De Aloft Sarasota creëert, door zijn industriële inrichting, een informele sfeer. Op de achtste verdieping is een zwembad en een hot tub, vanwaar u kunt genieten van een panoramisch uitzicht. In de Aloft Backyard bevinden zich twee zithoeken met vuurkorven. Hier kunt u in de avond met een heerlijk drankje bijkomen van de dag. Het hotel heeft een eigen bar waar live muziek wordt gespeeld en heerlijke cocktails worden geserveerd. Tevens biedt de Aloft Sarasota de mogelijkheid om fietsen te huren, dé manier om Sarasota nog beter te ontdekken.

"great location"

Small, but comfortable and well-designed room. Good meeting facilities and the staff took good care of our group with room and lunch. Valet parking available. Great location to walk to great restaurants.

"Great Hotel Great Location"

Spent two nights here on holiday. Nice, funky hotel as most Alofts are. Best part is the neighborhood. Tons of restaurants, coffee houses, shops, galleries, etc. within easy walking distance. Maybe it was the time of year, but it was strangely quiet where ever we went in Sarasota. Rooms are nice and spacious enough and well appointed. Rooftop pool and bar is really awesome. Plenty of chaise lounges and sun with soothing music playing. Lobby bar was fun, not too crowded, but a nice place to have a nightcap. Only criticism is that the staff is almost non-existent, maybe by design. Perfectly friendly and helpful when needed, but not outwardly engaged. No big deal. Regardless, loved the location and would stay again if in town.

"Good Three-Star Level, Central Location"

I spend 50-100 days a year in mostly 4 and 5 star hotels around the world, and would state with some conviction that this is a good, solid 3-star property, but simply lacks the amenities, services, and room quality to qualify as 4-star. Aloft is oriented toward younger, single guests and its room design is slightly eclectic. The bathroom and toilet are not enclosed, so if you are using the toilet there is not much privacy. The shower stall is dangerously slippery, while the shower head can be comfortably adjusted only by persons over 6 feet tall. There is no restaurant, but a few breakfast items are available retail. The location is quite good, walking distance to the Opera, Whole Fods, and Main Street with restaurants and cinemas. Laundry service was unsatisfactory; several items were lost, while those that came back didn’t smell very fresh even though they had not been particularly soiled. In the high Winter season, I felt the room rate was a bit high compared with the hotel’s general quality level.

"Felt like home"

I stayed at the Aloft in downtown Sarasota during a business trip recently. The hotel was well appointed and right downtown which made walking to dinner and meetings a breeze. The best part of my stay was the lobby bar. The bar tender Sibel was so friendly and gave me great restaurant suggestions and ideas of things to do in the area. Every night when I came back to the hotel she would chill with me and introduce me to people at the bar. She made great martini's too! Business travel can be so lonely, but with Sibel at the bar I felt like I was coming home every night. I met some new friends and had a great trip. I will definitely be coming back

"Only Millennials Wanted, Evidently "

Where to begin? The young man staffing the valet parking when we arrived did not welcome us, did not smile, he did flatly ask for a last name to check against his list, but once he knew our names and that we were reserved, he remained unwelcoming. As we opened the car to unload, he did not ask to help us, did not get us a cart, nor did he direct us to a luggage cart. I found the cart in my own. He was so unhelpful that I thought he might tell us to park the car ourselves and yet still pay $15 per day! When we walked in we were a bit surprised by the overall feel of the “lobby”. Upon reflection, I would call it very youth oriented—-more like a jazzed up student union with a big bar. The room: oddly planned. The closet forced one to hang clothing on a short pole that is perpendicular to the “sliding door” which made it difficult to hang our clothes and keep them from being rumpled. The door to the closet did NOT SLIDE easily which was also true if the door to the shower/toilet area. Lord help the weak when trying to move the bathroom door! The lighting in the room seemed odd. Should one get up in the middle of the night, the lighting one has to use illuminated the entire room—-too bad for your sleeping husband. Why oh why do hotels, this one included offer only ONE hook to hang a used towel? This is a DOUBLE room—-where does one hang the second towel? Why is there NO place to hang the hand towel and face cloth once used at the sink? ALL THIS INCONVENIENCE AFTER ONE IS ENCOURAGED TO NOT USE HOUSEKEEPING—-saving energy is fine, we support that, however dry towels and face cloths should be a part of the deal. We went up to the pool deck to get a light lunch and to assess the pool area. Once one finds it (signage issues) the music is blaring and the menu was sparse and uninteresting. However, even if the food offerings had been of interest, we could not have enjoyed staying in that environment. We could not have talked to each other anywhere on the deck. Worst yet, the following day there was a DJ up there....is this a pool deck or dance party? When we returned from the theater at night, we thought we might have a nightcap at the bar. We walked through the front doors at about 10:30 pm and were met by—-wait for it—-blaring music which caused us to race to the elevator. Again is this a lobby or a raucous student union? The much advertised keyless system using one’s cell phone never worked. We were at one point told we were denied use fir reasons unknown to the young woman at the “kiosk registration” area. Having gone on line and researched the “requirements”, we could not find any reason we would be denied this much advertised amenity. Our room phone, only located on the desk, NEVER WORKED over our entire stay, though we did tell the “front desk”. Although we could see other people our ages, we did not feel welcome in this environment—-we are not millennials and Aloft clearly is not interested in us, so our next trip to Sarasota will involve another hotel more likely to welcome us and wish to serve us.
