Kennebunkport is een klein, charmant plaatsje aan de noordoostkust van Amerika op zo'n 200 kilometer ten noorden van Boston. Op uw route door het noordoosten van Amerika is het een fijne tussenstop.
Unfortunately we were a bit late in the season for a lot of action in the town but there was still a fair amount of activity. This Inn is the perfect location to be within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants. The Inn is quaint and nautical. Super friendly staff, very helpful. Room was great ( remember it's historical so it is old but really nice). Walls are not that thick so the guy next door was probably ready to shoot me, had a cold and coughed all night 😬. Continental ( complimentary) breakfast was nice. It was a Sunday morning and they had a do-it-yourself mimosa or Bloody Mary station as well. For off season this Inn was very busy!!
"Great location, quaint inn."
We really enjoyed our stay at the Inn. The very small rooms (but very nice!) were they only drawback. The staff was friendly and made great recommendations on places to see, things to do and places to eat. We had a lovely time sitting outside one afternoon on their porch area. They have heaters and a gas fireplace AND they provide blankets if you want to stay out when it gets cooler. We met several nice people while sitting outside, sipping wine and reading. That was a nice break from seeing the town, shopping, etc. I would also ask for a room that is not close to the public parking lot beside the Inn. Got a bit noisy early one morning.
The town of Kennebunkport itself is BEAUTIFUL. It's a picturesque little town, full of cute shops and eateries. The exterior of this hotel is warm and inviting. The staff was helpful. The room, however, left some to be desired. It was a bit worn. The layout was similar to a motel 6, and the decor seemed more appropriate to the 1990's. The bed was uncomfortable. Our view was toward a dilapidated porch no longer in use. The room was relatively clean but I did see dust. It's a great hotel for $100-$150 but for $300-$400 I expect more.
"Great location, pleasant hotel"
This is a charming colonial style hotel situated right in the middle of Kennebunkport. The hotel lobby is very stylish and comfortable and the hotel has a pleasant old-world feel about it. The manager was extremely polite and helpful. We were just starting our tour of New England and he was more than willing to field a number of our questions. Our bedroom was well-furnished, if slightly on the small size, but that was probably to be expected because parts of the hotel were part of an old converted house. From the window there were good views of the inland harbour. Although there were water boiling facilities, there wasn’t a fridge. A self-service continental breakfast, with a somewhat limited choice, was included in the price. The Kennebunkport Inn is located in the middle of the town, with plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance. I suspect the free car-parking for hotel patrons is a real boon, especially in high season, when the whole area is jam-packed. This is a very pleasant and well-run hotel and I would have no hesitation in recommending it.
We stayed at this hotel as part of a trip around America. We liked the location as we could walk straight out into the town and parking was easy, although that may have been to do with the time of year. The interior design of the Inn has an attractive nautical theme that continues into the guest rooms. Our room was very compact with little space for our luggage. We asked for a larger room but were told they were fully booked, even though it was midweek, so we managed. Our room looked out over the kitchen yard and each morning we were woken at 6am by the kitchen fan being turned on and it was so loud there was no chance of going back to sleep. An unwelcome early start for this part of our trip. I'm sure there were more comfortable rooms but we were very disappointed with ours.
