"Things happen for a reason"
I mistakenly booked this hotel thinking it was the Esmeralda Indian Wells and was pleasantly surprised. That stomach lurching feeling of dread when you realise you’ve not only booked your own accommodation incorrectly, but you’ve done it for your whole group! There was nothing I could do to change as I’d booked via a 3rd party in the UK for our friends while using my Marriott reward points for my husband and I. Arrival was smooth and we were checked into a beautiful room overlooking the pool. Quick change and off to explore our surroundings. Pool bar was still open and the pool area still busy. Lovely large pool and lots of beds plus large lounge beds to hire. Waitress service around the pool for drinks and snacks. Very friendly staff. We didn’t eat at the hotel except for breakfast which was fabulous. First day we chose from the menu and second day we realised there was an amazing buffet option which was much better value. Unlimited coffee, fresh juices and a wide selection for everyone. So many good eateries close by. My friend left his shoes on check out and these were sent by UPS quickly to his home. Great service. Couldn’t fault the place except maybe take a look at the prices of your drinks.
"Issues not resolved"
Not real happy with my stay as the morning after I checked in they had the music being tested out of the pool speakers and the way it faced my room particularly it woke me up around 8:30am or so. They said on the website that it would begin at 12 Noon that day but earlier on Saturday. I paid extra for a junior suite hoping to avoid some of these problems and they didn't offer for me to change rooms. Another problem was the air-conditioning. I called down about that and the heat problem I had in the room where it was over 80 degrees in the room. I had a friend with a similar problem staying in another room who also said he was sweating in his room before noon. Neither of us could sleep. I took a sleeping pill and still couldn't sleep. The music is great after Noon but to start testing things out when the sun comes up is unacceptable when it states another time on the website. Great view with the pool and the mountains. One of the best in the world. The hotel has been newly remodeled and the modern art in the room is nice. I doubt I will stay here again because they were not about helping me with my issues at the time.
"Cannabis trade show"
We were at the cannabis trade show this weekend this is a very nice hotel well ran and very professional and had a great swimming pool restaurant excellent rooms completely comfortable bed and well taken care of would highly recommend and will always stay at this hotel anytime I am Visiting Palm Springs on business or pleasure.
"Perfect Relaxing Weekend"
My wife and I spent three nights at the Renaissance Palm Springs over the past weekend, and had a wonderful experience. Reception was fast and the clerk who checked us in was extremely pleasant and helpful. We were upgraded to a junior suite on the third floor that was modern, clean, and quiet, with a very comfortable bed, plus a view of the pool area and mountains. We appreciated the self-parking option ($18 per day), right in front of the hotel. The only meal we ate at the hotel was breakfast each morning, on the outdoor patio of the restaurant. The breakfast was satisfying and more than adequate. Perhaps the most outstanding feature of the hotel was the staff – reception, housekeeping, restaurant, bell, and parking. All with whom we interacted were extremely polite, helpful, and attentive. The location of the hotel (near both the airport and downtown) is excellent, and the price of our room was very competitive with comparable hotels in other cities and resorts. We have stayed at many Marriott hotels over the years, including J.W. Marriott and Renaissance, and must say that the Renaissance Palm Springs was one of the finest that we have encountered. We look forward to return visits in the future.
"Very nice, but a bit dated....."
Hotel overall was very nice but dated decor....rooms were a nice size considering we had one of the Junior Suites. Pool area was nice with the exception that it needed to be "policed". Lounges were brought up right to the steps making it nearly impossible to access the pool. There's plenty of room so give me a break...give other people some consideration! Also, had left items on pool lounges when we went inside for a few minutes...when we came back someone was using our lounges. Food was good, however, the pool cocktail prices were RIDICULOUS..... $14 for a Margarita...and very little Alcohol. Staff was excellent...especially Jose at the Front Desk! Also the Bell Staff was very helpful! We had to request that the thermostat be allowed below 69 degrees....energy savings I suppose.
