Kennebunkport is een klein, charmant plaatsje aan de noordoostkust van Amerika op zo'n 200 kilometer ten noorden van Boston. Op uw route door het noordoosten van Amerika is het een fijne tussenstop.
"Exceeded expectations "
My wife, 21 yr old daughter and I spent two nights at this wonderful Inn right in the middle of town. The Innkeeper John immediately made a wonderful first impression by proactively accommodating us in different rooms than we'd reserved due to the unseasonably warm day and better A/C in the alternate rooms. He continued to go above and beyond to orient us to the area and make recommendations on how to make best use of our limited time. The rooms were very nicely appointed in a charming Inn, the restaurant served the best meal we've had on this trip and they have complimentary bikes available for guests to borrow, which we did for a fun ride out to Walker's Point. You won't go wrong choosing the Kennebunkport Inn.
"Great place in the heart of town"
The KPI is an older victorian era building updated and modernized to today's standards. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was a bit on the sparse side, although the food provided was very good quality. The property manager John was extremely welcoming and accommodating. When we mentioned we were there to celebrate our 30th anniversary, and recreate our honeymoon, (we stayed here 30 years ago to the week) he provided us with a coupon for two free cocktails in their beautiful lounge. Speaking of the cocktails, I highly recommend a very unusual KPI Signature Old Fashioned, with Bacon infused Rye, bitters, brandy soaked cherries, and a large strip of thick candied bacon as a stirrer, that was invented by the young woman lounge manager. Although I'm normally more of a wine drinker, it was perhaps the best cocktail I've ever enjoyed.
"You Feel Right at Home at the Kennebunkport Inn"
We were in Maine for the Maine Coast Marathon and spent three night at the Kennebunkport Inn (KPI). We arrived on a Friday night and after settling into our room (112 - two bedrooms and a shared bathroom in between, perfect for our family of four) we headed out for dinner. With so much close by you can leave the car at the KPI and explore by foot all the shops and restaurants. After a quick run the next morning I was thrilled to see some Boston Globes alongside the ample breakfast spread. The following day was race day and we woke to rain, and it rained all day! Have no fear though the course runs right by the KPI and our family was able to see us at mile four in nearby Kennebunk, walk back to the hotel for coffee and then see us again as we passed the KPI at mile 8.5. After finishing the race we came back and showered, warmed up and then did more walking in Kennebunkport. The proximity of the shops and restaurants cannot be overstated; the KPI is centrally located and very convenient. We also loved the extra amenities allowing us water bottles as needed, bags of ice and K-Cups - for those who do not love K-Cups they brew fresh coffee at breakfast and keep it there well after breakfast ends. When it came time to leave all of our race clothes were still soaked and the front desk gave us a few extra duty large garbage bags to load all our stuff into. We do not get to Maine often, this was our third time in 25+ years of marriage, but if we are back in this area again we know the KPI will be our home away from home.
"Perfect location at Dock Square"
We've been to Kennebunkport a number of times and have stayed numerous places. We picked the Kennbunkport Inn due to it's proximity to Dock Square and being able to walk to shops and restaurants. The inn offers a complimentary continental breakfast which was very nice - yogurt, cereal, fresh cut fruit, croissants, orange juice and a hot egg strata option. Our room was a little on the small side, but had two comfortable chairs, fireplace and was very nice, clean and updated. Parking is at a premium, but when we came back one evening with nowhere to park an employee moved her car and gave us her space. They have employees park in the lot in the evening just for that purpose. The inn has a large deck with various types of seating in a white and navy theme and the red geraniums were the perfect touch. They also have an outdoor patio for dining in the summer. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
My wife and I arrived at the KPI midday on Friday May 19 and were instantly swept into a feeling of relaxation. Our room (212) was situated on the first floor and overlooked the back of the property. The finishes were all of high quality and very comfortable. The outdoor sitting area was a phenomenal place to sit and enjoy a happy hour cocktail and snack after a day of walking and shopping and bike riding (bikes are available to sign out). We opted to eat at the on-site restaurant our first evening. We had a reservation and were immediately seated. Our waiter, Gabriel, took fantastic care of us! He was incredibly polite and personable. He even had some great suggestions from the menu. We ordered a couple cocktails and decided on several small plates instead of big entrees. We wanted the variety! Poutine, chicken sliders, fish tacos, and shrimp came out quickly and each dish was phenomenal. We took a piece of the flourless chocolate torte (another great suggestion from Gabriel) back to the room for later. Our entire weekend in Kennebunkport was by far one of the best in recent memory, and we contribute a good portion of that to staying at the Kennebunkport Inn. The staff is great, the amenities are plentiful, and it is just a fantastic spot to stay and unwind from the hustle and bustle of daily life. We will definitely be back!
