"The Linq Hotel"
I really wanted to celebrate my 50th birthday in Las Vegas as a tribute to my mom and dad (who had passed away in the last couple of years). I had not been to Las Vegas in 7 years and was very disappointed at the changes. There are children everywhere running around and the hotels no longer really comp players anything. Trying to get a drink while you are gambling is almost impossible. The Linq hotel where we stayed was the worst on service. You had to wait at least 40 minutes to try and get a drink and that was after hunting down a waitress or waiter. The buffets are all overpriced and it seems like there are only known chef restaurants with very expensive menus. The cheapest buffet was at Harrahs for $19.95. We went to several casinos and playing slots or tables it was very hard to get drinks, water or any kind of service. I will not be going back to Las Vegas as it is now a family vacation and not adult vacation place. Watching parents drag 3 or 4 years olds through the casinos at 2 or 3 am was horrible. Not quite as bad as when they let the kids run around like animals. Have to find somewhere that caters to adults. No comps, everything is overpriced and just not fun like it used to be.
Casino was ok the dealers were very transparent no emotion. The Tag Sports Bar was pretty good nice selection of IPA's. O'Sheas was a good upgrade just wish the dealers were more friendly. It's worth a peek but your not missing anything if you dont
"Just another day"
Elevators were very confusing. I had to use my room card to gain access to the floor with the elevators only to have to take elevator to what I thought was my floor. But once I got the hang of the elevators and where they took you I was able to get to my room quicker.
"The Linq Stay"
I was told I was bumped up to a premium room, after looking online I didn't really see a difference between that and the deluxe. What makes the difference, is it the view? But this is not a complaint, just an observation.. I had a nice time, beside NOT winning NO money
"Great location, quiet rooms"
The Linq is a fantastic location on the strip - easy access to walk in either direction and the side avenue with all the shops and food (leading to the High Roller) is really convenient as well. The express self-checkin was handy and everything with our accommodation was good. It feels slightly short-staffed at the desk as the lines were always crazy long. Housekeeping forgot a cellphone in our room and we returned it to the desk but I had to wait over 15 minutes for someone to be available. Also the safe was locked when we checked in, we called and waiting 1 hour but they didn't come (later they left a note but we never are in our room long enough to sync with them). The only other issue was our hot water handle in the bathroom wasn't connected, so we'd have to hold it on and turn the water on/off and take it off when done. I never understood why housekeeping doesn't communicate these things when they're cleaning. As part of a post-checkout cleaning they should be making sure everything is in order, the safe unlocked, lights all work, etc. and put in orders to get things fixed prior to the next guest or to have the room make unavailable until repairs can be made (moving guests to another room). All in all, fantastic stay, will definitely return.
