multiple nights. I can't say enough about our amazing experience and we can't wait to return!
"A home for Boston Marathon runners"
We could not have chosen a better hotel to stay in for the Boston Marathon. The hotel's location is great as you can just walk to a lot of the attractions in the city such as: Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market and Boston Common. Kimpton Nine Zero made us feel like we were home. A special treat was given to each runner upon check-in that includes: Maple water, nice warm socks and a marathon guide. In the mornings, there is coffee, tea and milk at the lobby. The Highball lounge serves really good breakfast too! It has a view of the Granary Burying Ground. We were able to see the Patriot's parade on the day of the marathon. We loved the vibe every afternoon where people are encouraged to gather for some wine and cocktails. We also felt privileged to hear 35 time Boston finisher, Tom Liciardello share about his journey and welcome questions from runners day before the actual marathon. Hydration and a special breakfast send off were given to runners on marathon day and a photo session booth was set up to welcome the runners back. Special mention to Jackie and Miguel for being super accommodating. Everything was great. Even though we didn't get our requested bedroom slippers, we are ok with it because everything else was fine.
"Another great stay at the Nine Zero!"
I returned to Boston to run this year's marathon and as was the case last year, I stayed at the Nine Zero. There were plenty of my fellow marathoners there as well. This hotel knows how to treat us runners right! When you check in, you get a gift. This year it was a pair of special non slip socks you can wear instead of slippers. On the morning of the marathon, there's fresh fruit, bagels, muffins, water, Gatorade and juice. After your run, there's a mini post race party at 5PM with soft drinks wine and beer. Finally, they take your picture in front of a map of the route with your medal and slip it under the door of your room. A promised mini fridge was delivered the day of my arrival and a glitch with the safe in my room was fixed within 10 minutes of me making staff aware of it. The staff are great, very personable and friendly. The location is excellent - well within walking distance of many Boston tourist sites. The rooms are great with comfortable beds, hot showers and flat screen HD TV. Finally, strong WiFi reception both in the room and lobby.
"very good, especially for the price..."
This hotel is a great value. First a shout out to the valet team. They're the first and last people you see at a hotel if you arrive by car - and these guys were just outstanding. The location is great. I usually stay around the corner at one of my favorite hotels in the world, and chose the nine-zero for this stay because of a need for a particular bed configuration for this trip. I'm glad I did because this is a great alternative option. The room was clean. The bathroom was nicely done and a good size. A nice touch that I didn't get to take advantage of? They put a yoga mat in your room. We ordered some late night room service - it was tasty - it was a little delayed due to them being out of some menu items (and they admitted they were just a little monopolized by a demanding guest - but they were very apologetic and accommodating about it). I don't think you can go wrong here - we slept very well and the price is very right. 3.75 stars.
"A hotel in decline"
I've been staying at this hotel every couple of years since it opened. It's showing its age. The core climate control vents are getting noisy, likely reflecting old machinery. It's enough to make me decide to experiment and stop going to this hotel. After trying two different rooms, I suspect it is a building wide problem. The persistent hum is loud enough that it is disturbing. The front desk did not seem surprised when I asked to be moved from the first room due to ambient noise. The rooms are fine, pretty standard for a business hotel. Location quite good. Room service food better than average. Service good.
