Over Edgewater South Beach
Dit historische boutique hotel werd in 1936 in Mediterraanse stijl gebouwd. De rustieke Zuid-Europese sfeer en de persoonlijke service maken van dit hotel een prima verblijf. De comfortabele studio's en suites zijn zo ontworpen dat de lichtinval optimaal is en bieden uitzicht op de oceaan of South Beach. Het zal u aan niks ontbreken op de kamer voorzien van flatscreen televisie, WiFi en kitchenette.
De populaire winkelstraat Lincoln Road en boetieks en galeries van Collins Avenue bevinden zich op loopafstand. Even genoeg van de ´hustle and bustle´ van Miami? Op het dakterras van het hotel met uitzicht over Ocean Drive is het heerlijk vertoeven op een van de ligbedden.

"Great gem in perfect location"
Truly terrific staff make you feel welcome- especially Brittany and Edward. Check in was smooth despite lobby construction. Simple but complimentary breakfast delivered to the room and happy hour 5-6. Very simple but a nice way to meet people. Great room, updated, clean, partial ocean view- especially higher floors. You are truly in the heart of South Beach right on Ocean Drive. Easy walk to lots of restaurants and across the street from the beach. They'll lend you chairs and towels! No pool and the restaurant out front is just ok. Spent 2 nights here and then went down the road to the Courtyard Marriott which is on the beach and has 2 pools and a hot tub.
"Comfortable stay on Ocean Drive"
It was a rough start upon check in. Front desk staff came across on the rude side perhaps because of all guests waiting for a room and it was already 2pm. In either case staff should always remain hospitable. I was already aware of the renovations therefore that wasn't too much of the bother. Once we finally got into the room all was smooth. Enjoyed the studio room feel, the balcony and general accommodations. It was also a nice feeling to walk out of the hotel and be immediately in the festivities of ocean drive. Yes, it was on the rough side but I would come back and look for improvements in service and finished accommodations.
"Good try, not yet there "
Still in the process of completing the renovation. Not there yet. Nice appointments , but hastily done. They probably tried to push for opening before the new year's eve rush to Miami Beach. They will get there and eventually meet marriott standards, not there yet. Great acommodating staff.
"Diamond in the rough"
I'm a Marriott Rewards Platinum guest, so stay almost exclusively in Marriotts. We had no warning that this property was under renovation. I've never had to change hotels in the middle of a vacation before, but I had to move to a different hotel during this vacation. From the start, the stay started poorly. Even with GPS, we drove past the hotel on our first pass by. There is no parking out front of the hotel, and on this day they had no valet, and no space to unload. The lobby is in poor shape as they renovate, and the only elevator moved slowly between floors. Happy Hour is on a plastic table in the hallway as they renovate. Rooms are good, but evidence of the renovations are everywhere. Good staff, responding as best they could, but all in all, a substandard Marriott experience.
"1st Christmas on South Beach"
This was the best Christmas ever. It started with me arriving to the hotel, Ashley and JC greeted me. Welcomed me to the hotel and advised me my room wasnt ready. I was kinda upset about not being able to check in. But JC & Ashley assured me my room should be ready no later then 3pm. The duo suggested some area things to do in the meanwhile. After a couple hours I returned to the hotel, and my room still wasn't ready. I already knew what to expect because I'm a hospitality professional too. Early check-in is a request. But I returned and Ashley told me not to worry and that I was actually waiting for a newly renovated suite to be cleaned. After that, I didn't care how long it took to get into my room. Finally I was checked into my newly renovated studio suite. They new room was chic, clean , nicely arranged. My favorite part of my suite was the bathroom. The marble shower and huge sink, with lite mirror. Finally the fun begins. Continental breakfast was good. 5th floor terrace and reception was nice. Housekeeping staff are nice and on point. Engineering is dynamite. Front desk staff always helpful and smiling when I would pass the desk. James is very nice and helpful. Great stay, clean rooms, and 1st class service. I definitely will be back and really considering making South Beach Christmas a ritual.
