"Good hotel 10 minutes walk from the Niagara Falls!!"
The Holiday Inn express in Niagara is a decent hotel. The staff is very helpful. They helped us in getting a cab to the airport for 5:30 am. The restaurant attached to the hotel has amazing food. They packed us some food for the airport journey which was very kind.
"Team Tournament Getaway"
It was a fun weekend with a good bunch of people but the hotel was mediocre. Staff was friendly and the lobby was nice with plenty of open space. It was cold in some areas though. The view from the room was a wall, so it wasn't very exciting to look at. Rooms on the other side of the building had a view to the parking lot...maybe a little better with more light, but not much more exciting. The rooms on the wall side were a little warmer. The rooms on the parking lot side were cold...several families complained. In one area the hallway was freezing. Every time we walked by, we were freezing. The staff tried to put a heater there, but it didn't help much. Showers took a while to warm up. Parking was difficult to find, possibly because the tournament brought in a full house, but it's still annoying when you can't find a space nearby. No breakfast was provided. For $135USD per night, I thought it was a rip off.
"Not bad but not great "
My husband and I visited Niagara Falls, NY for a long weekend. We booked a king suite for 2 nights. The concept of the suite is nice; king bed with tv and chair with french doors leading to the living area. Decently clean but dated. Elevators are extremely slow and one broke down during our stay. Housekeeping was very friendly; asked for extra towels and was provided them. We were on the 3rd floor so there was absolutely no view, but this hotel is very close to the falls and goat island. Swimming pool is indoor and heated but it's still a chilly swim. Lots of kids running around. Close to casino as well. Would stay here again.
"Stayed for Hockey Tournament"
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Niagara Falls 2/17 through 2/20 and we lost hot water on 2/19. The hotel said it wasn't going to be fixed before the end of our stay. So they gave us the option to either stay and use other empty room's showers and receive 1/2 off the night of 2/19 or we could stay at one of their sister hotels for half price. We decided to stay because most of our team who was on the same floor had hot water and were staying. The situation wasn't ideal but the Holiday Inn worked very hard to make things right. We appreciated it. I think the rooms with 2 double beds are too small and are cramped for 4 people (2 adults and 2 teenage boys). You have to walk over people to get to one part of the room to the other. The up side to this hotel is that the location is great for walking to the falls and local restaurants.
"Visit to Niagara Falls, NY"
The hotel is located within 5 minutes walk to the bridge that goes into Goat Island; where in the island, one can view both the American and the Canadian Niagara Falls. Even one can view parts of the Niagara Falls from the windows in the hotel. The reception staff and the maintenance staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The stay in the hotel is really value for money.
