"Ballys has gone to the dogs!"
Recently we stayed at Ballys because of a weather delay in our flight. We had stayed there in the past and were well pleased. Not so anymore! Everything, from the public to private rooms smelled of smoke-even the linens! The hotel is in dire need of a makeover. The restaurants were overpriced and the food was lousy. Even room service was ridiculous! Had to request that the room be cleaned...front desk tried to blame us for this problem...we eventually learned to find a maid and ask her to clean our room! Never, Never will we stay there again!
"Fabulous stay in the Jubilee rooms"
We've stayed at Ballys before in the Indigo rooms and been happy with them. However, we were celebrating our 25th anniversary so wanted to stay some place special this time in Vegas. Because of a change of plans on short notice, we were not able to book one of the more upscale hotels on the strip due to a couple being sold out and the astronomical prices of the other ones. So, even though Ballys wasn't originally our first choice, it was a solid choice and the price was right. We got in early (we were on a very early flight) which is usually a no no for checking in but Von, at the front desk, was so kind to us. We explained it was a special occasion for us and she upgraded us to the Jubilee tower. Wow!! We were very pleased with the room she gave us. I will definitely upgrade to the Jubilee tower any time I stay at this hotel. The room was super clean and we stayed on the 60th floor (not thinking it was really 60 floors up but that was the button we used in the elevator), about midway down. It was a nice quiet room with what looked to be brand new carpeting down the hallway. We walked into a nice clean room with nice decor and only slight wear and tear to the furniture. The bed was pretty comfy as were the pillows and the linens were of decent quality. Nice touches to the room included a small coffee maker with plenty of coffee and fixings as well as a small fridge within the cabinets. There was a safe that was large enough for a tablet (but not a laptop) and other items you may want to store. This was in the drawer in the nightstand, which is where I eventually found the internet log in instructions. If you pay a resort fee for the room, the wireless internet is included. You need to choose the pay option but this will not be charged outside of your resort fee. (Just of note, I read complaints on this site that people had to pay extra for this, but not so, which is why I mention it). I actually never ended up using it so cannot speak to how well it worked. The bathroom is nice!! There was plenty of counter space, one little cube opening to store your toiletries. The shower was also very clean (kind of a sticking point for me) had a rain shower head. We were stocked with plenty of nice fluffy clean towels each day. The maids do a phenomenal job at keeping the rooms very tidy and clean. I don't remember turning on the TV so can't speak to that either but it was a nice flat screen TV. There was also sectional type chair unit x 2 with a glass table in the middle. We had a nice lunch that we brought up from Nosh one day. Our room was located directly above the Paris pool with a side view of the Eiffle Tower. We had a limited but decent view of the Bellagio Fountains. If you are early to bed, you can hear the fountains until midnight or so. Also, one of the three nights we were there, they were having a party somewhere that was pretty loud, even inside our room. I think it may have been over at the Cosmopolitan on the floor where they have the pool. That party lasted way past midnight. Other than that, the room was nice and quiet. Thankfully, Von gave us a very nice room which I will request in the future.
"Needs Updating - Smells Moldy"
Although great location and price, I was initially given an uncleaned room at check in. Finally, after 30 minutes they located a clean room for me. The front desk lady indicated that this happens all the time with their new express check in kiosks. I asked for a manager to call me to explain the check in issues - No one ever called or communicated with me. I will use my total rewards points at other properties going forward
"Another great stay!"
This is our second stay at Bally’s and once again from the moment we entered the property to the moment we left we could not have been treated any better by any member of the staff, especially the Front Desk. We stayed in September of 2017 and booked online so there were no hidden fees at check in. We were however offered a nice upgrade at more than a reasonable price which we took. Our room was even better than expected and was clean, quiet, and had a great view. Bally’s is centrally located on the Las Vegas Strip, has plenty of shops, places to eat, a nice casino with upbeat dealers, and will definitely be our go-to property for our future trips! I understand that Vegas is Vegas, but when I arrived I paid to upgrade to a better non smoking room. When I got to my room it smelled like an ashtray. Even worse in the bathroom - it smelled like stale smoke and made me sick. My allergies got so bad that I ended up just leaving and booking a hotel room at another resort my last night even though I still had a paid room at ballys for the night. I would not recommend staying here if you're looking for a nice Vegas hotel - for what I paid I'm extremely disappointed as my final bill was over $600.
