"one night stay"
My brother was doing the NYC Triatholon and I decided to come cheer him on. He book a room at Hotel Beacon and I was very impressed with my stay. The room was a double with 2 comfortable queen beds, large for NYC in my opinion. The room had a small kitchenette with a mini fridge and Keurig w/ cups, etc. The bathroom was small and had a little bit of a smell but overall clean. The front desk, door and lobby staff were very friendly and accommodating. When we asked to have a room with a decent view, Mary at the desk was happy to make that happen! The hotel location was very convenient to restaurants and stores and the subway was very close as well. I would definitely stay here again!
"GREAT LOCATION GREAT SERVICE "
The rooms were clean, customer service was great. I appreciate the microwave n fridge in the room. Also the location was close to our destination. I wish they had parking. The garage near the hotel did not allow parking for more than 24hrs
"Nice hotel in a good neighborhood"
I spent a very pleasant couple of nights at the Hotel Beacon recently. It's just a couple of blocks from the subway, right on Broadway. The hotel is pretty quiet, with large rooms. Mine had a small and very useful kitchenette, complete with a couple of burners, microwave, kettle, small fridge and a sink. This is even better because a large and well-stocked grocery store is right across the street. The lobby is small but comfortable. The room was a bit dated, with heavy drapes and a bedspread, when most places have moved to duvets, etc. It was thoroughly comfortable and very clean, however, so it was more than sufficient for my needs. The bathroom was very modern and super clean. There was some loud noise from an adjacent room, which I believe was also the source of a distinct marijuana smell in the hallway, but it simmered down after a while each night. The price was very good. I would stay there again and recommend it to people who want to be out of the craziness of Times Square and other areas.
Excellent hotel. We stayed in 2 suites for 4 nights. The suites were spotless, very nice decorated. Bathroom a little bit small but have all the amenities. The hotel is located very convenient near 72 street metro station. Opposite to the hotel you can find a market to buy all you need to prepare a meal in the kitchen in the room. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. A guy named Ronny helped us reserve a shuttle and call the company several times to get us the best price. There are self laundry facilities. We hade a great time there. We made the reservation to the hotel 6 month before we stayed, and the price was really good. Recommended!!!
"Again a great stay on the Upper West Side"
We had a good-sized room with two double beds and a kitchenette on the 16th floor with windows facing Central Park. Although we couldn't really see the park, the room still had a pretty nice city view. It was surprisingly quiet the whole time, except for some occasional noises coming from the neighboring rooms. However, no street noise. Since we are somewhat light sleepers, this was exactly what we wanted and had asked for. In addition, really great beds! Also, a free newspaper every morning delivered at the door + the latest edition of Time Out New York delivered in the room were nice additional touches. On the minus side, the air in the hallway was somewhat stale and stuffy throughout our stay. Also, air quality in the room wasn't the best. Perhaps the biggest minus was that the maids didn't do such a great job in cleaning the room. When we arrived, we found an opened and partly used bottle of complimentary body lotion in the bathroom. In other words, the staff had not replaced the bottle after the previous guests. It also seemed as if the room hadn't been dusted for a while, and it wasn't dusted either while we stayed there. After we had used the existing ones, the maids forgot to leave us additional shampoo, conditioner or soap without asking. This isn't such a big deal really, but usually you don't have to go and ask for these. Overall, however, our stay was more or less great and hassle free. Checking in and out was the fastest I've ever experienced, and everyone at the front desk and in the lobby were friendly and helpful. Finally, I recommend you to check what's on at the Beacon Theatre. We're huge Seinfeld fans but just missed Jerry's stand up gig. It would've been so easy to go and see the gig right there next to the hotel. In a nutshell, if you want a good-sized room with a kitchenette at a great location on the Upper West Side, I can highly recommend Hotel Beacon.
