Kennebunkport is een klein, charmant plaatsje aan de noordoostkust van Amerika op zo'n 200 kilometer ten noorden van Boston. Op uw route door het noordoosten van Amerika is het een fijne tussenstop.
From the moment you step in the front door of the Kennebunkport Inn you feel right at home. Perhaps it is because the decor is just my style, but the inn was very welcoming as was the inn staff. I booked a king room and am glad I did. The only down side for me was that there are no handicapped accessible rooms. I have a walker and would like for them to install "comfort height" toilets that everyone can use. That being said, our experience was so good and we slept very well too. There was a lovely breakfast buffet in the morning. We absolutely love Kennebunkport and will return and will stay at the Kennebunkport Inn. This inn deserves all five stars!
"Best in Town"
From the time we checked in, our stay was perfect. John was amazing and helpful. Rooms are small but quaint, just like the town. The Inn is right in the middle of town and you can walk to all the restaurants and shopping.
"A lovely place to stay."
What a nice place to stay. A warm welcome , with cookies and ‘happy hour’ bar. The room was a delight. Clean and comfortable. The staff were polite and very helpful. Difficult to find fault, but don’t think I want to. Breakfast well worth getting up for. Overall highly recommended.
"Beautiful building in chocolate box town"
Was initially impressed by the kerbside impression of this inn. However, although the interior was tastefully furnished, the rooms were very small and the air conditioning unit was placed so near the bed, it was impossible to sleep. Someone also set the alarm clock for 12 midnight which didn't help. Continental Breakfast was good and staff were very pleasant through.
"Nice inn to spend a couple of nights "
My husband and I recently visited the Maine coast for a few days, and booked two nights at the Inn through a last minute booking app, which offered prices roughly 50% less than those offered on the inn's website. The Inn is located quite close to the water and shopping and restaurants. There was ample parking available, but I have a feeling that during peak times, there might be a little bit of difficulty parking, depending on the time of day. We arrived in the evening and greeted at the reception desk where we checked in and received a room key. We were asked if we wanted to be accompanied to our room, but preferred to receive directions and find it on our own. Our room was on the second floor, there are no elevators but it was not difficult to navigate the staircase with our carry-on size bag. The room was compact and bed was surrounded on either side by a cupboard unit with hanging space and drawers, and the side closest to the window had a Keurig machine with pods. Unfortunately neither of the hanging cupboards was long enough to hang a dress without the hem bunching up on the floor. There was a table opposite the foot of the bed. I noticed that the room was devoid of any artwork, not one painting or decoration on the walls. The bed was well appointed and quite comfortable. The bath had a shower stall, which had a dispenser on the wall with shampoo, conditioner and body wash, and a sink with body lotion in a personal container, some makeup remover towels and a small black terrycloth towel also for makeup removal. Nice towels. If you needed amenities such as a shower cap, extra lotion, toothbrush etc., there is a pantry area behind the reception desk with these items, as well as fruit, coffee pods etc., self service. In the morning we awoke to some loud noises and peeking out of the window revealed that our room was situated near a service area. The Inn offers a small breakfast buffet with excellent croissants, some fresh fruit, blueberry muffins, cold hard boiled eggs (?), a kind of crustless quiche and some other things. There was coffee and tea on a table, with a selection of teas, and an urn with coffee which was lukewarm at best, especially after adding milk. The Inn was comfortable and decorated in a manner consistent with what you would imagine to see in a New England inn. We didn't spend a lot of time there, leaving in the late morning and returning in the evening. There was a nice porch with fireplace, which I imagine would be a nice place to sit in the evening or on a chilly day. There is a restaurant as well as a bar on the premises, but we didn't try them, opting instead to take the short walk to a local restaurant one night, and heading out to a lobster place which we drove to. All in all we enjoyed our stay and were satisfied. However, I'm sure we wouldn't stay there again if we had to pay full price. We were there mid September, not a lot of foliage yet, but the parking lot was full.
