"Good Value, Comfortable, Fine Location"
I stayed in the Sheraton Society Hill for a night with my wife and daughters ages 13 and 11. I used to live in Philadelphia, so the city has a special place in my heart. We lived near Rittenhouse Square and normally stayed on that side of Center City. But rates were high and availability was low, so we stayed here instead. Normally the Sheraton brand is a red flag for me - it connotes low end convention hotel to me, at least in the US. While not perfect, the Society Hill location is a fine choice, at a good price, in a very good location. POSITIVES: 1. Nice room, Comfortable beds. Clean, functional bathrooms. No street noise and limited interior noise. 2. Great location. Walking distance to a number of bars and good restaurants. The eating options are slim late at night for a family with kids (can't go to a bar), but this is a minor point. You're within walking distance of many historical sites - Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, etc. 3. Check in and check out was efficient. Angel handled both. I put my wife on the reservation (different last name) and she was able to check in before me without a problem. The person who checked her in told her that I would need to present my credit card to get SPG points, and offered the 4pm late checkout proactively. There were multiple people checking people in late at night when I arrived. This does not happen at many W hotels. Great job. 4. Lobby is large and a good place to congregate. 5. There was a root beer float bar at check in when we were departing. I thought that was a cute touch in the middle of summer. CONCERNS: A. The valet parking is expensive ($49). No other options nearby. B. Valet did not take my car to the lot for at least an hour. I would prefer that it did not sit in the driveway at midnight for that amount of time. C. Room fixtures are getting threadbare. Bathroom doors are low quality and have a lot of wear on them. The above concerns are minor quibbles, especially at the rate I was charged. I enjoyed my stay and would certainly stay at the Sheraton Society Hill again.
"great hotel close to everyhting"
Hi-We stayed at this hotel twice and it was awesome both time. Big note, if you need a fridge there is a limited amount so make sure to call ahead and reserve. The pool is small but great. its is walking distance to the water and all historical attractions. Staff is helpful and friendly and hotel rooms are nice and clean. the lobby is beautiful and open. Parking is a fortune. I would advice to park in the municipal lot down the block which is half price. Drop off luggage and then park-
"Worth a stay "
At glance I felt a little disappointed. I expected something a bit more grand like the Four Seasons since it was in Society Hill but the location is really excellent, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the food was really great. We stayed as wedding guests. The food at the weddi g was fabulous. The beds were so comfortable and the staff were all friendly professional and accommodating. Even though I live nearby I'd return to hang out in the city. Paying an extra $50 for overnight parking is a drag but typical of the city just as $20 for a mediocre glass of wine was! I'd love to see a bit of updating starting with the carpets but all in all I like it there.
"Worse Hotel Stay for Business"
I arrive on Sunday, had 5 bags and park valet. No help with my bags, not even an offer. My toilet run in my room for 4 hours before someone was sent to repair. Front Desk folks not pleasant, rude, don't acknowledge guess, will answer phone while guess is waiting. It was not busy when I checked in on a Sunday. Went to pick up my vehicle to leave, valet had no record on list of guess of my vehicle. It's the worse experience, especially for me being an spg member. I will not stay at this location again, and will recommend to my Business partners doing training at hotel, not to return as a partner to hotel.
"Great for business!"
Came here for business. Hotel was very nice, super clean, friendly staff. Location is great as we could walk to local restaurants and shops. Breakfast was not good though, I can skip the powdered eggs. Quality of food was not good, thankfully there are many places close by to dine. Room was clean. Would stay here again on business if needed.
