"Great conference location"

We facilitated a management conference at the Kimstpon Marlowe during December. The hotel amenities are great, and the conference facilities were wonderful. We found the rental of equipment such as a projector, flip chart, screen to be very expensive and opted to take our own which was allowed. The hotel is not centrally located if you wish to explore Boston's highlights on foot, but the subway is a short walk away and very convenient to reach locations such as the North End. The Museum of science is walking distance.

""Fantastic stay at The Marlowe 12/3/16!!""

My husband & I stayed here overnight for a company event held a few blocks away at the Museum of Science. What a GEM of a hotel! The hotel is very modern/ eclectic designed; we loved our room. We even received a surprise champagne & chocolate covered strawberries tray delivered to our room (they knew it was our wedding anniversary). How thoughtful is that?! Beds were very comfortable.. I requested feather pillows upon arrival, and sure enough, they were already on the bed. From the doorman, to the bartender, to the front desk & all the staff-A+ customer service, EVERYONE was so friendly!! I will be booking a return weekend getaway this week!!! Excellent hotel!

"Poor service from staff, exceptional restaurant"

I stayed at the Marlowe for three nights, although I reserved and paid for four nights. The hotel staff was generally inexperienced and seemingly indifferent to the quality of my stay. Certainly this is only my personal experience, and perhaps I am not the right type of guest for them. I have stayed at Kimpton properties for over a decade, and at the Marlowe many times in the past, but perhaps they now cater to a younger demographic. Regardless, I got the message loud and clear. There were a number of issues with my stay that were more difficult than they should have been. The outlet in my bathroom didn't work, for instance, and I had to go through three staff members on the phone and finally a visit to the front desk before someone suggested that maintenance would take a look at it. When I returned later that night, there was a note explaining that it was fixed, and they sent up some "we're sorry" gummy bears along with my dinner order. I feel like this typifies the hotel's current approach to hospitality: Cute gestures over substance. My primary issue involved the noise that was pumped into my room from mid-afternoon to late evening every single day. Was it from an adjacent night club? No, rather the hotel plays music through loudspeakers in the valet area. I asked about this at the front desk and I was told that "the music is not usually audible from the 3rd floor." Oh... my bad? The gentleman at the front desk said he would ask them to turn it down, and fortunately this succeeded. For one day. The major concern here was clearly pacifying me in the moment, because the next day the music was back at its previous loud volume. I learned to sleep with earplugs in. That brings me to this afternoon when I tried to teleconference from my room, again with this continual hotel-generated, pointless soundtrack pumping, thudding, rattling into my room. I asked my colleague if he would mind delaying the conversation for an hour, and in the mean time booked a room at another hotel. I am swallowing some $300+ in additional costs just to avoid their property; feel free to interpret that however you like. There is one aspect of the hotel which is clearly separately managed: the restaurant. I have rarely had such remarkable, consistent food from a "hotel restaurant." While I don't prefer eating with earplugs in, the food was so phenomenal that I could almost forget. I had 4-5 meals from them, every one exceptional. (I also had one lunch from the "all day" dining menu that I refuse to believe is associated with the restaurant. It was inedible. Despite it being my first meal of the day, I couldn't eat more than a couple bites. I called down and let them know. I suspect the tray is still sitting outside my room 12 hours later because... well, that's what I came to expect.)

"A City Gem without the Flash"

My husband and I stayed at the Kimpton Marlowe Hotel during the Thanksgiving holiday and were made truly comfortable from the minute we left our car with the valet/bellman to the check in process with Sean to walking into a beautiful, clean and spacious room with a great view. I happened to ask Sean as we were heading out for the evening about coffee in the morning and he offered a Keurig for the room. We had the feeling that there wasn't anything they wouldn't do to accommodate us. We will definitely be back as our daughter lives in the Boston area and the hotel was convenient to everything.

"Great hotel in a convenient location"

Stay here because it is walking distance to our Cambridge office just on Canal park. However, it is convenient to get to various places like Lechmere T station and North Station and Logan Airport. As you'd expect with Kimpton hotels this is no exception. Well run, great service, beautifully decorated and great rooms. They also do their 5-6pm Happy hour with complimentary wine/beer
