"Beautiful hotel, but do something about the insulation..."
My husband and I stayed here for two nights, from a Monday to a Wednesday. We've been visiting Niagara Falls for years now, but had never stayed here. We were excited when we booked our trip. We arrived at 4pm (their check in time) to a lineup of people waiting. Since they have a Starbucks in their lobby, a Starbucks employee came over and offered everyone waiting a mini sized hot chocolate which was really nice (and delicious, by the way, I'm now addicted). Staff were very friendly and professional. I did ask about a deal on the parking as it's $29/night, which I think is outrageous. Unfortunately, nothing could be done. You are able to go in and out though throughout your stay. We stayed in room 2063 (I think) on the 20th floor. It was a king suite with a Jacuzzi tub, fire place, sitting area, king sized bed and balcony. Honestly, this was the most beautiful room we've ever stayed in. Very modern and very clean. The mini fridge was a nice touch. I do have to say though: when in our bathroom, we could hear EVERYTHING the family above us said in their room/bathroom. They weren't talking loud either. Something needs to be done. This could also be faintly heard in our room. Very disappointing. I was shocked, actually, that a hotel such as this would have this problem. Our bed was SUPER comfortable. It felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. Another warning: WATCH OUT FOR THE PF TAX THAT THEY WILL ADD ONTO YOUR BILL. This is an optional tax. They added it onto the room and parking charges for both days. When we were checking out, I asked for it to be taken off and they did so without a problem. If you don't say anything though or notice it, they will charge you. I'd like to give The Sheraton a better rating, but with the insulation problem affecting us like it did... Better luck next time...
I was booked into this location for a conference. Staff were very accommodating and helpful with directions around the area. My room was very clean, comfortable and had a spectacular view of the American Falls!!! I would highly recommend the Sheraton on the Falls.
"great stay at the falls"
The entire staff from valet to check-in to room service people where exceptional and very friendly, You should be very proud of your entire staff, I couldn't have felt comfortable then I did at the Sheraton on the falls. looking forward to my next trip to Canada and the Sheraton on the falls.
"Very happy with our stay!!"
considering I had read lots of mediocre reviews prior to visiting, I was very happy with our overall stay at the hotel. *Parking Tip* If you get a casino card/ plan on gambling at all.. get a PAC card and then park your car in the casino parking lot.. it was a very easy walk over to the hotel and we got FREE parking!!! (well not including the money we spent at the casino) There were a lot of signs to follow to walk over to hotel There is a Starbucks in the lobby! that even had free newspapers in the morning! They also have Starbucks coffee in your room to make :) very nice perk! I found the decor to be quite nice and updated. We are SPG members so we were on that floor. The elevator was always very fast. The hallway and decor was quite nice. Our room was quite large and we had an INCREDIBLE view of the falls!! we got to see both the American and Canadian falls it was beautiful. Bed was very comfortable, there is a couch in the room as well. Minor downside our curtains didn't close completely and so it was a bit difficult to sleep in...(that is not a big deal - i am pretty much just looking for downsides) The only issue i had overall was the bathroom!! 1) I am very pregnant currently and they had the worlds TINYIEST shower stall!! which was so strange in such a large bathroom. I could barely fit! and it was so outdated which was so strange to me. My husband said it was not the easiest to maneuver in 2) they had this great big tub but with this horrible very large mirror that faced the toilet.. so while your sitting on the toilet you get to stare at yourself?!? very strange placement both my husband and I found not the most enjoyable... But really those are the only 2 things.. we ordered room service which was decent and we enjoyed it.
"Family day hotel comedy of errors"
My family and stayed here for 1 night in a dual level suite (which costs a good bit of money ) but we figured why not it's for our kids. It was family day weekend and the hotel was very busy. Our room was reserved 3 weeks prior and I even called 2 days before to make sure the details were taken care of. Those included; early check in ( before 4pm), the correct amount of beds in the room. 2 doubles on the main level etc etc. We arrived at 12pm and the room was not ready and that was ok since we wanted to explore with the kids. They took our number and said that they would call us when the room was ready. Well no one called and at 3pm I called to check in and was told that the room is in pending status. At 4 pm which is guaranteed check in I went to the front desk physically and was told that there was an spg platinum member in the room and they were not ready to leave and they were going to send up the manager to move them along. Ftr, I myself am a spg gold member and was somewhat taken back by the comment. In the end we didn't get to our room until after 5. They offered me a similar room however with a cot vs the 2 beds I was assured, 1/2 price on the room and a bottle of local wine for my wife and I. Truth be told our family wanted to get to our room so I took what ever they offered and didn't make a fuss. As I said to the manager, why wasent I told the truth from the beginning? If I was traveling alone there would have been a much bigger discussion. Nice room just lots of fuss
