Het zwoele, tropische klimaat en de vriendelijke de mensen voelen als een aangenaam warme deken. Dus, proef het leven in deze swingende stad en verwen uw zintuigen!
My family and I have been coming here for years and have always enjoyed the high quality of service. We choose to use The W over Airbnb etc in order to have everything taken care of for us, but morning it was raining and like any other W we have stayed in around the world and multiple times here we went down to the front desk to ask for one umbrella. Shaun? (I apologized if I am not spelling her name right) the front desk reception lady immediately told me they were out of umbrellas with a a look back to see if they actually were. Two minutes later the lovely front end guy who wears the white shirts outside had a family ask for a umbrella, he immediately ran inside past Shaun into the back and popped right back out with a W umbrella, Surprise! So I went back in and went ask the manager, ( older lady, once again I apologize for not getting your name, I hate doing descriptions) and told her what had happened. She immediately said Shaun was too busy to go check for umbrellas (it was not that busy) and that the nice man out front in the white shirt must have taken someone else’s umbrella to give to the guest. I’m just disappointed because instead of the manager trying to fix the issues she managed to yell at the only person actually doing his job, ( the front end gentlemen outside with the white shirt) I’ll be staying elsewhere next time with my family.
"Young, funky, extremely well located"
My Wife and I stayed at the W French Quarter in August. We have stayed at a number of the 'W' properties around the globe and really like their funky, vibrant and welcoming approach. The W French Quarter was no exception. Welcomed by the warm and professional staff, we were offered some complimentary drinks at the bar whilst our room was prepared. When shown to our room, it wasn't a position in the hotel that I fancied, so I asked if another was available. The wonderful front office staff moved mountains to ensure that we were happy. a few minutes later, they had us moved to another room, which we were extremely pleased with. Nothing seemed too much trouble for the staff at this wonderful hotel. It is very well located, close enough to the action to be able to walk & far enough away to not be disturbed by night time revelers. If you're looking for a great place to stay in New Orleans, do yourself a favour and just book at the W - you'll be glad you did.
"NOT WORTH THE PRICE AT ALL"
When I think of "The W Hotel" I think of Luxury, Spotless, and Perfect! The W New Orleans was not anywhere near this. I was there for my birthday weekend, and didn't mind paying more for the hotel. It is a older hotel, with many needed updates. When we first arrived just walking in the dull room the first thing that was noticed was the dingy looking duvet, as well as the dingy sheets, they were not white at all. The bathroom toilet hadn't been clean, and the carpet didn't look like it had been touched either. When I called the front desk and ask them to come clean the bathroom and bring another set of sets they did, but they only brought another set of dingy looking sheets. When I complained nothing was done other than offering points which doesn't help. NEVER WILL I STAY OR RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL EVER!!!
"Charming hotel in a fun-tastic location!"
This is a very charming hotel located in the heart of the French Quarter. It is a cluster of buildings typical to the area so if you are looking for a big-box sleeping factory this is not the place. There is a Marriott few blocks down on Canal St. for that. I really enjoyed my 5-night stay over Thanksgiving. It was my first visit to New Orleans and the W was perfect as my base to explore the city. I was able to walk to most of the attractions - Riverwalk, Aquarium of the Americas, National WW II Museum, French Market, Jackson Square etc. Uber and taxis are readily available as well. The Fabulous Room I stayed in was even more fabulous because it was connected to a terrace with couches to lounge on. The room had everything I needed. Bathroom had a shower cubicle, ample towels and the standard Bliss bath amenities. The only thing problematic was the faucet in the sink. Water pressure was really weak. Wi-Fi worked well on multiple devices in the room as well as in the courtyard and the lobby. I especially appreciated technology such as SPG Keyless entry and how I could text back and forth with the hotel about Housekeeping service or anything else I needed. Breakfast at SoBou restaurant was great but there was a significant variance in presentation of the food from one day to another. One day the fried eggs were perfectly plated but another day they came out looking like a 4-year old tried to cook them! I would like to recognize two people who made my stay extra-special. Thank you Elijah Bradshaw for the wonderful welcome amenities. Those pralines from Southern Candymakers were so good I had to go down to their store on Decatur and buy more to take home with me. Also, many thanks to Jaraud McGary at SoBou for the wonderful dinner service and conversation about food. As someone who travels frequently and have stayed at many W properties over the years, I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking to stay different in one of the most prime-town locations in NOLA. New Orleans had so much to offer and I am looking forward to staying at the W French Quarter again on my next trip.
What’s great about the hotel is the location. Perfect walking distance to many of the areas great attractions. Also in a good area if you need to take a taxi out of the quarter with ease. The hotel is not cheap and you have an expectation of Wow when you heck into a W. The rooms are worn. Worn carpeting ( mine actually had a burn on the floor with an iron) scrapes on the paint, a cabinet door containing the mini bar that wouldn’t close, and nothing on the walls. No photos, paintings, anything to break up solid colored walls. Housekeeping is slow, does not replenish shampoo or soap without requesting. Breakfast does not start late so this hotel does not provide any option for those here on business who need to leave the hotel before 7. This includes coffee!!!! Unfortunately for this frequent traveler to New Orleans (twice a month) I won’t be returning to the W. The place has potential but it really is not up to standards of a W.
