On March 24, 2017, I had the unfortunate pleasure of being a guest at one of your subpar Sheraton Suites Galleria Atlanta And Suites hotels. I am a SPG gold member. I was not acknowledged as a gold member. I had heavy bags and no one assisted me and I injured my back. After checking in I noticed the room I was assigned to was not clean. The sheets were outdated and dingy. The sheets had tears in the inner layers I addressed the matter with the staff at the front desk and I was given a generic response room service will clean the room and change the sheets. The front desk wasn't helpful. The bathroom was missing soap and toilet paper. There was a hot water issue and it was lukewarm. The front desk had a nonchalant attitude. I didn't feel valued. The type of customer service being provided at your establishment is extremely unacceptable and I am demanding to be compensated in the form of a full refund of my points as a result of it.
"Nice room layout"
It was nice and quiet up on the club floor. The room was spacious and very clean. I was traveling for business and the restaurant area has a nice area to meet with work associates. Staff was friendly.
"Lots of room in the room"
The hotel is well located for access to a lot of local businesses and is a mere minute from both I-75 and the Perimeter loop. Weekend traffic in an around the adjacent mall and nearby restaurants can be a bear but the entrances and exits for the hotel are easily managed. The Sheraton is well maintained and cleaned but is fraying a little at the edges. If it matter the elevators are beat up in the hotel (they may not even all work) and the elevators in the hotel parking deck appear to be in a permanent state of non-function, something you should know when driving in with a lot of luggage and gear. You can only access the hotel from the garage via the ground level so do not park on a deck and expect to walk straight to a upper hotel floor. The rooms are very large and well equipped. My room was a "Family Suite" with a double bed substituted for the normal double sofa bed in the living room and a king bed in the bedroom. Both rooms have doors opening to the cavernous bathroom. The spotless bathroom should be the main selling point for this hotel. Large vanity, large tub/shower, terrific/fantastic shower head mounted well above my 6'1" head, terrific hot water and pressure...the bathroom has a lot going for it. The closet is in the bathroom and that is a little different, but no a deal breaker. It keeps the living and bedroom areas clean of clutter. The wet bar is appreciated as is the fridge. Real glasses are provided. The bedding is really good and managed to compare favorably to newer Marriott hotels. The staffing is a little sparse for a full-service hotel, but the staff I interacted with were exemplary. This can be a hit or miss in Atlanta hotels in my experience and was a hit for the Sheraton. The front desk person who checked me in after my drive in was courteous, friendly, and professional. Security was always around the front of the house. I do not normally do hotel bars and restaurants, but the overwhelming popularity of the area's restaurants forced us to eat in the hotel after a long day spent in the sun at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Our bartender Paris was out-of-this-world good to us and helped us with food and was excited to use her bar tending skills on some terrific old fashioneds. Typical hotel pricing on food and drink, but it was all good and delivered by a friendly person. Like I said before, the place is comfortable and clean, but age is creeping in. A little continuing investment by the owners will keep this hotel as my top choice when travelling to Atlanta. In fact after staying here for two nights it lessened my enjoyment of the Renaissance Concourse where we stayed the third night and previously my go-to in the Atlanta area. A little hint when leaving the hotel you cannot turn left back toward the interstate. Exit through the top floor of the garage and out to the Cumberland Mall parking lot then traffic light. Or go right and catch the interstate using Cumberland Blvd.
"Great Hotel even better Customer Service!!!"
