"Well run hotel"
Very nicely run facility. Spread out quite bit- isolated from town, but has some great views of the Capital Reef mountains. Staff was very friendly and efficient, as well as helpful. We had requested a quiet room, so they placed us on the end just to be sure. Amenities were nice, with some added touches that were not as cheap as others we have visited. Good firm bed, and everything was very clean. I wouldn't call it picturesque, as far as a resort goes, but nice enough. Be prepared for lots of wind from this location, but was acceptable the day we visited. We upgraded to a suite, which did not mean a larger room in this case. However they threw in some extra furniture and a sink, which made it nice. All of the amenities were very nice, and were not the cheapest brand available. Lots of room for the kids to run and play with a large open grassy field. The teepees were available, but were being completed as we visited. Looked like a lot of fun! A word about the food. The breakfast cost $10, but was worth it. Especially compared to the "free" ones we have recently had. You know, REAL silverware, plates, glasses, etc. Great quality food as well. We would definitely return.
"Kathie in restaurant gave outstanding and friendly service"
I think the staff at the front desk could be more professional. They barely pay attention. Indifferent and unmotivated. We did not get one word of welcome or glad you are here or come back, etc. They could benefit from the training given to Holiday Inn staff! The women in the restaurant, on the other hand, could not have been nicer or more professional. Kathie at breakfast was outstanding. Food was fine.
"Clean and convenient location "
This is a standard clean room friendly staff The grounds a well kept you can park in front of your room there is a restaurant on site it is good if you are visiting the parks it is great views are just amazing
"Beautiful location and comfortable rooms"
What a beautiful location by Capitol Reef National Park and the price is hard to beat! For the price of a typical budget hotel you get at the very least mid-range hotel amenities / borderline luxury resort. The Capitol Reef park itself is a hidden gem. I actually liked the park more than Canyonlands/Archers but not more than Zion and similar to Bryce Canyon. Before getting to the resort, we arrived at the park a bit late at around 4 PM. Went to the visitor center, did the scenic drive, and managed to squeeze in one hike. We were pretty bummed that we didn't arrive sooner because it was so beautiful and and we had to leave the next day. Weather was pretty nice in the afternoon in March - about 60s. Afterwards, we headed to the resort which is about 10-15 minutes from the Capitol Reef Park Visitor Center. The resort is in a somewhat remote location but I think that adds to the ambiance. The rooms are big, clean, and comfortable. There's a restaurant at the resort but we didn't eat there - we opted instead for the RimRock Cafe across the street which was good enough. If you get a balcony, you're in for a treat! It's amazingly beautiful, especially in the morning for Sunsets. And you're also near a great stargazing spot in the park - about 10 minutes away. The temperature dipped in the night to about 50s/40s. Only regret is that I wish we stayed another night.
This place doesn't look much from the outside, but the lobby is nice, and the room was lovely - comfortable, modern, clean, and characterful. We've been on a road tour and this was the best sleep we had anywhere! Restaurant on site serves good food and drink with a friendly service. Location is good for the park/Fruita, although there's not much around in terms of services. Would most definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone passing through.
