"Comfortable room with nice hotel facilities 5 miles from the South Rim."
Location Best western is located in the town of Tusayan, about 5 miles from the Grand Canyon South rim. This town is the last stop before and is mainly full of hotels (not in Grand Canyon village) & fast food places. From Las Vegas it takes over 4.5 hours via Williams to drive. Flagstaff is around 95 miles away. Only the reason to be here is for the close proximity to the Grand Canyon. Room Room was very spacious with old decor but very clean. Two large double beds, one shared bed side table with an alarm clock and some plug sockets nearby. Faces a large TV that offers hugh amount of channels from DTV. Below is a fridge and microwave. Room also has a dining table with two chairs, a large desk area suitable for those working. The room also has a sink and vanity mirror area next to a coffee pod machine. Large wardrobe, laptop size safe and ironing board. Large bathroom with a comfortable oval bath with shower attached. The hotel uses the brand 'stress relief' with many body soaps & mini bottles of other items. AC worked well though can be slightly noisy. You can also open window. Generally a functional, cosy and clean room but quite old decor. Facilities WIFI is free & worked ok though did cut out alot. There is a business centre within the hotel. Did not try catering but there are 3 restaurants, 2 bars. One bar has various pool tables & games machines with a small bowling alley on side. Very busy. Other leisure facilities include a modern gym with mostly cardio equipment, indoor and outdoor pool plus a hot outdoor jacuzzi. Looked nice. There is also a convenience / souvenir store in lobby, tour desk, ATM & also plenty of parking that is free. Staff Staff are mixed, not that enthusiastic with robotic check-in. Check out was better but not that helpful with tourism information. However they are literally dealing with crowds of tourists every day staying at their hotel. I would also loose motivation after a while. Overall the hotel is well situated for Grand Canyon, clean and functional with some decent leisure facilities.
We stayed here while visiting the Grand Canyon. It is a great property. Our room was in one of the side buildings but with the setup of the property, all the buildings are very close to the main building which had the activities and restaurants. It was an easy walk. Our room was clean and definitely updated. The main building had alot of activities and even a bowling alley in the basement as well as pool tables and game room. The kids thought that was great! I thought the prices were a bit steep though. The hotel had both indoor and outdoor pools and hottubs. They were clean and very well utilized. The check in and check out process was easy and staff were helpful and friendly. We did get some information about the Canyon from their information desk and the man present gave us some helpful tips which I greatly appreciated. The restaurants on site seemed nice but overpriced for the food served. We tried the breakfast buffet and while it was nice it was similar to what we get at other hotels as a free included breakfast other than the made to order omelet station. I really liked the property being so close to the Grand Canyon. We would stay here again if in the area but I do wish the prices were a little more reasonable. A way to improve would be to include breakfast with the room cost. There are many other places to eat close by in the town if needed. Again, overall a nice place for a family to stay.
"Clean and Convenient to Grand Canyon"
Front desk was friendly and accommodating. Rooms were clean and a good size. Bathroom vent fan squeaked loudly. Took it apart and filter was filthy. Our section was in the middle of renovations so maybe they just hadn't gotten to the vent fans yet. You have to go outside and walk to the building that has the restaurant in order to get breakfast but there are a few places that are about the same walking distance such as Wendy's and McDonalds.
"Lovely hotel and amenities, just wish the weather was warmer!"
The service was great, our room was very nice, and the facilities were lovely. It was still pretty chilly in early March, so we couldn't utilize the outdoor pool (although we did use the outdoor hot tub!) and we were bummed the outdoor fireplaces weren't running, since they hooked us online!
"Great Location-Nice Decoration-Friendly Staff-Close to the Grand Canyon National Park"
I stayed there for one night with my wife in the last week of Feb 2018. It was a cold night and we arrived late after a long drive from McCarran Airport, Las Vegas and were warmly welcomed by Genesis (Front Desk Staff). He checked us in quickly and gave direction to our room, which we appreciate much as we were tired and wanted to rest ASAP. It was Room# 0321 that we got which was in a different building (Building # 3000) across the parking lot from the lobby. The room was clean, warm and comfortable in all respect. We slept well, and there was not much sound or disturbance we heard. Teejay checked us out in the morning. Again, he too was quick and efficient. I wanted to get some coffee before we head out to the Grand Canyon National Park. While there was coffee machine in the lobby, but there was no cup at that time. Teejay was kind enough to arrange for cup and lid for me. While, at some other time this simple thing may seem rather trivial and quite expected for, yet on a cold morning when I really needed some coffee, this meant a lot for me. I truly appreciate your hospitality. My thanks go to Genesis, Teejay and Best Western Premier Grand Squire Inn in general to make our stay enjoyable. As a Best Western reward member I have stayed in many of their hotels around US and this one is undoubtedly one of their best. No wonder their tagging as premier as well placed. We stayed for one night only and did not have much time to explore the hotel. Yet, out of a brief look that we could have the hotel compound looked really nice, well decorated, well equipped with indoor pool and overall happy staffs to keep their customers happy. Restaurants on-site, available breakfast buffet (about $ 14/person) but cannot truly comment on those truly as we did not eat there. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will return here if we are back in the area. Thank you Best Western Premier Grand Squire Inn.
