"Better Than Expected"

There are different sorts of travelers. Some people check in to a 5-star all-inclusive resort and never leave. Some people opt for the opposite end and stay at hostels. We're the type who find a moderately priced hotel to sleep and shower then get out and explore. Which is all to mostly explain why we stay at Holiday Inns. The rest of it is they have a truly terrific points program. I haven't paid for a hotel room in 3 years... As far as Holiday Inns go, this was better than average. Someone put thought into the public spaces, and I GREATLY appreciated the semi-private Spire Elite / IHG hospitality room with complimentary sodas. Nice touch not found at every location. Considering the relatively sad state of Niagara Falls, NY as a city, the staff here were amazing. There's a young man with light brown hair and glasses who stood out. Someone give him a raise - he was incredibly friendly! We stayed in one of the suites, which was large, comfortable, and interesting. With a queen sleeper sofa and King bed, there was plenty of room; however, there is no doorknob on the separating French doors. How am I to shut them from inside the bedroom? And the doors have no privacy curtain. Also, the a/c unit runs constantly. We all woke up with sore throats and headaches. Perhaps it's the constant breeze from the unit or maybe the air filters need checked. I didn't look, but all symptoms magically disappeared when we returned home. He jokingly says we're allergic to New York... The hotel is busy given its proximity to the Falls. A majority of guests were international - and not as polite as North Americans. Prepare yourself for it. I did call the front desk at 11:30 on our last night because an international family decided to have a loud discussion in the middle of the darn hall. Security was notified and the offending people were quiet after another 15 minutes. It's the best location possible on the US side, parking is free if you're a guest (get the permit), staff were nice, and the bed was slightly soft but no backaches. The indoor pool is small, but we don't swim in indoor pools. There is no breakfast and I adamantly discourage you from doing the lackluster and pricey Tony Roma's breakfast next door (it's connected to the Holiday Inn). Look for locally owned diners. Other than the rude guests, it was a relatively good 4-night stay. Starbucks is 2 blocks away and the Goat Island bridge is at the other end of the block just past the Visitor Center.

"Relaxing stay"

Location and price were the top two things that made me choose this hotel. It's within walking distance of the Falls and was reasonably priced. My boyfriend and I stayed in a king room on the 6th floor. It was spacious and clean. The staff were friendly but could have been more attentive. If you want a view, we were told to stay floor 4 or higher with an even number. :) Breakfast was not free. They do have a heated pool. (Oddly placed in the lobby with a wall around it.) There is an attached arcade and restaurant. Wifi is a tad slow but free. Overall, highly recommend for an efficient and fun vacation!

"Anniversary vacation "

I was pleased at first, then realized we had dirty sheets and the mirror in our bathroom had not been cleaned. I spoke to front desk and housekeeper was sent to change sheets, but it was still dusty in our room too. There was no microvave in the room and so we had to go to lobby to heat up our food we had purchased. The Wi-Fi was horrible. The pool was closed most of the time we were there and then it was too cold to get into. The one manager was rude and at one point was in the elevator with me and couldn't even bother to speak. I left 2 days early due to all of this.

"Amazing service with a dash of sugar"

No one is wide awake at 2:30AM enough to go through a thorough explanation of what there is to do in town when checking in. No one, except Tony D. We checked in at 2:30AM Friday morning in the midst of a chilly night looking for cover from a very long drive from the Jersey Shore. Due to one of us (me) leaving our passports in the Garden State and unable to cross over the Rainbow Bridge, we stumbled upon the Holiday Inn Niagara Falls. Surprisingly within walking distance of the falls and even Goat Island, however on a rainy day I wouldn't recommend walking there. Tony explained to us everything we could and should do the following day at 2:30 AM. The passion in Tony gave me hope that there were people out there who are good. A very nice getaway at a very nice location. We had a view of the water from our window, not really a view of the waterfall due to the exact location of the hotel, however we saw the river that flowed into the falls. Thanks for everything!

"Fair price"

Walking distance to The Falls, and some minutes to the Goat Islands (Niagara Falls State Park) by car. Good service at the reception desk, wi-fi is ok, the room is spacious. The free parking area is in front of the hotel. Weakness: there is no breakfast (there is a paid very ordinary breakfast served at a restaurant next to the hotel).
