"This Place is Okay"

This is an older property with associated decay/maintenance issues and design limitations. However, it was clean, we thought the staff was quite friendly, and it is well located near the national park. Plus it is just a few fast highway miles back into town center for food and gas. A couple things to note are that the rooms enter from the outside (brrr in cool weather), and there is no elevator for second floor folks and their suitcases. We didn't use the onsite cafe, and while I guess the views are nice, so is everywhere else in that broad vicinity. We didn't experience the noise issues others have mentioned, but the hotel was half empty during our off-season stay. The price was fair for the location. Given the limited choices if you are here for the park, we would stay here again if we come back to the area.

"Clean but noisy"

Resort might be generous. This is a hotel, however, it has a nice southwest vibe. Rooms are clean and the towels are soft (a rarity!). The on-site restaurant has good food and a nice breakfast buffet in the morning. Our room had a lovely view of the bluffs behind the resort, as well as the llama and horse corrals (they do offer rides as excursions for additional fee). The bad bits: The walls are thin. As in if your neighbor unzips their luggage, you WILL hear it. The toilets have an air system that is very loud, and yes, you will hear every flush from your neighbors room. Doors, footsteps, rolling luggage, cars... you get the picture. So did we when our neighbors got a bit frisky in the middle of the night. Note to couples... apparently the headboards are not as secure as they seem and those thin walls transmit “pillow talk” quite clearly. For our visit, which was at end of season, we were also treated to a roofing company slamming down stacks of shingles on the roof at oh-dark-thirty in the morning. It worked for our needs for a single evening (we were passing through and only did a day trip to Capital Reef), however, we would most definitely not stayed for longer, nor will we stay again.

"Poor Customer Service"

My husband and I just checked out yesterday. I will start with the positive, the property is beautiful and has awesome views. It is also right in the backyard of Capitol Reef, so that's a plus. Upon arrival we owed a balance but this was not disclosed and I had simply forgotten, partly my fault. However we were told that there is a $50/day incidental charge. I travel often and assumed that this would hold in my bank as pending... It did not. A full $150 was taken out for our three day vacation. I was VERY UPSET! I had given the staff my debit card which was mainly for spending money. Now I was out $150 until I checked out. I went back down and told them to reverse the transaction and put it on a credit card to make it easier, they said they did. They DID NOT. We have been home 24 hours now and I still don't have my $150 back which has caused problems with automatic bill pays, etc. I had to go into my investment account to transfer money for the week. Also, upon arrival we turned our heat on. Upon coming back from dinner there was no heat, only cold air. They had to bring us a space heater for the night. I would think that should be checked before someone checks in.

"Caution: "Company Policy" 48hr cancellation applies to early departures Also! It's True.."

Views cannot be beat. Magnificent. Yes, it's nice and always spotless but always has construction going on. Standard Hotel 24 hour departure notice does not apply. So if you reserve 3 nights, stay 1, decide to leave, you pay for all three. Weather changes here and unless you love sitting in a hotel room...think twice, pay once. Off season they are not full so only book one night and then add on, or move on the either Bryce or Moab 2hrs away either direction. Problem Two: Noise. The first night the fan was left on in the next room and we did not know what the horrid noise was until after 6 am when the alarm in the vacant room next door went off and eventually the hotel sent someone to turn it off and oh-joy-oh-delight they turned off the Horrid Fan!!! No wonder we wanted to leave after the first night!

"Wonderful Stay Oct. 2017"

I stayed at Capitol Reef Resort for several nights in October 2017. It was a beautiful and quiet time which was just what I needed. Great location and I stayed in one of the cabins which faced the Teepees and Red Rocks in the background. The cabin was wonderful, didn't want to leave! Well appointed, great decor, bathroom /shower, plenty of lighting, nice linens and soaps etc. Fridge in cabin for when you want to drive to the next town to get a bottle of wine! Beer sold in Torrey but if you want wine or alcohol you have to drive to the next town. I did not eat at the restaurant so cannot comment.
