Kennebunkport is een klein, charmant plaatsje aan de noordoostkust van Amerika op zo'n 200 kilometer ten noorden van Boston. Op uw route door het noordoosten van Amerika is het een fijne tussenstop.
"Beautiful resort overlooking the river"
Great service and staff. We had an amazing room overlooking the water and lighthouse. Breakfast was fantastic with local fruit and pastries. When we got there I immediately booked a second night. They hotel is within walking distance of the beach and downtown.
The Nonantum Resort is a wonderful place to stay! The resort is a short walk to the center of Kennebunkport. The walk is approximately 3/4 of a mile. A walk in the other direction takes you to beautiful views of the ocean. The rooms in the Portside section of the resort are clean and updated. Our deck on the first floor gave us a view of the water and boats. Very relaxing. Breakfast was included in our stay and the food was delicious. It was served buffet style with many choices. At night they turned down your bed and left chocolate on your pillow. There was a free shuttle within a 5 mile radius which was very convenient. I would recommend this hotel.
"Friendly staff, but needs a facelift."
Travellers seem so good natured - and far less complaining than me. All those five star reports made me book the Nonantum. I was expecting a sparkling five star property. So what's the truth? A pleasant, sprawling resort in a good location which needs millions spent on it. Modest rooms with fading furniture and bedding. Bathrooms to match. Over-loud air conditioning. Decent views without any wow factor. A bun-fight at breakfast with ordinary food. But good quality staff who make all guests feel welcome. Plus busy (and free) hotel transport with a cheerful and willing driver who will give a guided tour of the area or drop off passengers in the small town about one mile away. Don't go with expectations other than for a five-star reception staff who are local and know what they're doing. Plus a reasonably comfortable night. Otherwise, unexceptional.
"Best Hotel on our week long Bus Tour of New England"
The hotel and staff were absolutely amazing! I only wish we could have stayed longer....much longer. The room was completely updated with newer mini-split A/C system and automatic sprinkler system. Bedding was super comfy and the new Keurig machine was great at 5am. The grounds were gorgeous.. It's obvious that the owners have put a ton of money into the property. The View from the giant picture window in our room of the river was awesome. The lawn was a great place to relax after a long day on the bus. Just settle into a nice Adirondack chair and watch the boats go by. We had the best meal of the entire trip in the restaurant. The service staff was top notch and helpful. We will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Maine. I hope that we can come back again and stay longer. Thank you, Nonantum Resort!
"Great location, near town and coast"
The Nonantum Resort has a great location. You can walk into town, or walk to Colony Beach and Parson's Walk--although the Nonantum has a shuttle that will take you around town. The breakfast buffets are as great as other reviewers have commented. My mother and I stayed in the Portside building in a King Family Unit: separate bedrooms and baths. We had a balcony with a beautiful view of the river; you could hear the ocean waves beyond. The Portside is very accessible for those with mobility issues. The main inn has a very steep ramp.
