"one bed already slept in and a sunglass lens on the other bed"
It was my wife's 58th birthday when we arrived and it was obvious someone had been in one of the beds and decided they didn't like the room. Went to the front desk and had to wait 45 minutes for the manager (an Indian gentlemen) not native came to address the problem of the bed and we showed him the lens on the end of the bed too. He proceeded to argue with us saying we must have put that there and wouldn't budge but finally he agreed to have the beds changed. Two hours later we finally were able to enjoy my wife's birthday. I sent a detailed email to corporate and they never even bothered to respond. I have pictures of the bed and lens since it was pretty upsetting to see I wanted proof. We have never been to this hotel before but will camp before staying with them again. The other issue was location to the center of town was close, just over a mile but you have to take a taxi because the walk was on a busy road with no sidewalk. There is only one taxi in town and they are very unreliable as we waited at the restaurant for 45 min and called back and she said we had cancelled. 25 min later she showed up,(Buggy Taxi). The other issue is the breakfast starts to late for the boat trip on Lake Powell and gives you 10 minutes to eat before you need to leave even though they have it all ready they obnoxiously keep the door locked so you can't get in.We are major travelers as are my friends and I can't express this enough, avoid this place at all cost !.
"Almost but not quite there..."
We arrived late November to stay one night (mid point between Zion/Bryce and Grand Canyon). The common areas - lobby, breakfast area, hallways- are wonderfully redecorated and look higher end. I loved all the artwork/photographs of the local beautiful scenery. They also had laundry facilities which we very much appreciated! They were also conveniently located to restaurants, grocery stores, etc.. plus we could see the lake from our room. For our king room, first the good... Everything but the shower/toilet room appeared recently remodeled and the room was VERY large.. There was a very large 'living' space with essentially a wet bar (awesome!), then on the other side of a wall was the bedroom. They had a keurig coffeemaker, spectacular. A few of the places we were staying offered this so we were prepared with our own dark roast coffee k cups. The not great... The flooring, which was some kind of laminate, was not installed properly. There didn't appear to be adhesive under it to keep it in place, it looked like it was just rolled out and tacked on the edges so it was bubbled up and loose. It really cheapened the room. The sofa was well past it's prime. My boyfriend described it as it appeared they bought it from a second hand shop. It was stained (it was a light teal color that showed all the stains) and one half of the attached seat cushion was crushed/no support. (I didn't even want to sit on it.) Despite the very large room, there wasn't another seating option except for the chairs at the desk and "dining" table. That is another thing, it was a large room but had a lot of empty, awkward space in it, there were no end tables, etc. For the time of year we visited, it was reasonably priced.
"Very nice rooms, bad service.."
We drove from Zion National Park to Page, to visit Antelope Canyon. Knowing we would be arriving late, I wanted to give the hotel a heads up. I called to let them know, and the response was almost rude, the tone of the person's voice was almost saying "Why are you bothering me now?" The room was very spacious and even though there was a bunch of outdated and uncoordinated furniture in the room, it was really nice to have such a big room. There is a kitchenette in the room, the sink is outside the bathroom, and there was a couch, a desk, a table with six chairs and a big chair with an ottoman. What I liked: (1) Very big room with one king and one queen/full bed. (2) Sink outside the bathroom which makes getting ready much smoother. (3) The appearance of the hotel, the lobby and the room. (4) Breakfast was included. (5) Wifi available in the room. (6) Shower cap available. What I did not like: (1) The attitude the front desk clerk had when I called, and when we checked out. (2) My son had a migraine around 1:30 and could not find the Tylenol I had in our bags, so he went downstairs. The clerk was rude to him; when he asked for a couple of Tylenol, the clerk did not say anything and went in the back, then came back with a packet of 2 tylenol, and said she was going to charge him. When my son said good night she did not even respond. When you are in customer service, you can't have an attitude like that! Especially when one of your guests is not feeling well!!! You are there to make your guests' stay more enjoyable. (3) Did not like that the hotel charges $2 for a packet of 2 Tylenol. I would much rather they did not have a Keurig coffee maker in the room, and instead offered an occasional Tylenol to their guests without charging them! Best Western sent me a request to review my stay, and I said pretty much what I said above. I received a response, saying that they would address my concerns. Hopefully, they will teach their employees to actually provide customer service. Would I stay here again? Yes, because the room was great and the price was very reasonable, but hopefully we will have better customer service next time.
"Great location to visit Lake Powell "
Drove from Las Vegas to Page to stay at this hotel for 4 nights. The queen suite offers comfortable space for 4 adults. Housekeeping service is very good. There is great rush in the morning for the free breakfast. First time I had to stay in line (10-15 people ahead of me!). Best time is to go at 9.30 am. Plan your day accordingly if you want to eat breakfast here. The hotel is located very close to antelope canyon tour office and a number of eateries. Strongly recommend early reservation to the tours - Lower or upper canyon. Don't miss the boat tour offered in lake Powell resorts.
"Comfortable but for families mainly"
Overall the motel was satisfactory. Our room was clean and comfortable. It definitely caters to families but that's not a bad thing, just when seniors come in and are careful how they walk for fear of falling, there are always small children running around. The room was nice though and the staff extremely helpful to us. We had an incident which could have been bad but everyone handled it promptly and as they should immediately. FYI......If you're a platinum member as I am and are used to getting your "small gift bag as a thank you" they don't seem to understand what that's all about at this motel.
