"You have got to be kidding me!"

Got here and was greeted by nice front desk person and bellman -Elijah. Was advised that the King size "classic" room I had requested was not available and all they had was 2 queens which, as it were, overlooked a wall. They did switch this out for the king I requested with an obstructed view the next day since I made a fuss. All the rooms are extremely dark. Like so dark you cannot do any work or read the labels on anything. I guess the house keeping staff couldn't read anything either because they left me no lotion and three hair conditioners. So much for the great toiletries that Forbes magazine spoke about. I called the front desk but no one answered so I went downstairs and asked for some lotion at the desk and it was curtly handed over. I went to the pool on top of the hotel the next morning which was OK but the music was nothing anyone had ever heard including the guy who was lifeguarding and the 8 oz margarita was 17 dollars. I was one of 5 people at the pool. The second room they put me in, the king size one, had no soap. And currently it is 430 in the afternoon as I write this and housekeeping has still not come to swap out towels/make bed etc and I still have no soap. They did "turn down" my bed last night while I was out. Tonight since it is 430 they might as well do everything at once. The light above me as I write gets bright and than dim repetitively every 30 second or so which has me a little concerned. Oh but here is the best thing! I go back to the pool today at 1 and am informed that it will be closing somewhere between 2 and 4, no one can be sure and oh by the way you are not allowed to take you 3/4 drunk starbucks ice tea up there with you. So they confiscate my piddly little tea and I make my way to the pool and spend another 17 dollars on a margarita and listen to the exact same sound track as the day before and they come around half hour later saying they are closing at 2. I am hardly surprised at this point and neither were the other 4 people who were in this huge pool area. They all seem to feel resigned as well except for the poor guy next to me who they actually took a food order for. They presented it to him with the news that he had half an hour to eat it... Here's your hat, what's your hurry? Don't worry I won't be hurrying back here! Kudos to Elijah the bellman for putting up a lovely initial presentation. There is a hidden jewel.

"If I could give it a zero I would."

If you want a quiet romantic weekend getaway mixed in with some fun gambling and nightclub at an expensive boutique resort like you would think the Cromwell would be given the marketing you're wrong. If you want noisy hallways all night with partiers, cramped rooms, no ice machines, high security including metal detectors, all night thumping from the night club, shoddy house cleaning, useless workout room, etc. all for hundreds per night - this is your place. Here's the short list: 1. Toilet paper - airport quality. I used restaurant bathrooms because it was so bad. 2. Housekeeping - All of our glasses were left dirty for two days while the rest of the room was cleaned. 3. Near gang fight in the hallway one night - 2:30 in the morning we were on the floor next to the bed. 4. Security guards everywhere - We had to have i.d. and room key on us at all times 5. Pool - We had to go through three levels of security to go up to Drai's Beach Club. No lounge chairs unless you want to pay $100 to reserve one per day so we had to sit in wicker chairs in the middle of literally hundreds of local college students drinking $40 gin and tonics. 6. Pool 2 - concierge tells us that we are free to use the pools at Caesars and the Flamingo which means we have to leave our hotel in our swim suits and cover ups and go across the streets to another hotel to get a lounge chair by a pool. 7. No ice machines - They are willing to deliver ice as a service but of course you'll feel obligated to tip, right? 8. Cramped rooms - They call it Parisian stylish. I call it cramped. The bed is right in front of the door. When somebody comes to the door to see if we need anything or deliver ice, my wife has to jump out of bed and run into the bathroom. 9. Bathroom lacking - On top of the toilet paper issue there is only one sink and it's small and the toilet has no door separating it from the shower and sink. No fan either. 10. Noisy halls - We never were able to sleep through the night. The bed is right on top of the door which provides no dampening. Whenever anybody knocked on another door my wife ran to the bathroom. Partiers all night and the fight made it even worse. I don't know how they got upstairs. 11. Room keys - You need the room key for the elevators and room but there's a trick to using them. You have to have them on the right side, hold them flat, swoosh them over the pad and hope. Everybody was having trouble and a lot of people were going up and down while they were trying to master the swipe. 12. Coffee - None in the room and you had to go to the fifth floor to find the machine. On a positive note, it was the most amazingly goof coffee and hot chocolate so we were rewarded for the effort. 13. Workout room - this was an afterthought located behind the front desk. 2 bikes, 2 elipticals and a couple treadmills looking over the street and the side of Bally's. 14. Special occasion - It was our anniversary and they acknowledged it when we checked in. We don't expect anything but a chocolate on the pillow would have been nice. 15. Housecleaning - If you asked them for anything they were very nice. They seemed to be cleaning rooms all day which added to the noise in the hallways. One day we had the thing on the door all day and they finally did our room while we were at dinner. Turndown service was supposed to be each day but we only got cookies and turndown once during our four nights. 16. Night Club - Drai's is really cool and you get free VIP access but if you're trying to sleep forget it. The thumping upstairs on our 8th floor room was incessant on top of the post nightclub shenanigans in the hallways. I've gone on forever and still have not finished. Bottom line, this experience was on par with my stay at the Oriental when it was under construction and that was at a fifth of the price. My wife was mad at me when I brought up some of the issues with the front desk which made it even worse. Bottom Line - If you're not there for the night club, go anywhere else.

"Birthday trip"

Just came home today from a 3 day weekend at The Cromwell. Have been in the casino and club before but finally decided to stay. I am rating this "very good" because I feel like for the money you pay to stay here, there's just something missing and I can't put my finger on it. However, for the most part I was treated like a queen by the staff and everyone seems so happy to work here and even happier to be able to do for their guests, from the front desk staff to the housekeepers. Everything here is SUPER CLEAN, smells great, well kept, happy employees. Rooms are DARK. One window. Ours viewed an alley full of dumpsters (this may be why I can't give a perfect review). After complaining, they did offer to move me to a room with a better view the next day but by this time I was unpacked and ready to do Vegas stuff. I'm a little bit of a view-snob so this just really let me down. But other than the views some of these rooms must have, this hotel and casino is just perfect for a girls weekend.

"Quality Service and Fun stay"

We enjoyed our stay at the Cromwell. They have done a top quality renovation of this classic hotel casino. Upon checking in we had some extra superior assistance from Gerardo Salgada and Saida the night time guest room attendent. (I asked for their cards so I could recognize their friendly and helpful service getting situated). Also we had an issue when the refrigerator malfunctioned and the manager Daron Robinson resolved the issue and was extremely helpful during our stay. Great stay....

"Amazing, intimate experience"

We were not interested in having to walk miles between the gambling floor, rooms, and parking garage, nor having to deal with tons of obnoxious people everywhere. We also were not interested in having to wait 30 minutes for drinks when gambling, or dismissive staff who are too overwhelmed with all the traffic to give meaningful service. I have nothing negative to say about the Cromwell- The service was stellar, the setting intimate, the rooms were beautiful, the location to other grand hotels was perfect, and the amenities plentiful. The self-service parking was gratis, which I understand is not true of other hotels. We enjoyed the breakfast delivered to our room at appointed times- it was delicious! Everything you could want can be found or obtained for you here. The staff is friendly and wants to make you happy. You don't feel like just another one of 5000 guests at this hotel. With only 188 rooms, they learn your name quickly. I'm glad I found this hotel- we would never stay at another.
