"Affordable room for a stay right on the strip"

   21-01-2017
We stayed at the Luxor & everyone was pleased with our room & the price for staying. We did have long wait to register to check-in but otherwise it was a great stay. They have great night life & have shows or attractions every time we have visited Vegas. We had a fabulous view from our room.

"The upgrade to a Tower Suite may be worth it"

   21-01-2017
We stay in the Luxor every time we visit the strip, but we have always been in the East or West Tower rooms/suites. This time we were in a Pyramid Suite and for us, it didn't work. While the room was large, it was tired looking, the bed was old and soft, and when the people next door opened their door, it sounded like they were opening ours. The walls are very thin, as well. We upgraded to a Premium Tower Suite for the rest of our stay and it was wonderful, as usual. (The Luxury Tower Suites are also very nice--just a little smaller). Each suite is different. Some have 2 bathrooms, and some don't. (The Tower Room elevators are quite a walk from check-in/casino area, so be prepared to get your exercise). We prefer the East Tower because it is quieter. The West Tower seems to be on a helicopter/airplane path and you can hear some noise. The casino is very large, and for slot play, there's something for everyone. They have the latest slots, but also some of the older favorites. They pay out enough to keep you entertained. The craps table this time varied between $5-$10, but the BJ table stayed at $10. When we were there in November, both were $5, so it depends upon how full the hotel is. The hotel was sold out on this trip because of some conventions at Mandalay Bay, so the minimums increased, but were still cheaper than those at Mandalay Bay. It's easy to get to Mandalay Bay (and Excaliber) on the walkway, so there's no need to go outside. This is great to escape summer heat and winter cold. We like Mandalay Bay's restaurants choices better (Aureole's gorgeous bar is fabulous for happy hour, and House of Blues is a favorite place for lunch or dinner). It's nice to have the food court available in the Luxor for quick fast-food---and there are plenty of Starbuck locations in the hotel for Starbucks fans. We keep staying here because you can't beat the value, and we love the Tower suites. It's nice to be able to let one person sleep while the other person watches TV in the LR without disturbing them. Yes, the Pyramid rooms might be dated, but the Tower rooms are very nice. Yes, sometimes food is left in the hallway for awhile. Yes, some paint might be pealing off. But, all-in-all, these things are minor when you get a good night's sleep, have fun in the casino, pay a reasonable amount for the room, and can easily walk between the Luxor, Mandalay Bay, and Excalibr and use your M-life card. If you like a huge hotel/casino with lots of glitz, $25 minimum BJ tables, like to watch the pretty people decked out in fine clothes walking around, and eat at pricey/fancy restaurants, you won't like it at the Luxor. Our friends who like those things stay at the Bellagio or Caesars. We like wearing jeans/turtlenecks and running shoes, and we feel perfectly at home at the Luxor. Depends what you're looking for.

"Dissapointing"

   21-01-2017
I have stayed here in the past and was very happy BUT this time I was there during CES and the first thing they did was change my room from a tower suite that I had reserved months in advance to a pyramid suite. I had specifically told them no pyramid rooms. They then moved me to a low floor. They said we couldn't have the room we reserved because they were booked up. The room had stained chairs an extremely uncomfortable couch. The dresser was in the front door nowhere near the bedroom. the maid left a scrub brush on our toothbrush bag never replaced the bag for our ice bucket,The trash by the elevator was overflowing for three days. Sorry Luxor this MLife Gold member will be staying somewhere else next time.

"An Iconic hotel in Vegas, however it needs some work"

   21-01-2017
Don't get me wrong we were crazy about this hotel, just getting into the elevator is a whole new experience. The room looked tired but very clean, a decent size and comfortable. As for the newly renovated rooms it will make such a big difference. The lines for the check in were incredible big, I would imagine that the hotel could predict at this stage this kind of things, however we didn't let that to ruin the experience. The casino was great and the staff was quite friendly. The Buffet is great and the food was quite good.

"Super Affordable, Great Pools, Fun Nightlife"

   20-01-2017
I absolutely LOVE going to the Luxor when I go to Las Vegas. I have stayed there a total of seven times in the last 5 years and it can't get any better for the price. I've gone with my husband as well as just on girls trips and the hotel is set up for both. The rooms in the towers are nicer then in the actual pyramid but it's still fun either way. The carrot top show is amazing and I really enjoyed that, the casino is always hopping, and the staff is good. The only con is that the registration line SUCKS, they need to get more staff up there when you're checking in. Each and every time I have checked in I have been frustrated because of the long lines. The nice thing about staying at the Luxor is that they don't charge you an arm and a leg for sodas, food, etc. I have stayed at some of the nicer hotels and it seems like you have to pay so much for the little stuff.
