"Great disappointment, upscale resort wannabe."
Was looking forward to a two day stay at this resort while my spouse attended a conference. We arrived at the mansion for registration, but we could not go to our room because it was not ready. We decided to have lunch at their terrace restaurant. We noticed that all of the servers wore name tags that identified what country they were from. Thought this was odd, but ok. We ordered a very expensive turkey and goat cheese sandwich and a lobster roll. When the order arrived, we received a skimpy turkey sandwich and a lobster type eggs Benedict which we returned and waited for the $29 lobster roll. It was not very good and served on a croissant which fell apart. This is New England, one would expect an outrageous lobster roll. NOT. When we got our bill, we were charged for the eggs Benedict, which was $10 less than the lobster roll. The service was sub par and we spoke with the Maitre D who suggested that we return for dinner where he "could make it up to us." We returned for dinner which was not very good, mussels and crab cakes. Maitre D offered us dessert "to make it up to us". We took ours to go and although the waitress knew it was comped, she charged us for dessert. We asked the server about a pasta dish, and she was going to ask the chef about how it was prepared, as she didn't know. She never returned to inform us about the pasta. To add to our disappointment, the waitress offered us a bread basket after we were done eating stating "sorry we ran out of bread and had to find more." My spouse and I were leary about eating bread that was "found." Our room was ready after lunch. We were told that the room we had was about two miles away from the main house mansion. WHAT? Actually it was 2.5 miles away. The village of rooms were actually efficiencies. The first room we looked at had parking across a road from the efficiency and stairs, which we could not navigate. They moved us into the Arbor village which was about 1.5 miles from the Britteridge village. It actually took 12 minutes from the mansion to the villages. In addition, there is nothing to do in Brewster, so those spouses who accompany their conference goers had to stay alone for hours. We were told that we were upgraded to the Arbors village where there was a beautiful pool to use. When I went to the pool, it was closed. When I asked customer service when it would be open, I was told that it was only open on weekends. There was another pool farther than the one closest to us, but customer service person never told me about it. My spouse told me that the conference room she was in was not air conditioned and it was 98 degrees on that first day. To their credit, they fixed the issue. Communication is poor, service is not good and I believe they present themselves as something they are not. Poor service skills, under whelmed by their food and would never stay there again or recommend this upscale resort wannabe.
We stayed at the Britterige Village location. Accommodations were ok. Glad we had a sofa bed for my son. Really needs updating, it is clean, but carpets should be replaced, and closet doors should be fixed--some off the railing. Air conditioners are really loud and make sure to air out the bathroom. Still managed a good night sleep. enjoyed the indoor lap pool at both locations, but again locker facilities need to be updated. It is pricey for the accommodations, may try B&Bs next time. Staff is very pleasant and helpful. Location is great for heading out throughout the Cape--even got a trip out to PTown. Overall ok stay at the Villages--with renovations this would be a "recommend."
"Beautiful area, great pools wonderful staff"
We rented a one bedroom condo. The room was great. It had a balcony with a nice view of the wetland/pond. We used both the outdoor and indoor pools and the kids had a blast. Every staff member was very friendly and helpful.
"Lunch at the Lynk's "
Service and food were great. We especially enjoyed the service by Dajana from Bosnia-Herzegovina on our first day of golf and then a similar experience with the server, Emma. We also enjoyed the golf course and appreciated meeting the Pro and his staff. The course is in pristine condition and the greens were fast.
"Girls Weekend 2017"
We stayed in an updated villa in Edinborough. Perfect accommodations for a group of 4 women looking to relax and catch up. The villa was clean and very nicely decorated and provided a perfect venue. It was very easy to hop on the shuttle and take advantage of the resort amenities. We visited the newly opened Beach Spa which was super nice, went paddle boarding on Blueberry pond and watched the sunset from the Beach Bar. All the staff were friendly and courteous.
