"Weekend Getaway..."

We stayed at this hotel - Crowne Plaza Key West La Concha and I have to admit the property is really nice and comfortable. Rooms are very accommodating and comfortable - which is important to me. The staff incl. management were very nice, friendly and attentive. The lobby bar - Awesome! Great bartender, ambiance and overall setting. I had to make an inquiry with management... which turned out well as management took the time to accommodate us accordingly by extending our stay and allowing us to remain within the same room - so I was quite pleased and will certainly consider this property for future stays in Kew West.Thank you Mike and Steve!

"Set the record straight "

This is a great hotel! These people that complain are just not in touch with reality. The cardio gym has 3 treadmills and 2 ellipticals and are in great shape. It has a great view of key west. Location is right in the middle of everything. The bar food was probably the only slight weakness.

"An Oasis of calm midst the madness that is Duval Street"

This is a totally charming hotel and is a listed historical building of America. It is, located in the heart of Duval Street. Beautiful foyer with bespoke furnishings and relaxing alcoves and a bar that has happy hour serving great bite sized snacks, have the lobster fingers. the are delicious. Rooftop pool is intimate with good sized tiki bar and sun deck, overlooking Duval Street. Rooms really well appointed beds extremely comfortable. Service is excellent at this hotel, nothing is too much for the staff. Valet parking only. This hotel also has a restaurant wine bar and starbucks.

"Best trip to Key West so far thanks to La Concha!"

I have come to Key West for many years and usually look for places outside of town and rely on shuttle buses or taxis. This time I took my family and decided to stay downtown. I am also an Ambassador member of the IHG, and Crown Plaza is part of their hotel chain. I was impressed with everything about this hotel. The front staff is extremely courteous and the valet service was prompt and efficient. Note there is a valet charge of $26 per day, just factor it into your budget, I felt it was worth the convenience and they were always available. Hotel lobby is welcoming and modern. You are literally near every attraction within a 5 - 10 minute walk, so the location is perfect if you plan to visit the Hemingway house, Truman Little White House, the Light House, Mel's Museum, and of course Mallory Square for the awesome sunsets and amazing street performers. As a family of four, we had a 'junior' suite which was spacious including the bathroom. There was also a small dressing area. The room service was friendly and accommodating, providing extra towels every day. If you have breakfast in the hotel, keep in mind the portions are huge, so you may want to share. Absolutely enjoyed every breakfast dish we ordered - pancakes, eggs benedict, Cuban breakfast sandwich, waffles, all delicious and promptly served. We had a third floor room, so you might hear some noise from the street below, but the air conditioner pretty much dims it effectively, and the windows have double glass insulation. Bed was comfortable and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly. There is no room safe, but a fairly good size refrigerator - there is also a 24 hour CVS right next door which has a huge variety of snacks. There have been some comments about the roof top bar being gone, it is not, it was just moved to the pool area which is accessible on the second floor. Pool was small but nice, including the drinks from our friendly bartender. On the roof now is a new spa which has first class treatment rooms, my wife had an 80 minute massage and she was treated like royalty. If anything, they are more than happy to show you the spa if you choose a service or not. So overall, absolutely no complaints, a little more pricey but you get what you pay for, if we end up coming back to Key West, this will be an easy choice to stay again and again.

"I won't go back (even though I come to Key West every year)"

Location absolutely cannot be beat. Everything is a short walk away and they also have a super handy and free shuttle that will take you to most of the places you want to go. Oh, and the lobby of this hotel is lovely. There you go - that is literally EVERYTHING positive I can say about the hotel. When we checked in, we were given keys to a room on the "historic" side of the hotel. No mention was made of this adjective when we booked. "Historic" is apparently code for "tiny". I stay in rooms in Manhattan and all over Europe regularly and have literally NEVER stayed in a room so small. If the furniture we smaller it might work better but it isn't and the room is quite literally claustrophobic. As is the bathroom where one must turn sideways in order to close the door before using the facilities. The shower is exactly the same size as the rest of the bathroom unless you factor in the oversized vanity. Honestly - I am just now finished drying my hair on the inappropriately large sofa in the bedroom because there is no where to do so in the bathroom. But the last straw happened for me this morning. It's Saturday. I leave the island on Monday to fly to my next business meeting in DC. I brought the suit I wore when flying here down to the lobby at 9:15 to have it dry cleaned. I knew I had missed the pickup for today (at 9:00) - no problem. The slip said laundry service is available every day. The person at the desk happily accepted my bag. Then, luckily, I went across the lobby for coffee. Another hotel employee came over to me and told me that laundry service wasn't available on Sunday and that I should expect my clothes back on Monday. I will be gone on Monday, I said. She then very defensively said it wasn't the hotel's fault - it is the dry cleaner's fault. I corrected her. Telling her that I am staying in the hotel - and paying quite a bit of money to do so - not in the dry cleaner, so it is the hotel's fault. She argued. I left her and had to go retrieve the clothes myself. I asked for the manager. Not around. I went back to my room and called the manager but when the front desk routed me there I got voice mail - and a voice telling me the mailbox was full. Wow. Just wow. Color me gone.
