"Location not convenient for business conference "
I attended a professional conference at Ocean Edge where the lodging was in the villas and the presentations and meals were at the Mansion. The distance between lodging and conference venue was inconvenient even with the shuttle service. The fitness center and pools were also inconveniently located. Steps were the villa buildings and parking areas which made loading and unloading a challenge. Water views were distant to non-existant. The food was nothing special. Communication with event staff prior to the conference was slow. I would not return.
"Recent vacation down the "Cape""
Happy Hour was Great,Sam at front was awesome,Breakfast personnel wer hospitable,Room was not clean (Kitchen) Special event was overpriced and boring. They bragged on check-in about Great Fire-Pit that was NOT in use
"A bit over marketed and over sold"
Stayed here for two night in mid-October for a family celebration. Our room was the Villa at Blueberry Pond. Based on the marketing materials (descriptions, photos, name of the property), we expected to be in a small cottage on the shore of a pond. The reality is that we ended up in a pretty run of the mill, mid-level one bedroom suite in townhouse that has four suites (two up, two down), in a long row of attached townhouses. The view of the pond was distant. It was similar to staying in a Hampton Inn suite, and disappointing based on our expectations, and for the price which was about $250 night. Another member of our family had a downstairs suite, and it smelled musty and moldy. Since it was mid-October, the resort had scaled back it's operations substantially. Only the small pub restaurant was open, no outside bars were operational, etc etc. At the same time, the resort was very busy catering to weddings, so there were a lot of people making noise checking in and out over the weekend. All in all, you can do better on the Cape for the money. Either stay in a smaller inn, or if you are looking for a large resort experience, New Seabury, the Chatham Bars, or Qequasset all offer a better value/experience for your money.
My husband and i had a great time at the Villages at Ocean Edge. We loved being able to walk on the property, take the shuttle to the beach, and go to the different restaurants. One gal, Palmina, went over the top on my birthday and made it very special when we were on the rooftop terrace at the Mansion. Have to say all the people here really work and are very friendly. Loved the entertainment as well, the bike path right on the property. We will come back if they have the same special.
"Okay, but overrated."
We bought two nights stay for here through Groupon. The price saved us $45 a night on their rate. The one-bedroom condo was comfortable and well appointed, but certainly needs some updating. The TV is actually hard to use. They want you to use all their amenities so you have to go through all that before you can actually use the TV to watch it. As for the amenities, they are numerous and extensive. Five bars and restaurants and they are very nice. But our first night we were at the very nice Ocean Terrace. While there we met other guests from the UK and got on very well. We stayed awhile and when we ordered another round of drinks about 9:15 pm we were told that it would be last call. When we mentioned that we were told the bar was open until 11 we were told that they decided they were going to close at 10 pm. While contemplating this they came over and announced that all of the gas fire-pits were being turned off. A little while later a security guard came over at about 10:05 and told us to leave. That was very bad customer service. There were easily two dozen people there besides us. We decided to go elsewhere our second night in Brewster. When we checked out two days later we were informed that we owed and extra $50 for $25 a day resort fee. I asked what it was for and they said it was for the many amenities. We never used any of them and the bar experience was less than pleasant.
