"Good mid priced resort "
A little dated but overall an ok stay. Beds are comfortable and the staff is friendly. I would say it's very similar to a "Sheraton" level hotel. If you want mid to higher end luxury then wouldn't stay here but not bad for price paid.
"Great ski lodge and host hotel"
We loved our stay at Golden Eagle! We found our room clean modern and tasteful, and cosy warm upon walking in. All staff super friendly and helpful. Great pool and spa area! And we were with a sponsored group and felt welcomed and celebrated! Also grounds were plowed and sanded frequently, super important during ski season. Couples of fine points: our heater was a little noisy. Bathroom was clean and well stocked but could use cosmetic updating. But these are points more for mgt, not a reason not to stay here.
We stayed overnight for skiing and stayed in a newly renovated room that was more than adequate for our needs. We booked the breakfast package and the breakfast was fantastic! Front desk was helpful and friendly. I will be back. Those seeking 5 star accommodations should skip this Motel but for all others, you vannot go wrong here and it is in a good location on Mountain Road.
"I would recommend"
Resort was nice, rooms clean and comfortable, also dog friendly, lots of nice trails in the woods along the property for walks, hiking, jogging. Two complaints: chambermaids weren't very good, did not do good daily service had to keep asking for things like toilet paper and coffee, the other was we arrived early and asked if we could check in, they said rooms weren't ready and we would have to wait till the 3 oclock Ck in time, so we went and killed time and came back at 3 and they still weren't done it was another 45 min wait until we could get into our room. They did comp a breakfast because we couldn't Ck in on time but it was still aggravating after the long drive and with dog.
"Beautiful rooms, subpar service"
This hotel will has a lot of potential, so I'll start with the good: - Beds were comfy, rooms were well furnished - Nice breakfast in the morning - Clean rooms - Coffee and cookies served in the afternoon We spent quite a bit of money on a nice room, as a Christmas gift, and were very disappointed with the overall service. Individually, none of the "events" would have been been a huge deal if a staff member had apologized, or even seemed to notice about a string of bad luck. But taken together, our trip was disappointing: - When we showed up, we were immediately asked to evacuate our room because there was a fire next door in the cafe. Of course, we were not upset by this, it was an emergency. We went to the front desk, and noted to the staff that our room smelled like smoke, and we would be happy to switch rooms as to not have a smokey smell. She said she'd have housecleaning come by. While we were gone, house cleaning sprayed this gross lavender spray to mask the smokey smell. Ick. We would have preferred to move. The rest of the weekend there was banging outside of our room in the same location that the fire had been. I'm not sure if this was typical, or as a result of clean up, but either way, there seemed to be no consideration that guests were staying in that room. - As a result of the fire, they had turned off our boiler (without telling us) so we had very cold showers. When we called the front desk to inquire, a nice man came by, said he'd check on it, and then never came back to tell us the status. - We had to call housecleaning twice to get our room cleaned on our second day. The first was around 3pm - she said someone would be by within an hour - so we went to the pool. When we got back at 4:45 our room still wasn't clean, and when we called, there was no apology or acknowledgment that they dropped the ball. Other annoyances that showed a lack of attention to details: - The woman loudly announced our total bill at the front desk (it was a gift...normally hotels circle the amount on the bill and show the person paying) - Multiple items in our room were broken including: tv, light next to bed, fireplace door, deadbolt - The pool had no towels, or attendant to ask for towels, and the floor leading to the pool was a muddy mess Bummer. We are hoping for some followup from management about this situation.
