"Great Experience "
Everything about our stay was wonderful, but what took the cake (pun intended) was the birthday cake delivered to our room within minutes of our arrival, sent by Abbie at the front desk. When we were checking in she asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. I told her it was my wife's birthday. We had barely gotten into our room and the cake arrived.
"Excellent Hotel in the heart of the Falls"
Very fast check in, SPG Gold recognition. Always offered a box of chocolates/treats at check-in. We've experienced the Presidential Suite, room 2273. The room is gorgeous, two floors situated on the top corner of the hotel. The views are wonderful. Room contains 2 bathrooms, a king size bed, a jacuzzi with a view, 3 balconies and more. Room service and house keeping are very friendly. Rooms are clean. We had an amazing experience at this property. We've stayed here more than 10 times and we highly recommend this place for everyone. Our regards to everyone at this lovely property. Mr. and Mrs. Dakkak
"Very disappointed, despite the great views "
A few items to consider. I am a SPG member for many years and gave Sheraton a preference for this trip to Niagara right after my birthday. The cost is high but I would agree to pay if we did not have so many minor and not so minor problems : stained sheets and pillow cover, dirty bathtub, tiny little shower area, crowded elevators, dirty and crowded lobby, small indoor pool, ordinary hotel room, etc. (The heating system and room insulation was very good though). As for the service, for example, sending a text message to the electronic concierge does bot work. Self Parking is expensive and not handy. Resort fee is inappropriate since it is not really a resort. Now, the most outrageous is the TIF or PIF (incentive fee?) Of 6.5% that you would pay on top of everything in Niagara (ask to be removed) as if you are not spending a lot of money there already.
"Great family hotel"
Just spent a weekend at this hotel, and it was a great family experience. Check in was quick and friendly. Amenities are great - watermark, arcade, spa, Starbucks, buffet restaurant, pool, etc. Rooms are not the most modern (probably updated ten years ago) but they are comfortable and clean. Amazing view of the Falls from floor to ceiling on upper floors. Can't beat the night lights! My only complaint was the rather slow elevators, one of which was out of commission the day we arrived. There is also a lot of confusion about which hotels are for which floors, so lots of people bumping into each other not knowing where to go. Overall, though, will definitely come back. I thought the value, which included water park passes, was great.
This is our second time at this hotel in five years and our experience this time was extremely disappointing. Peter's Principle states that "some people are promoted to the highest level of their own incompetence"...this was evident at this hotel starting with the poor customer service we received from the General Manager and it continued down to the Guest Services Supervisor. Reservations either provided misleading information or withheld essential information and there was no flexibility with the two inept clowns mentioned earlier to adhere to the conditions during reservation or compromise with the customers. There are numerous hidden cost which they will not tell you about, for example, when you are told that the room rate is $309 per night plus tax, one does not expect to pay $370 (Hst Tax: 13.0 % Per Room / Per Night, Promotional Fee 6.67 % Per Room / Per Night, Hotel ChargesRoom rate excludes the following: Resort Fee: 15.95 Cad Per Room / Per Night ). The horrible experience started with the valet and the General Manager continued the downward trend. I will never stay at this poop hole again as long as I live.
