Over Moana Surfrider, a Westin Resort & Spa

"Vacation from Sausalito Ca."
I live in a great location, in California. Taking a respite from the day to day at the Surfrider was a wonderful surprise. The Manager Tom, was so welcoming. This, as well as the front desk people, right on down to the people that cared for my room, was the best I've ever experienced. I've been coming to Hawaii since 1951, by the way. That is saying a lot. Then there is the ambiance..... I want to recommend to others, beyond compare. I hope to come back, to the Surfrider.
"A great Thanksgiving vacation at a wonderful hotel! Best family vacation EVER!"
This hotel is fantastic! From the minute we walked in we were treated like royalty. We stayed for a week over Thanksgiving Break. The hotel is definitely upscale but it also has a laid back vibe. The front desk person, Christine, was warm and checked us in quickly. Our rooms were on the 11th floor over looking the ocean. You can hear the waves and the soothing Hawaiian music from the room. The room was great with everything we needed. The patio was a great place to sit and watch the surfers and the waves. We were travelling with our two teenage children who enjoyed the beach, the pool, the poolside snack shack (with super friendly Nancy working there). It couldn't have been any better. Every hotel employee we encountered was friendly and helpful. We went to the beach as soon as we got there. Two surf instructors, DeDe and Lumpy, set us up with paddle boards and surf boards. They gave us tips on how to use the boards. They helped set up our umbrellas and beach chairs. The towel guy, Lee, gave us information about the area and things we should see. It seemed like all the workers had been there a long time and were really happy. Another perk about this place is the Beach Club. It's a lounge/restaurant overlooking the beach with indoor and outdoor seating. Every morning they had an amazing buffet breakfast with a variety of yummy foods. My teenagers were in heaven and we loved it, too. And in the evening free beer and wine and appetizers from 5-8pm. What's not to love about that?! Jeni in the Beach Club always stopped by our table to say hi and ask about our trip - super friendly people but not intrusive, just naturally nice. I have to say I was very sad about leaving our fabulous hotel and can't wait to go back! This was by far the best vacation we have had as a family and we travel often. This hotel just makes it easy to relax - everything you need is right on the property! I highly recommend this place.
An amazing thanksgiving buffet meal. The view from the table was beautiful. We sat inside but by the huge windows right on the beach. Get there before sunset and watch the ocean with your meal. The food options were many and seafood was fresh
"Such a great place to stay!"
I stayed at this hotel a few times about 10 years ago and was happy to be back! My 4 night stay was absolutely amazing! The front desk and Beach Bar employees were great! The hotel is in a perfect location and always has a good vibe to it - lots of hussle and bustle and good people watching. Will be back for sure!
"Central location with historic charm that can't be beat"
We stayed here in Nov for 4 days. The Hotel's common area is gorgeous, I am sure it has been renovated a few times over its 100 plus year history. Hotel features front an back porch with wooden rocking chairs, floor to ceiling windows and doors that fold up to create an indoor / outdoor oasis. The main feature in the courtyard is this massive Banyan tree creating natural shade and seems to be integrated into the hotel. Pool was small but the beautiful ocean is 50 meters away. The room we got was a partial ocean view in the new tower with a balcony and king bed. The Room is pretty much standard Westin quality but could have been decorated better to match the older part of the hotel. Since there are many Japanese tourist we also got a Japanese style automatic toilet which is always nice. The location is the most central of all the hotels, walking distance to everything. We will definitely be back.
