"Great Location"

We stayed here for 2 days while we were visiting Memphis before the A&M/Alabama game. I cannot say enough about the location in downtown Memphis. It is within good walking distance to several good restaurants and Beale Street. In addition, the Peabody is just across the street so if you want to see the ducks you don't have far to go. The hotel is a little dated, but well worth the stay for the location.

"Bad Service"

Checked into the hotel on christmas day. I came down to the reception to ask for an additional blanket and a top sheet. I was given a blanket but not a top sheet (it was not sent up to my room but rather handed to me in the reception area to carry upstairs myself) as for the top sheet, we were told that the maintenance staff are home for the holiday and that we simply can't have one. And that's not even the worst part, when entering the room and about to take a shower I found out that the entire tile wall of the shower was covered with someone else's hair. It wasn't just one or two hairs but at least 10. We called the reception again and told again that there is no housekeeping staff present at the moment. We refused their suggestion to switch rooms since we were already settled in and about to go to sleep, eventually, someone from maintenance was sent to clean the room and he was very kind and helpful and also managed to come up with the sheet we asked for. No apology or compensation was offered from the front desk or the management that night or the morning after, it was just disgraceful.

"Good Location - Stops There"

This hotel is walking distance to Beale Street, check in was OK - with a reservation made through IHG Room was nice - a KIng Executive for $169.00 plus tax which included breakfast - although we were given a $20.00 voucher for breakfast and was warned that anything over would need to be paid to the wait staff.... that is some breakfast inclusion!!... You get a voucher and of course there is going to be extra... $3.75 for an orange juice. When I book a room with breakfast, I don't expect extras!... BE WARNED We were tired upon arrival so had a early night and tried to book for another night and was advised it would be $289.00 plus tax - we did not take up this stupid offer! $120.00 more than the previous night - a Wednesday Room was of a nice size, but bathroom is REALLY TINY... room is clean and bed is comfortable. I expect more being an IHG member - this hotel did not deliver - go to another hotel that does value your custom... which is exactly what we did... IHG membership doesn't count for anything

"3 days in Memphis"

Overall this was a good place to stay. I was in town for a business trip and didn't have a chance to experience all of the hotel amenities. All of the employees I encountered were professional, friendly and helpful. The location was excellent, as it was less than a 5 minute walk to Beale street and many restaurants are right across the street. If you are a light sleeper, as for a room away from the garage, as the Valet honks car horns for safety when going around corners.

"exceptional experience in a shuttle bus"

The room was large with a very comfy King size bed, with four large very comfortable pillows, desk, two chairs, ample closet space, large screen TV etc. Coffee maker (which made great coffee). The bathroom was cramped but we loved the "instant hot water". Room was very clean and quiet, the thermostat worked exceptionally well, providing AC or heat at the flip of a switch, daily room service. The hotel is a block and one half from Beale Street, and close to everything. The staff throughout the hotel were great! A shuttle bus driver by the name of Brian McClendon, who drove for the Holiday Inn Airport and conference center, was the highlight of our stay. When my wife and I arrived at the airport, Brian was the shuttle driver that gave us a ride to the hotel, he gave us his cell phone number to call when we needed a ride back to the airport. On the day of our departure we called Brian and he picked us up in his Holiday Inn bus!! He was so humorous, and knowledgeable of Memphis, offering us several discount brochures and advice of the area. Brian had the music of Jerry Lee Lewis blaring out of the radio, Brian, my wife and I joined in clapping and singing..........exceptional experience in a shuttle bus . We will certainly stay at this hotel again when we come back to visit Memphis
