"Festival of Lights"
This hotel is right on the river. We crossed over to Spin for fun & dinner then watched the parade & fireworks before grabbing the free hot chocolate in the lobby. We love the window seats. My daughter took it over as her study area.
"Very good hotel in a nice location"
I recently stayed at the Monaco Hotel for a business meeting. I loved the decor of the hotel, very unique. Check in was easy. My room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was nice as well. I can't say enough about the staff, how helpful they all were. The meeting room was adequate for our needs and the staff was attentive. We had lunch served with our meeting and the food was delicious. The location is fairly close to Michigan avenue and other downtown venues. I would stay here again.
"Great Stay, Would Come Back!"
I visited Chicago for 3 days in October with my husband and 6 year-old daughter. We booked the Mediterranean Suite and loved our stay at the hotel. It's in a great location. We had unfortunate luck with the weather and it rained most of the time we were there so we ended up taking Ubers most places, but could get around with fairly short and cheap rides. When the rain let up, we were able to walk to many places (we would have walked much more if it hadn't been pouring). We walked to the architecture boat cruise, the Bean, the art gallery and to shopping. We also took the train to the hotel from the airport and it was very easy. The hotel is really pretty and the staff were very friendly - they gave our daughter a little welcome toy package when we arrived, which was very much appreciated. We ate breakfast at South Water Kitchen and thought it was delicious. We also appreciated the coffee, tea and infused water station in the lobby - it was fun to taste the different flavours of water each day. We were there celebrating my birthday and arrived to our room to find a bottle of and birthday card signed by the hotel staff, which was lovely. The hotel is full of these kinds of small touches that really make a big difference. The room was perfect for us. Our daughter slept on the pull-out in the living room area (which had it's own TV, although we didn't use it) and had space to unpack her stuff. We also had a couch in the main bedroom area, which was great. The pull out bed was great - probably the most comfortable one I've ever felt. The bathroom was beautiful and had a lot of sink space for the three of us to spread out on. It did take a bit of time for the shower to warm up though. The shampoo and soap smelled amazing! My one complaint about the room is that the bed is placed a little too close to the window. I slept on that side and it did not have a night stand, which was a bit annoying. I could reach the window seat though, and put my book and glasses there. I was aware that I had to squeeze past the drapes to get into bed at night. Of course, our favourite feature in the room was the window seats! I actually always wanted one of those as a child and here we had three. My daughter and I spent a lot of time relaxing in the window seats, reading and watching the cars and boats below. We would definitely stay here again and will look for Kimptons in other cities now.
"A Fine Boutique Motel "
From the time we checked in till checkout we felt welcomed and were given a high degree of service. Smiles and courtesy from the Bellman, Front Desk, and House Keeping. Rooms were Clean and Quiet. Attractions (Restaurants, Sight Seeing and Cocktails were all within walking distance or a short Uber ride. Complimentary paper, coffee and wine service in lobby. Definitely would stay there again on my next trip to Chicago. The GM should be proud of his staff. Well Done!
"Great Hotel, good location."
We arrived in Chicago after taking the overnight train from New York. What a pleasure to walk into our hotel room which was quiet and had the most comfortable bed, which we needed after night spent on the train. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the 5 o'clock drinks in the Foyer was a lovely way to start the evening. The location was excellent, walking distance to major attractions. Would stay here again.
