"Very Good Value"
I found this hotel to be of excellent value for the money. It provided a good atmosphere just outside of Bryce Canyon. The convenience of a general store nearby was appreciated. Fhe room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. I have seen comments of the rooms being dated. Ours did not appear older or dated. A nice place to stay.
"Maid staff are theives"
We left in the morning and called right away to let them know my daughter left her very expensive ski pants in the hanging closet. I called and asked the desk to get them and they waited until the next day.... after the room was cleaned and of course they were gone. In addition, staff entered our room twice when we had posted the do not disturb sign. Had the staff gone to the room when we requested we might of had a chance of getting them back. Staff could of cared less and housekeepers are not to be trusted!
"Disgustingly outdated tourist trap"
Where to start. The interior was like stepping into the 1980's. There have been NO renovations since it was built. The bathroom was cramped, the toilet blocked during our stay, the bath was a bath/shower combo with a shower curtain. Despite the poor flow of water from the shower, the bathroom still flooded. The towels were thin like toilet paper, our room was not cleaned properly after the first night. The conditioner/shampoo may as well have been floor cleaner it was so bad. The wifi was terrible. The pillows were like lumps of coal in a sack. There are different buildings and if you want to get to the pool/"restaurant"/reception you have to drive there in the winter unless you want to die a cold death. The breakfast option at the restaurant is only buffet, and it's expensive. Dinner food is like a prison canteen. There are tour buses that come and drop of herds of tourists at this hotel. Since they have guaranteed business from the huge tour groups they haven't bothered to provide any kind of quality service or product. Stay away.
"Busy & basic room, not much in the area"
This Best Western was BUSY!!! The room was basic, it had all the essentials plus a fridge & microwave. The curtains were right in front of the door/walkway area. The curtains only had a blackout option, so either you open it and everyone can see inside your room or you completely black it out, leaving the room dark. The lighting in the room wasn't the greatest. There aren't many food options available. A small diner/cafe by the hotel or the restaurant attached to the hotel. I read mixed reviews about both so we didn't even bother to check them out. Our saving grace was the General store which was also attached to the hotel. They had a grocery store in there & since we had a microwave, we just had tv dinners. There aren't any elevators so if you're staying on the second floor, be prepared to carry your luggage. Overall, there aren't many lodging options in the area so considering the price, it was a decent stay. There is another best western across the street, which is a little bit more pricier but I heard from other people we meet in the area that it was a nice place. I might consider checking them out if we come back.
"A Great Place to Stay Near the Park Entrance"
I wouldn't stay anywhere else near Bryce. The convenience to the park, bike trails, and dining beats anywhere anything nearby. The rooms were quiet, clean, and well appointed. We loved the friendliness of the staff, the ambiance, and warmth. The newer Best Western across the street is a sleeping location only. It has a cold ambiance.
