"Great room, great location"
The hotel is in a great location, close to so many restaurants and entertainment. Staff was friendly and helpful. Ask for a room with a window seat for a great view of the city! I enjoyed sitting and watching the city activity below me. Comfortable bed too!
"Good room, Great view, FANTASTIC location"
My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Hotel Monaco and really enjoyed it. It wasn't our first trip to Chicago and wanted to do all of the touristy things. We stayed there Mod Jan and found it very easy to walk to everything we wanted to do. Very close to the bean, close to the navy pier, etc. We really enjoyed the location as well as the view. We asked for a room facing the river and were really impressed! Our room had a great view and a nice little sitting area! Window seat if you will. Beautiful both day and night. The hotel itself is great. The room and lobby both were welcoming and had tons of character. Best bonus-FREE wine from 5-6! Or maybe 6-7?? Lol but I know it's free! The hote was priced great compared to other options we checked out.
"Love this boutique hotel!"
We have stayed in multiple Chicago hotels, but always come back to Monaco. The location suits us very well, being on Wacker & Wabash. It's an easy walk to most places, and taxi's are easy to get. The rates are often competitive. The thing we love best is the uniquely decorated rooms with the big window bench seats. The views are pretty from the bench seats. The beds are comfortable, and the rooms are spacious, even for the standard room. Occasionally you can hear the El, but it has never disturbed our sleep. The staff is always friendly and accomodating. We recommend it to everyone!
"Window seats, upgrade, AND a World Series Win!"
Doesn't get much better in terms of accommodations, service, and location. We are local to Chicago and decided to make a semi-last minute reservation to see the Cubs WS celebration parade. This hotel is a literal stone's throw from the magnificent mile. Upon arrival, we found out we had been upgraded to a suite. We were completely blown away by this suite: not only was it the perfect, convenient set-up for our family of four (4 year old and 1 year old), but it was spacious and truly beautiful. The extra large window seats were such a fun and special surprise! Our children were mesmerized by these window seats (and I can't lie - we were, too)! We spent a lot of our stay gazing out the windows at the river below and skyscrapers above --- truly gorgeous accommodations. Staff was attentive, warm, and helpful as we navigated our stay with children and all of their accessories - especially upon arrival to the hotel. Valet service was exceptionally good and we were able to get our car very quickly. Our stay at the Monaco was very memorable and we can't wait to have an excuse to stay here again.
"Hotel Great but Staff Needs Improvement"
Nice modern and clean hotel with sleek design. Rooms are a nice size with cool modern bathrooms and clean efficient gym. The check in staff were not much help. Kind of rude actually and I'm from Chicago so it's not that. They did not bother to tell us about the evening wine reception. We were surprised to see a lobby full of 20 something's enjoying drinks and appetizers when we returned to the hotel around 6. Were these people guests of the hotel? Love the welcoming pet policy and while kids are welcome, the hotel doesn't do much to be welcoming.
