"Was OK I expected more."

Best part Location, Location, Location, directly across the street from the famed Peabody, 1/2 a block to Charles Vergos World famous BBQ Don't miss it! And the horse drawn carriages are lined up right in front of the hotel. For the price, and it's four star rating, I just expected more. Staff OK some better than others. Room was clean for the most part, bathroom needed another few minutes, (old soap, and empty shampoo bottles left in shower. Room had a modern feel to it, updated TV and even a Kreig coffee machine,( not everyone knows how to use one yet ). No Fridge, I was kind of looking for a mini bar, after the soaking I took from valet, ( $24 a night ), Pushed the cost of the stay over the $200.00 a night range, I needed a drink. Beds were a bit soft but slept good. no A/C unit blowing by the window a plus. All in all, a quiet, decent stay. could use more or faster elevators. No breakfast they have a big buffet for an additional charge of $12.95 a head.Travel Well Hammer

"Staff more like thugs than hospitality pros"

As a business traveler with Spire status who has spent thousands of nights in hotels in the past 18 years, this was by far the worst experience ever. I have stayed multiple nights at this hotel over the years as well. This hotel has never really lived to Holiday Inn standards but the location is right at the Memphis action and restaurants. I attempted to discuss issues with the manager on 3 occasions while visiting and left a phone message after departure with NO RESPONSE. One of their employees demanded that I give them my phone. After denying his request, he had the lady at the front desk calling my room over and over at midnight. After taking the phone off the hook, three employees including the security officer were banging on my door demanding entrance into my room. This continued for several minutes until I cracked the door with it still latched. The security officer then again demanded that I give them my phone. I denied the request again. I am not sure what these 3 Thugs were up to. I understand that everyone has bad employees from time to time, but this way overboard. NO MANAGEMENT RESPONSE. These employees belong in jail. Will never stay here again! Will write as many negative reviews as possible on this hotel who has employees that tried to roll me!

"Nice hotel"

Drove up to the hotel and the valet informed us that the valet parking was $25 a night or there was a public garage next door for $10. We did go with the valet option but i really appreciated the option and honesty so we where off to a good start. The valet was prompt and efficient any time we where coming or going so that was also a nice touch. Lobby area is nice and check in was quick and easy. Our room was on the 7th floor and from the nice fresh appearance of the lobby when you step off the elevator the rest of the hotel is showing its age. Nothing bad but it just could do with a good freshen up. The room was fine nice and bright and overlooking the pool area. No safe in the room which we are coming across more and more so maybe keep this in mind if its a deal breaker for your visit. The bathroom was a little on the small side very narrow to the point the door nearly hits the toilet when you open it again keep this in mind if you like some space or privacy. Hotel is literally across the road from the Peabody so you have to stop by and see the ducks. Also its a 7-10 min walk to Beale street so the location is perfect. Didn't spend too much time in the hotel overall as we where there to enjoy the city but from the time we did spend in the hotel we would defiantly recommend it and maybe in the future if the room safes return we will stay there again

"Not awful for the price"

We booked one night stay here for a stopover on our trip. All hotels downtown Memphis are pricey but this one was a little less on the pricey side. For the good…Bed was clean and comfortable. TV worked well. Room was a good size. The room also was able to get cool well as I like to sleep in a cool room. Also a nice view. On the downside…Bathroom was a little crowded for space. Bathroom also had some mold / rust in and around the shower, and needed updating in electric. The staff was very friendly no issues there. This is a valet only parking garage which I was not aware of. that was really a non-issue. Hotel is fine for one night located close to great restaurants but not the cleanest hotel I've been to in a while.

Great location. Great service. The staff were very friendly, courteous, and eager to help. They gave great directions and recommendations for restaurants. The room was very nice and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. I do wish the bathroom would have had more space. The hotel and the room were clean. The restaurant had a nice breakfast buffet with very good options.
