After a bad experience at another hotel chain we made a last minute reservation at Kimpton Muse and it was the best decision we made. The staff is always so friendly and accommodating. They knew we had a long night and upgraded us to a nice quiet suite. The room was spacious which is a rarity in NYC hotels and perfectly decorated. Thank you for rescuing our night and sanity Muse!
"Great NYC Hotel"
We stayed here for 5 nights for the first part of our honeymoon. The location is very close to Times Square which is good for tourist, however we would probably stay a little further out because it was a bit busy and noisy for us - however the hotel was great. The lobby and staff especially Daniel at the front desk were helpful and friendly. They knew it was our honeymoon and so we had strawberries and sparkling wine in the room which was a nice touch. The room was a good size for NYC the decor was modern, the bed comfy and the shower was great. Would recommend for those looking for a central location and modern rooms.
"Find peace at the heart of Time Sq."
A lovely boutique hotel at the heart of Time Sq. beautiful rooms, very clean, excellent breakfast (expensive yet wonderful). More than anything fantastic people holding the fort. The doormen, one of them always notices the guests coming in opening the door with a welcoming smile, the front desk team special thanks to Joanna Butcher the one and only, Daniel Jutt who knows all about the city and never get tired from giving good advice, Daniel Mitchell who makes the day bright even when its dark, the housekeeping team who is great even thou a bit less consistent. The hotel Is situated half a block from the Sq. not effected by the lights, lots of good restaurants, shopping, Briant park, the Moma all within a walking distance.
"Looks the part but lacks in important ways"
Check in was awful as we had an issue with credit cards being in a different name to the booking. Daniel was very pleasant, the Manager he called over was the opposite. Made my friend feel very uncomfortable & was awkward for all of us. Stayed in one of the suites which has a partition between the small lounge area & bedroom so not a separate bedroom & lounge with doors. Looked stylish though. 2 x large wall mounted tv’s with excellent choice of channels on cable. Bathroom was beautiful. Fabulous views of Times Square with seating area & a lounger. Great location. Now the cons:- We had NO heating! It was so cold. When we reported this to the front desk a small noisy fan heater appeared. That was it. No explanation nor apology & the heating was never repaired in the five days we were there. I was ill for a big chunk of our stay so being in the room was necessary. The bathroom had no radiators or under floor heating either & was cold & impossible to dry towels. Robes (you have to request another if there are two of you as only one in room) have seen better days. Stained & rough. If you want a coffee maker you need to request this from the front desk. I was drying my hair one night with the supplied hairdryer and all the power went off including the phone. Luckily my partner was with me & could go to the front desk to report this. It was sorted very quickly but not what you expect to happen when you’re just out of the shower!! There is a bar but no idea what it’s opening hours are as when I asked where the bar was I was directed to it then was told ‘but it’s closed’ this was early evening on a week day. Odd. I wouldn’t come back here or recommend it. I’m sure there are better places.
"The Muse, should be your Muse!!!"
We had company from out of town, and suggested this hotel to stay. We have eaten here, and it was beyond regular expectation, as was the service! We decided to spend the night, and, the rooms were very comfortable, beautiful! The only down side was the construction noise, but, this is not the fault of the hotel. Stay and eat! Worthy!!!
