Over Royal Sonesta Hotel
Gelegen aan de Cambridge-kant van de Charles River biedt het Royal Sonesta u een schitterend uitzicht over de stad. Boston, de hoofdstad van de Amerikaanse staat Massachusetts, heeft zo’n 600.000 inwoners. Boston werd in 1630 gesticht door puriteinse kolonisten die de nieuwe vestiging de naam Boston gaven, naar de gelijknamige stad in Lincolnshire in Engeland.
"What you would expect"
It's a decent hotel, pretty standard, not too much character, nothing Boston about it, but staff very nice and helpful. Standard rooms are on smaller size, windows minuscule, but rooms clean and functional, beds comfortable. Taxi stand right outside hotel. Overall good stay for business meetings, connections, overnights. Good location convenient to train and airport.

Extremely noisy and difficult to sleep. I was placed in one of the rooms that was connected to another room (even though I was traveling alone) and at 4am, the person in the other room was slamming doors and coughing/vomiting for over an hour. An hour later, it ended when that person slammed the door and left the room completely. I'm assuming they were drunk, but still this should not have happened at 4am on a Tuesday morning. Lighting was poor in rooms and shower water kept turning on from hot to cold. Overall, a very disappointing experience.
"Nice hotel, but hidden costs made it not worth it at all"
Booked on a third party site and was glad to have a reasonable rate for what appeared to be a nice hotel. Didn't read the fine print. Was disappointed to find the on site parking garage was any additional $42 four the night. Parking rates are the same for guests as they are for the public. No discount. To add insult to injury, realized after parking that there was free street parking directly behind the building. Wanted a bottle of wine in the room, found our choices to be a $39 bottle of wine delivered via room service, with an automatic 18% gratuity tacked on, or to purchase from the bar the least expensive bottle being $60. Curious as to the markup, we googled that bottle and found it could be purchased at a local wine store for $4. You would think complimentary coffee would be served in the lobby, but no. That to me seems like an absolute minimum that should be done. Finally, after leaving well before checkout time, forgot something in the room and for some reason the keys no longer worked. In order to get in, I would have had to go in and show ID (as opposed to my fiancee who made the trip to the room in the first place to find that the key didn't work) and it was altogether just not worth the hassle and a completely unnecessary inconvenience.
"Hannie Khalil Is Terrific"
When I stayed at your hotel, Hannie provided me with excellent service! I have stayed at the Royal Sonesta on numerous occasions and I have always been satisfied! The staff is always helpful, and the rooms are well-appointed. The Royal Sonesta provides good value for the price it charges.
"Great hotel but need a car"
I came for a corporate seminar and was extremely comfortable in the hotel. First of all, I cannot say enough good things about the staff! Everyone I encountered went out of their way to be helpful and they were genuinely happy to interact with guests. My room was small and had a partial view of the river. Despite the small size, every element of the room was smartly designed to make the most of the space. The unit under the tv, for example, contained a mini fridge, a coffee maker, and two drawers for my belongings. The bed is super comfortable and there is a clever system which turns on floor lights if you get up in the middle of the night. Woweeee! My only issues - no big deal for most people, but i have â€œspecial needs...â€ concern food. I am vegetarian, gluten free and there was very little on the hotel menus that worked for me. That being said, I ordered room service for dinner one night and had a bunch of sides which were very good AND the staff could not have been more accommodating. The other days, I ended up at the food court across the street. Meh. If I had had a car, I would have been happier. I could have driven to better meals and seen more of the surrounding area. Also - my trip was in February and it was frrrrreeezing outside! Otherwise, it would have been nice to take a walk by the river.
