"Sheraton on the Falls Wedding"
First of all, location is wonderful, nice view of the falls, close to Clifton Hill, perfect. We booked everything at the hotel for our small wedding for convenience, especially since we were not familiar with Niagara Falls at all. The gazebo we booked for the ceremony was really nice and the staff set it up perfectly and on time. The Fallsview Buffet restaurant and the Chef's Table room we booked for our reception was perfect, staff were very friendly and professional and checked on us regularly and the food was good and had a nice variety. Our Deluxe Fallsview room we booked had a spectacular view and the room was pretty nice and spacious but nothing overly impressive and kind of had a dated smell to it. After sleeping our first night though, we discovered a dried blood stain on the under corner of the comforter that we had not noticed before because it was on the under side of the comforter. Called down to the front desk and it was changed but we felt it should not have been there in the first place. Concierge people were friendly, professional and very helpful. Back to our wedding, we felt that as we paid so much money to the hotel to have all of our event there that someone should have at least made an effort to speak to us and go through things for our event, this did not happen. We had to explore the hotel ourselves to check out the ceremony and reception areas and search out the sales manager that was dealing with our event. There was no signage or anything directing our guests to the different parts of our event which would have been helpful since some of them had trouble locating the areas almost resulting in me, the bride, getting there before everyone else. I had to be poked away to avoid being seen before the event. Also, no signage saying there was a private ceremony taking place on the gazebo which left us to wonder what we were paying for if people were free to walk in on our ceremony. Luckily, no one intruded. Three of our people were unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances but unfortunately, our contract was paid including those three people. We requested perhaps getting a bottle of wine or drinks to offset the unused portion of our contract and we couldn't get extra food because it was a buffet but we were declined. We understand contracts but I know of venues in the area that accommodated people we knew with similar issues but Sheraton on the Falls offered nothing but an empty apology. Also, I was under the understanding that simple floral arrangements would be placed in the private room we booked for the reception and upon arrival discovered only a centerpiece of fake dried leaves in a vase that likely already belonged to the room and were moved to the table for dinner. Emailed the hotel after getting home to complain and was told that the sales manager said that I didn't get back to him on the floral arrangements and he gave me florist info if I wanted to purchase flowers for the table. I am from Newfoundland, I couldn't travel back with fresh flowers so I wasn't going to order any especially since I was fine with the simple floral arrangements I was promised. I did email to confirm with the sales manager about the flowers and I have the email to prove it but it was obvious the hotel was not concerned about our issues. WIFI is only free in the rooms for guests that are paying a resort fee and you get charged $15.99 per day! We were not informed of this and as we were given a group rate were subject to the daily fee unless we wanted to hang out in the lobby for free WIFI. Several people were charged from our group since none of us were made aware that WIFI was not free for us in the rooms. This is ridiculous considering how expensive everything at the hotel is and also considering many budget hotels in the area offer free WIFI. We spoke to the front desk and the charges were removed which was good but a heads up in the first place would have been nice. All in all, not a horrible experience, certainly not enough to ruin our trip or our event but it didn't hold up to Sheraton status in my opinion on certain aspects especially concerning an important event like a wedding.
"Awesome view, great staff"
Our room faced the American Falls. It was wonderful to wake up and see and hear the falls. At night colored lighting lit up the falls in reds, blues, greens and more. Highly recommend the rooms facing the falls. The staff was very friendly and helpful with any need I had. Great conference venue. Had a wonderful time.
"Dirty dining room.Good location."
Had a falls view room on the ninth floor which did have a great view of the falls.its queen beds were comfortable but the room was out dated and tired, air conditioning was noisy. The bar over looks the gift shop which I found a bit odd.i tried the buffet breakfast which was expensive after three attempts to eat a English breakfast I gave up and had some cornflakes and coffee, all for the grand price of 29 dollars.the dinning room was dirty and dusty the tables and chairs in my opinion need to be cleaned properly or replaced.Self parking cost 29 dollars +tax per night. All in all I think my ratting of 2 stars is fair. The staff were friendly and helpful.
"Great location and conference centre"
I spent a weekend at this hotel attending a conference and thought that the venue was great. It is a short distance from the falls and has excellent views. The food was excellent and the staff are really helpful.
"Great place to stay in Niagara"
Lovey hotel in the centre of the resort with fantastic views of the falls, especially from the restaurant. Great family room for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Breakfast was extra but well worth the money with a fantastic choice of food and amazing views. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially the waiters in the restaurant. Niagara Falls is amazing and photos don't do it justice and Sheraton on the falls is an ideal place to stay.
