Over Hotel Palomar

I booked this hotel just one night, it's easy to find way to there from Metro station. Lobby has seating area it reminds me boutique hotel in Europe. My room has no view, just looking at other side of the hotel but room is good size, bed is comfortable and has very funky bath robe ! Area looks nice and green, it's really shame I stay only one night. Also less than $20 Uber ride to DCA. Next time when I have a chance to visit this capital of United States of America, i will come back to this one, it's such a good find, I'm extremely satisfied with this short stay.
"Very Cute Hotel in Great Location with Great Service!"
I stayed at the Kimpton last Saturday for one night. I was in the area for a conference and decided to extend my stay to do some sight-seeing. The front desk let me check in at 9:00am, which was amazing! The room was very cute – small but comfortable. The bathroom was very spacious. The hotel has a restaurant ( we ate downtown but food looked good). The location is near DuPont circle and close to everything. Everyone we encountered during our stay was very friendly and accommodating. Shout out to the front desk working Saturday morning, I didn’t get her name but she provided amazing service throughout our stay. If we ever return to DC, we will definitely stay at the Kimpton!
"I would totally come back!"
We came here for Mother's Day weekend and had a great time. Check-in was painless and the guy at the front desk was really nice and answered all of our questions as well as provided us with information about the room. We didn't arrive until after 5pm which was right in time for their wine hour which was cute and added a nice touch. Upon arrival to our room we we're happy to see that the room actually matched the pictures online. The room was really spacious and cute. Also our husbands had surprised us with sparkling wine and cheese boards so we really loved entering the room at that point. Room amenities were great, the one issue we had was with the soap holder by the sink. The soap kept getting stuck to the wooden holder, not the biggest deal but annoying. Regarding noise, I don't think we ever heard anyone in the hallway or even above or next to us and the hotel was at full capacity. The beds were comfortable as well as the linens. We had two issues during our stay. The ice machine stopped working after the first night, we ended up having to go two floors down and that wasn't working either. In the end we took two buckets to the front desk and they provided us with ice. Also we repeatedly asked for an additional wash cloth. We asked at the front desk and they advised they'd send it up friday night. Saturday morning came and we got nothing, so we asked the cleaning person on our floor who advised she would be servicing our room. Came back to the room and nothing, ended up getting wash cloths from the front desk when we got the ice. So Sunday morning you'd think there would be ice or at least an out of order sign but there was nothing. During check out we also had to mention the daily fee because we were charged for it. On Kimpton/IHG's website it says the daily fee is waived if you book directly with them. We saw it on the bill which was fine but we never saw the credit to take it off. When we brought this the attention of the front desk person she's like oh we no longer do that and our policy changed. But you booked before our policy changed so I'll adjust it. We then asked for a copy of the final bill and she told us since we booked with a third party we'd have to get it from them. Okay but we booked directly with the hotel, so that explanation didn't make sense but we left it alone and hope that all would be right. In the end the bill was correct and all was right in the world. I realize this is a boutique hotel but there's those little touches that I think they missed. As I previously stated, we had sparkling wine delivered to our room. I can't say that I expected housekeeping to refresh the ice buckets but someone should've been notified. I've stayed at numerous hotels and have always come back to fresh ice in the room especially when there were bottles in the ice buckets. It's a small thing but it was worth mentioning. All in all this was a great stay and I would definitely recommend and come back again.
"Great front desk staff!..and the location and rooms too!"
My two brothers and myself stayed here on different occasions, we all agreed that one front desk staff stood out! who went out of her way to make our stay more comfortable! And her name is Marinella! We will come back here just for her service! She is a perfect example of how a front desk staff should be. I highly recommend this place for their excellent service ( Marinella stood out but front desk staff and the bell men was generally and genuinely happy to help) , location is great a short ride from Union Station and walking distance to the hotel, plenty of restaurants to choose from within walking distance.
I have stayed in Palomars in our cities but this was my first time in DC. The location is really good. You can walk pretty much everywhere. The hotel is only a few blocks from the metro as well. We requested a larger room since there were four of us and we got a GIGANTIC room - couldn't be happier. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The room, as I said, is spacious. The bathroom was small but adequate. We needed a few extra amenities and they were promptly delivered to the room. The only downside is that because of the central location, your only good parking option is valet and it is a bit on the higher end. Otherwise great hotel and great stay. Would stay here again.
